2. Boiled linseed oil? It gave me a darker finish with the grain highlighted a lot more but with no gloss feel or gloss looks. Only problem I had was the smell.
3.
Hey there, I'm currently selling most of my unused stuff at the moment on eBay, but I thought I might aswell put this on here before I put it on eBay. Up for sale is my Line 6 POD 2.0, I bought this back in 2006 to let myself play guitar at night without disturbing my family. Last year I bought a Zoom B2.1U bass pedal and now I just play my guitar through that (and because im lazy, I can switch between my bass and guitar without changing pedal). So here are some pictures of it. As you can see there are a few scuffs and scratches on the paintwork, nothing too obvious. That's how the scuffs look upclose. Fully working, comes with original power supply unit, doesnt come with instructions though (I'm sure Line6 will have the instructions online), doesn't come with the original box either. I'm thinking £55, that includes P+P. That's about £15 cheaper than the last couple that have sold on eBay. I'm also open for trades, anything bass related ; pickups, speakers, bridges, pedals, etc. If you wish to see higher resolution pictures, ask any questions or make any suggestions, just PM me! You can also look through feedback (Although someone spelt my username wrong in the title, *glares at budget bassist lol*) Thanks for looking!
Please don't make me eBay this, I hate eBay . Price drop to £40 (That includes P+P!)

5. Hmm odd, I still have my first bass ; Vintage MM copy, I bought it in December '02. Anyway, I still like it, for awhile it was getting more use than my Ibby. I don't know if the problem is only with the newer ones? (The Wilkinson hardware, etc). To my ears it really gets that modern sounding MM tone. Then again, I've never actually played a real one! I still feel Vintage are the best brand out there for cheap instruments.
6. I got the 5 string version of that bridge (in OPs link). It's heavy, sturdy and i've had no problems with it at all. For the price you get the mounting screws and an Allen key, which is pretty fair. I only have an Ibanez SR305 bridge to compare it against, but I'd say it's just as good if not better. I bought every piece of hardware from this ebay seller for my cheap project bass and nothing has gone wrong so far. A Wilkinson pickup, 4 machine heads and a bridge for £22? I can't complain.
7. Hey, I was wondering if the more experienced players here could help me out. I recorded a song a few months back on the Zoom, I used a custom made patch called "Synth"(not created by me...someone on this forum actually!). I was wondering if anybody knows of a pedal that could create the same idea as the patch on the Zoom. http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/Micehor.../all/play568309 It's the song called "My first attempt at a song", excuse all the talking at the start, when the drums kick in it's that sort of tone I was wondering about. Thanks everyone!
8. Dead Prez - 'Hip Hop'. Wow, I'm surprised they mentioned this. It's great to see good modern rap on the radio. I think this one song sums up my dream tone, sadly it sounds too perfect/pure to be a bass guitar (I'm guessing its a synth).
9. ...Last night I bought a pair of 10s and I paid a lot more than this. Oh *facepalm*. But I just made a thread in the wanted section asking if anybody had a 15", so PM on its way!

11. Got two necks from him. Arrived quickly, good price and very well packaged. And he gave me two free nuts to go a long with it. Fantastic guy!

13. Got a pair of Bart pups off him, fantastic to deal with and also great at making a conversation over PM!
14. Hmm Rockbass have always interested me, the Fortress 5 and the active Corvettes the most....but the new $$, I NEED this bass. Hopefully it won't be as pricey as the Fortress' £400-£450 price range. Then there's the new Sterling by Musicman range and the current Squier VM/CV, what a time to be starting bass or wanting to buy a midrange bass (like I am at the moment).
15. Holy smokes, one day and so much information! Thanks to everyone who added their input (even you BB ). I'm gonna print this page off tonight and read it all thoroughly in bed. Thanks for uploading the video, splund. What a creative way of counting the winds, I'd probably have had a pen and paper and hoped for the best! lol. As you say, my first time will fail and I kinda want to fail, just so I learn what went wrong for the future. I'll give this shot a next weekend when I have spare time and see how badly it goes lol. Again, thank you to everyone who made a comment! What a wonderful place this is.
16. I done a quick search in here and couldn't find anything, I hope this is the right section aswell. Last month i decided to start modding basses out of boredom, to get me through a boring winter. Anyway, i've decided after doing pretty boring things so far (LED fretboard, de fretting, building a neck) that i'd try and make a pickup. I bought myself 10 neodymium magnets and 75 metres of .50 copper wire. I'll use two sticks to hold the magnets in place, so sideways on it will look like this Magnet = M, stick = | M|MM| I then wrap that in the copper wiring, (they say between 5,000 and 8,000 times! ), tape it up, cover the two wires, plug into a volume pot, and I have a pickup. Is it really this simple? I am a complete noob to building and modifying. I would post on another forum I use, but i'd get ripped to shreds by elitists and you guys seem a lot more respectable and nicer. My long term plan would be to make a working bass from parts i've made (ie, make the pups, bridge, tuners, etc) Also interested in hearing from people who have made a pickup themself, or have read up on it. Thanks for reading and take care everyone.

19. My new Status neck for my Stingray I just posted this for a chuckle, to see the difference between Status Graphite necks and.......£90 Musicman copies with Carbon Fibre sheeting to cover up the headstock. I made an arse up of the painting, so I sanded it down and thought "Why the Hell not!", and i'm on a budget aswell. I created this Status wannabie. Enjoy lol.
20. I'd say go for the Bongo. I know if I was in your position i'd sell the others and go for this. You wanted a Bongo preamp in your mod'ed SUB? I think this is your chance to go the whole way. As you've said, the Bonjo has a fantastic range of tones already. You only play one bass at a time, why not make that one bass your dream bass? Ps - If the SUBs going for sale, I would be interested lol.
21. Bought a Thomastik C string from Markbass555. Arrived the next day after posting, good communication and easy to purchase from. Top guy and great seller!
