NOW WITHDRAWN: Lakland DJ4 For Sale or swap
playbass replied to Champion Badger's topic in Basses For Sale
Bought this a few weeks back brand new. It's a great bass, but being a finger style player, find rosewood is more my thing. I am looking to sell, or do a straight swap for a DJ4 with rosewood board. It's up for sale for £650.
Fair enough, this lady seems to be mostly a finger style player too. Maybe try it for a bit longer, you may grow to love it, you never know? (If you were closer I'd just be buying this off you instead of encouraging you to keep it though!)
Would you say it's giggable without PA re-inforcement? Cheers! James
I play in a loud jazz sextet (think funky drummer and a guitarist who want's to win the decibel competition... no not all that jazzy I suppose!) with one and it was fine. Not enough for loud rock obviously, but they give a great punchy sound. Cool effects too if that's your thing.
As promised here is my Markbass CMD 121P For Sale. It has one month left on the warranty. Bought from Absolute. Gigged folk gig once. Perfect as new condition. Still with box and paperwork. Reluctant sale but I need to use Trains so I 'm going Genz Benz route. You know the score with these. 250 watts. 500 watts with extension cab. Add a Bergy for awsome tone. Great for EUB and DB. PRICE £600
Nice... where is it?

Just completed a trade with John this week. I think all I can say is ditto to all the comments above. Smiles all round.

I've received quite a few offers of trades and have to say I'm tempted by one of them... keep the bass amd amp/cab/combo offers coming! Also new photo of the neck profile added above as requested by a basschater. Also a photo of a ding on the top of the headstock, luckily it's where you don't look and it doesn't show up because it's black, all the same I'll include a hardcase or pro gig bag if it goes for the asking price. (I had a dream last night that I received a PM telling me to stop bumping my ad! )

If you've not seen these before then you can check out Damian Erskine demonstrating how clear chords sound on these basses: Damian Erskine Solo Damian Erskine playing chords! Also it's the bass that Todd Johnson based his signature model on, so that sounds as good as the same as this too. Machined brass. String spacIng .656"/16.5mm Tuners: Gotoh GB-7 Finish: Black General Review This bass is unbelievably easy to play; I think this is mostly due to the neck. It is very slim front-to-back and also has a narrow string spacing of 16.5mm. I never thought I had any problems moving across the string on my other basses, but when you play this it is so effortless it makes 'normal' basses feel very agricultural. It also has a super-low action and is easily the most stress-free bass I've ever played. I think this is aslo light weight, for a six-string which makes life generally easier. It's 4.36kg or 9lb 10oz. Reading dots is also made easier as you hardly ever have to change positions, it's like being able to reach the 9th fret whilst in first position, magic! Momma didn't raise no fool! If it's sooooooooooooooooo good then why are you selling it?! I bought this for a jazz project that I was getting involved in, but we couldn't find a drummer So now I'm the drummer as they have found another bass player, who annoyingly can't play drums (hey, at least I'm not playing a g**t*r instead!) And sadly he's happy with his current bass guitar. I think these are closing in on £3000 new (See here) Not really looking for a trade, but if you want to try me with a lightweight combo like a MarkBass or similar plus cash, or a nice cab. maybe even a nice head? Not really after another bass... but you can always try me! I do like a nice jazz. Now includes a free hardcase or pro gig bag if it goes for the asking price.
To slightly hijack your spanner... Anyone have an opinion/experience on/of Jeff Berlin's "A Comprehensive Chord Tone System for Mastering the Bass"? Also Gary Willis' "Ultimate Ear Training For Guitar & Bass" Pete.
No, but one of them seems to be here...
I think this used to be my bass. I'm sad to see it getting sold on because it's a beaut - very light as well if it was my old one!
Just Checked and it weighs: 4.07kg or 8lbs 15.5oz (Don't worry King Tut, I do love this bass, really comfortable to play... but it has to go :/ ) Also new photos added!
