2. Hey guys, Just letting you guys know if no one hasn't posted yet, Incognito's latest album 'Amplified Soul' is out ! I've been waiting well over a month for it and it's been worth it ! Bass playing is amazing - Richard Bull & Francis Hylton according to http://www.allmusic.com/album/amplified-soul-mw0002639252/credits If anyone could confirm the bass players that would be great ! Nevertheless, brilliant all round.
3. I've just got the latest BIAB and wow oh wow. The sounds are much better than the original version I had which i think was the 2007 model ? All I have to do now is learn how to use the damn thing!

I think the last one was last weeks so one should be coming up soon. I get a text from the organiser and will post it here for you when i know the next date. Jazzyvee
Hey thanks for the reply. I did see there jam sessions but the last one expired about 3 months ago ! Please keep me updates i would love to get together with some of the musicians down there !
8. Hi guys, I'm looking for some jam sessions in the Birmingham area. All the jam sessions that I've found are either for Rockers or have expired !
9. Band in a box has some 'cheesy' sounds which dosen't cut it for me. I also have Ireal Pro which is great for lead sheets and some quick practice with the accompaniment but I'm searching for something that has some great sounds and dosen't sound like its from the 80's.
10. I'm looking for some kind of software which is like band in a box where you can add in chords, type of feel(swing, latin) and your basic stuff to practice along with on a Mac. There are loads of apps on iphones and android but im specifically looking for Mac software. Any heads up would be great
11.
Keep heart mate, I went to college and started my career in Liverpool and then went to live in the busier Manchester scene. It wasn't long before too many trips down the M6 made it the right decision to up sticks (with family and mortgage in tow... 3 kids) today I've done day 1 of rehearsals on a show that may well transfer to the West end and complete a UK tour. All paying my mortgage
Stuff like this really keeps guys like me who are young, upcoming bass players. Going to music college this year and really hoping to learn my craft and be the best I can be. Having someone like yourself prove that it is possible is an inspiration !
12. Taking the grade 8 exam will definitely challenge you. I know the rockschool grade 8 makes you learn the half diminished scales, all major and minor scales, arpeggios up and down (everything 2 octaves). It really does help in the end as you have a new approach to playing and see things in another perspective. Pieces themselves are also challenging if your not familiar with the techniques such as slapping, tapping and so on. Again it's a learning curve and helps you branch out your musical interests. But again, it's a piece of paper saying you've achieved grade 8. You can't turn up to an audition and show them that and expect them to hire you Lol !!! (I know someone who did that)
13.
Have you checked out Thaddaeus Tribbett?
BEAST!
14. Hi guys, After playing at the LG we felt the buzz ! The groove made everyone feel great and the nerves just dropped off. There are pictures and videos of the night and also later on there will be proper HD footage of the gig on the OMG website which we are also looking forward to. Heres our FB page https://www.facebook.com/MinorSixx
15. Hi Guys, I think I posted here before about this gig that our recently formed band (Minor 6) are playing at but didn't have much information and was useless. But now I have all the details and what not so here we go ... Background - Newly formed band only been playing for about 8 weeks together, in this time we worked on arrangements of the tunes we were playing as the instruction was not to cover but to be original and creative. We're all around the 15-19 range, most of us play at our local jazz band that is put on my the local council (or whatever you want to call it). The Gig - Free entry as it states on the website now. I think acts like Union J and Lawson are playing (which I have no clue about but they are big in the pop world?) Starts at 3:30PM and ends roughly 10PM More info - http://www.lgarena.co.uk/whatson/omg-live/ Hope some of you guys can make it as it's a free gig, bring how many people you want oh and also theres going to be some FUNK!

17.
That's the exact type of idiocy and ignorance that beginner bassists don't need to hear. Some people really like to misinform the noobs!
+1 on that. I was just starting up, learning the notes, scales, looking at other types of basses and BANG! That's when I ended up buying a squire (because it wasn't a stingray!)
18. Stingrays are known for their 'cuts through the mix' attribute. Long ago I had a not so very wise bass teacher who told me 'You only play a Stingray when your confident because everyone can hear you'. Since then he took up photography lol!
19. Forgot to mention, as being purchased by Bassdirect you get the 12 month warranty which I still have. Originally bought 03/08/13 theres still a fair few number of months left on the warranty.
20. Pino with D 'Angelo, some of the best grooves. Theres no more of that nowadays ...
21. I will be selling separately if anyone is interested
22.
You can watch a live stream of his upcoming clinic here: https://www.stageit....logy_live/35594
Brillliant !!
23. He's never in the UK or I'd be the first one to ask questions lol
