1. Can anyone send me some tracks or clips which have him playing as a sideman, like a bassist for other musicians. I'm aware of the session work that Miller has done but never really looked into Victors 'side' career.

5. As the title suggests, anyone have and are willing to share a transcription of the song school days ?
6.
Dune Tune - Level 42 Also, open up a fake book on ANY PAGE. You've got a world of solo arranging right there.
Finally Some Level 42 ! And yes I will search through peices, being original is another thing I want to be !
7. Wow guys that's some great stuff and I'm half way through looking at them ! Thaks for that !
8. Hi Guys As part of me taking Music A level it requires that I do a 6 minute long solo piece performance. This can be broken down into 2 pieces which equal 6 minutes or at the maximum 3 pieces. Also after that I need to do an ensemble performance which lasts roughly the same time as the solo performance. (2 CONTRASTING PIECES) What I'm stuck on is choosing solo pieces They have to be at least a grade 6 standard. What I thought was playing some Vic or Marcus stuff and getting it in but that sort of stuff would be better with ensembl-y type of stuff. What i came up for the solo pieces were Portrait of Tracy - Jaco Amazing grace - Vic And that's about it. The ensemble stuff I can sort out with the other guys so no hassle there, although your welcome to suggest something suitable. Cheers Manraj

12. Hi guys Looking for a well experienced teacher who can help improve on technique as well as improve my personal playing. The areas I would want to cover would be as stated: Technique Bass 'Theory' Jazz (so walking bass, chord changes) Slap bass Ear training I know it's a lot of areas to cover but I would prefer a lesson every 2 weeks and just working on areas and moving onto other ones. If you want to know anything else just PM me and I'll reply ASAP. Area (DY4) Tipton Cheers Manraj
13. I think I should leave to him. Don't really want to ruin the bass I wanted for ages
14. Hey guys I bought this Fender Jazz brand new and never noticed it until a few days that the Bb on the 1st fret of the A string rattles. I tried the other 1st frets on E,D,G strings and they were all fine. Also when I pluck it a little harder it does rattle, again I tried this with the others they were fine. Next what I did was start to adjust the bridge with the Allen keys that came with the bass. Nothing done. If so it rattles even more. Now what I discovered was the 1st fret of the D string rattles now not a good sign. Is there anything I can do to make it play rather me giving it to a professional. I already have a set-up booked but just wanted to know if there's anything I can do to save a bit of Dosh. ML
15. Theres a good book which I've been using for a couple of weeks. Its called Reading Rhythm for Electric Bass. It has many different variations and progressively gets harder as you' think. Also if your unsure about a rhythm and no ones about to show you, there's an app called 'Notion' it's really for those who want to compose and what not but it's great because you can type in any rhythm using the handy bars on the top. A great buy !
16. Thanks Guys
17.
Trevor at PMT knows his onions, why don't you want to go there ?
I;ve just heard from many people they don't do a good job. But if he's good I might just take it to him. Do you know what time frame he does it in ? Oh and not forgetting the cost?
18. Does anyone know any other guys who do set ups for a fair price, other than PMT. Someone experienced would be my preference but I'm willing to take it to someone who'd get the job done. (and not run away with my bass) Cheers
19. I'm buying a couple of books and before I forget I need to get a music theory book. It should consist of the standard basics and then as you progress get harder. Something that should help me get my theory up as I've been keeping it to the side recently. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Cheers ML
20. Hi Guys, My initial question is where can I find the Trinity grade 8 bass book ? I've looked on their website and it says 'coming soon' which is a pain in the ass. I've looked amazon and ebay for it but no luck, maybe I'm not looking hard enough ? Also, anyone compared these 2 together. I mean in terms of difficulty and what the overall examination is like ? Imo, the trinity one is the one I would go for as it has real songs that can be performed e.g. Havana, Dream theatre, YYZ. Overall, I think it is much more difficult which is why I would like to attempt it. Anyone tried the trinity grades ? Cheers
21. Have you tried all the other apps using iRig - StompBox, Fender etc ? The stompbox one is quite good for bass but it took some time for me to get using it.
