1. Hey guys, I'm 2 hours into this video (audio only) and the concepts he talks about are worth listening to, even if your not a bass player. He mentions stuff like theory, playing different subdivisions, learning the notes on the bass and general musicianship. Thought I'd give you guys a heads up on it because I've been looking for some stuff by him on Youtube that's longer than a couple of minutes! Enjoy It http://youtu.be/TgiP39nHt1A
2. Bump for newly added photo's and trade option.
3. BUMP, someone buy this rig !
4. http://youtu.be/uHFJ9qhR0VM Such a smooth tone ! what is it ???
5. Anyone have an opinion on the UV range ? I've fell in love with them and heard the youtube reviews. That's the sh*t !
6.
just a heads up for those who dig this band. 7.
Wanna trade my rig for yours??
I'm actually in the midst of getting an Aguilar rig so not really looking for trades unless its for aguilar stuff!
8. If i could ask for those guys who use the SL cabs, did you buy them brand new or wait until one popped on here ?
9. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
10. I thought the deluxe ranges had the block inlays ?
11.
My advice would be to go for as compact and as light a 1x12 as you can find. I've just gone for 2 x Ashdown Mi10 cabs, would be perfect for lugging around on the bus etc. but you might struggle a bit with a single cab. My setup would be one cab at home, two for gigs. As MOSCOWBASS says above, a single 10 will fart out on its own at high volumes. I believe the Mi10 cabs are based on the EA Wizzy 10. I would suggest the Ashdown Mi12 cab, but I know its one of the larger designs on the market, so probably not suited to your needs. Same goes for the Genz Benz Focus 112 unfortunately. Maybe a Schroeder 1x12? As suggested above, they are proper light, and the Mini112 is very compact. I heard a Bareface Midget at the Moffat Bass Bash, and although I've never been a fan of the look or build of the Barefaced cabs, they are constantly improving, and man alive, that Midget REALLY filled the room, I was VERY impressed with that aspect of it, oh and they are insanely light too. Might be worth checking that one of them out? For the record, that was a regular, i.e. non tweetered version and it didn't need one in my opinion. Your other options include an Aggie SL cab perhaps? Cheers, Eude
Im looking at the SL cabs at the min and having a look at where I can have a go on them. They are very pricey but all the reviews/people I;'ve spoke to all rave about them being great and beefy
12. Hi guys, Has anyone tried these SL cabs (I think that's what they're called). There the new range of light weight cabs by Aguilar. I've played through a GS cab with the same head (Tonehammer 500) and love the sound and was thinking if the newer cabs produced the same type of sound being quite small as they are.
13.
There's a notation ocr program called photoscore, made by sibelius's creators. It used to come bundled with sibelius, at least it was up to v6. I havent upgraded since then, so it may have been dropped.
I heard about this but didn't know it was true. Will definitely look up !
14. Been off Ill and other stuff so bumping this back up with the full rig as I really want my hands on an Aguilar Rig
15. Hi guys, Is there any software available which will recognise music notation and input the data itself. What I'm asking for is something like a plug in which are used in sibelius where I could scan in a peice of music and it would create the chart itself without me manually adding everything in ? I know i'm being lazy but it would be a great help !
16. To learn the notes all you have to do is sit down and learn them. What sped the process up for me was ... - Shout the note out loud - Find it on all of the strings - If there is an accidental involved, go up in #'s and come back down in b's - Carry on doing it for a while and voila ! Another thing that helped me was playing the grooves I knew in certain positions and moving them up to the next position. I think Scott Devine's website has a lesson called 'Stuck in one area of the fretboard'. That'll do you wonders!
17. That Jill Scott album is immense. Is that the one with 'The Way' ? brilliant bass playing and arrangement
18. This might go off at a tangent but ... Where do you guys buy your strings for ? At the minute I;m using D'Addarios (EXL) which I have used for over 6 months now. I like the sound, how long they last and most of all I can get a 4/5 string set for around £20 on Amazon. I've heard good things about the Elixir strings but they're going to cost me back quite. (I buy strings every month because I get through them at an alarming rate !)
19. I;ve always loved the Gospel 'sound', chord progressions and the grooves that you can kick out. I'm not christian or anything myself but I love the music they create. I'm just stuck on where to start looking for some good stuff e.g. albums, tracks. I know the players e.g. Sharay Reed, Thaddieus and so on. its just getting my hands on some of the recordings and hear how the bass is playing, work some stuff out. Any ideas ?
20.
Does this speaker weigh the same as 2 or 3 feathers??? I need to keep something on top of my 1x12 to stop it floating away... Any idea of the real weight??

What ohm does the cab run at? Look for something to pair with my Mark Bass NY121 cab.
Hey guys its 46lbs and runs at 8ohm
21. I'll check out inter parcel right now.
22.
Why not post a thread asking "Is anyone travelling from Brum to.....?" Then ask the BCer to take it.
It's a great idea but I just wouldn't be comfurtable sending it off with someone I don't know, if you know what I mean.
