1. There great Arnt they? I've got a set of the normal nickel ones and they feel great. Is there a shop on his website or is it a requested item?
2. Hi guys Have this set of Thomastik Flats that I have used for about a day now. I just can't get around the sound of it. Paid £70 for them brand new, I think £40 would be reasonable.
3. Actually I will drop him a message and see if I can do a DIY job
4. I tried a 'setup' myself on my fender and that didn't to too well! I just have fret buzz on the first fret and can't even get harmonics out at the 5th fret due to being too low. It dosent amplify the buzz but it's not really pleasant and it sticks to the back of my mind!
5. Oh okay, the first ever guy I had been to kept it a week and said I'll have to monitor the bass for changes. Maybe it was a workload thing?
6. Hi guys My question is Is it possible to set a bass up without the luthier keeping it for a week to notice 'changes'. Trouble is I have only 1 bass and now solidly practicing 5 hours a day and don't really want to stop that for a week. Borrowing another really isn't an option because I don't know anyone. Who has a 6 to borrow

11.
I use nice wide neoprene straps but put the straplock bit on t'other side for the top horn button so the strap ain't twisty on me ;-) Congrats on the acg btw! They're amazing!!
Any chance of a link to the strap your referring to ?
12. Hi guys recently acquired myself a 6 string from Alan and love it! I need some advice on straps. The bass I have has got the strap button on the back instead of the normal on the horn location. For guys who also have the same type, what kind of strap are you using ?

14. Recently purchased a 6 string and have noticed that I have to change up my right hand plucking. Now from how I used to play was keeping my thumb fixed on the pickup or E string and just pivoting my hand dosen't work anymore. I've tried the floating thumb and the other technique using your 3rd and 4th finger to mute the other strings. My question is, is there any other techniques finger style wise that people would recommend or would you just say persevere with the technique ?

23.
Cool. Considering that then, and purely in the interests of feedback, I would say a more fitting tone could be acheived by bringing the neck pickup back to about 25%. It would cut through the mix better, complimenting the bassline, and your fine playing ... that's only my opinion, and it's splitting hairs really.
Cheers! I'll keep that in mind, I'm looking to upload some more Jamiroquai stuff later on!
24.
Nice playing man. Excellent tune too How are the pick-ups/ tone dialled on your Jazz Bass on this recording?
It was full on the back pickup and the tone was around 30%. Front pickup at about 75%. And Thanks
25. I have this Jazz that I am not really keen on shifting but I would like a 6 string. It's been looked after with care since I purchased it last year from guitar guitar in August. Since then it's been the only bass I've had and its perfect. I have it set up with the lowest of possible action without the nasty fret buzz. I have the hard case that comes with it that has the fender brand on there. All the electronics work perfectly as you would expect and there are no dings on the back of the neck. Which brings me to the 2 little notices. Firstly, there is a slight ding on the 3rd fret (pictured). You cannot feel it if I'm honest and has never stopped me playing. It really is an aesthetic thing but it's so small you'd have to peel your eyes to see it. Number 2 is the little dink that is just by the part where you string through the bass (Pictured). This was my mistake when I was restringing it the first time ! It does not effect the bass any way at all. It has a super fast neck that is lovely to play on and is versatile, tone wise. You can pretty much play Motown, Funk and even Acid Jazz stuff like Jamiroquai all with different settings with the tone/pickups and strings. Also comes with the Fender strap and Dunlop strap-locks that are already fitted. Polish cloth included. I can post at buyers expense but I'll deal with that later. Forgot to mention if you'd like to try it send me a PM Here's a little feel for the punchy side of this bass -
