1. I'll definatley try the bass and hope for that thick p bass sound. Already purchased some thomastik flats to go on there. Which pickups would be the best to achieve that thick sound ?
2. Can't stretch that far on student cash A lot of people mentioned they may sound weedy, what would you say to replace them with if mine turns out like that ? The quarter pounder p's or something completely different ?
3. I'm going to gamble and get a mex p bass. Hopefully it'll be one which is on the better end of the scale ... :/
4.
I found these sites last week, pretty useful if you're into jazz . http://www.myrealboo...lbook_index.htn http://www.realbooksite.com http://www.cs.hmc.ed...eller/jazz.html
It'll save me money on buying books !
5. I;d like to know if it is a BC member !
6. That'll do for now Apparently its in the new real book (didn't know there was a 'new' one)
7.
This obviously works. (750,000 views)
What on earth did I just watch ... I have to say playing was nice but I should've closed my eyes and listened.
8.
Lee Ritenour ? I have a transcription at home on my laptop, I'll post it up later.
Cheers mate! Appreciate it !
9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhK0B-B2eDU now the next question is has anyone transcribed it ?
10. its waterwings got it !!
11. Its a latin sort of thing
12. Hi guys this is ripping me apart so please someone put me out of my misery ! So i was shown this jazz standard where there was a beautiful bass melody played at the beginning of it. The main melody is written for bass and its a sort of bass 'feature' (I think). Thing is I cannot remember what it was, I had written down 2 standards and youtubed them but I don't think they are the ones I'm looking for, unless I'm looking at duff videos. Affirmation First Light waterwings Ring any bells to anyone ? Its killing me !
13. Look up Quite Firm - Laurence Cottle That'll get you using all of the strings and memorising the notes
14. Marcus Miller - Boomerang I didn't know he was the one singing that until I watched his master of trades today !
15. I might just gamble now and get one. Obviously if it turns out bad I will blame you all and your powers of persuasion
16.
Lord knows what they think of me then as I've also got two Squiers that I occasionally gig
LOL
17. I guess it is trial before buying. But when your getting them off this website the other guy could be 400 miles away !
18. I'd like to know as well as I'm stuck in a dilemma ! Shall I get a Mex now or save up for an American. Arrrghhhh
19.
It depends. If you've used the original recording as a backing track, then no. If you have created your own backing track or play without a track at all, then yes, you can make money from that.
Making your own backing tracks .... too much effort
20. Sound Samples are now up !
21.
It's probably the best looking ACG that I've seen. I'm not usually a fan if the ACG body shape but this looks really cool, and I do have the cash for it, but I've promised myself a fretless 6 .
DE FRET this one after purchase
22.
HI Can you tell me the string spaces at the bridge please. thanks
18 mm Mate
23.
Ah, just remembered this bass. I nearly went for a trade deal involving this bass with the previous owner and in hindsight its a deal I should have done!
It's up for sale again (here your chance!)
24. I have checked and my 'not so accurate' scales fluctuates between 9.9 and 9.8lbs. As mentioned the bass is beautifully balanced and I'm sure other ACG owners can back me up when I say these instruments really are built with precision!
25.
Weight? Cheers Arpi?
I'm not 100% sure but I had written down somewhere 9.4lbs. I will double check for you. The bass is beautifully balanced e.g. No neck dive or rock solid bodies.
