2. Think I will be going down the DIY route when I get a free weekend. I will never use this on a day to day basis as I know that everything it hits (car, walls, tanks) always fair off worse, but it is useful to have around for when I inevitably get some GAS and want to move it on. Not got an electric carving knife but will keep my eyes open for one.
3.
And a week in, how is it?
Its been a busy week for many reasons so I haven't hammered this as much as I would have liked. Had an SS2 turn up from the Netherlands so that has taken some of my free time up too. So far I'm really digging it. It doesn't have quite the growl of the Warwicks I've gone through recently but it has a really clear tone and the EQ is very usable. Little boost on the bass pot can really give some extra warmth to the tone. Really impressed with the quality of the finish, took a little tweaking to get the neck where I like it and I have a feeling that I might well end up going for a slightly different string as these I think are adding to the brightness sound at the moment. Quite like the pick up switching, if I remember right it goes neck solo, both parallel, both series, bridge. I might have got the middle two the wrong way round.... I probably have.... I'm used to have a pan switch on the bass so its been different to have set functions. They are all quite usable tones. I definitely prefer the big sound of using both pickups though compared to a single. The quality of the woods and everything seems really good also, being inquisitive I have had the neck off and pickguard. The pick up routing surprised me but I get the feeling I could easily make a triple bucker version if I wanted in the near future. See the photo below to understand what I mean. Neck pocket is very tight and I can't find any blemishes in the finish, overall a really solid bass. Hopefully get to try it with the band in the next couple of weeks as we are on a litle break whilst we find a new rehearsal space. Have a mate who has just got a little home recording device so will try and maybe get a sound sample in the not too distant future.
4. No liner. Foam is disintegrating every time you touch it.
5. Hi all, Had a look around and can't see a recent thread for this. Has anyone had any experience recently either making their own insert or with sourcing an affordable company to make one? Just got a bass in a trade and the case is more or less knackered. There is just as much shards of foam on my floor as there is in the case. Would like to retain it as otherwise its in good condition but wouldn't want to spend £100 when I know I can get a new case for much much less.
6.
I'm ready to get rid of the spring on the low B's saddle on this one too, if that's what you're referring to!
I had to do that on my 'vette too. Thought it might ave just been me.
7. Not the most flattering photo. But a good start. First impressions are good. Had to dig out a 9/64 hex key (damn Canadians) to adjust the truss rod but slowly getting it to where I want to it be for my slightly heavy handed style.
8. Dingwall is currently sat on the back seat of my car waiting for my work day to end. Will get some shots and report back after some tinkering in a couple of days.
9. Thanks to all those who got in touch and I'm sorry we were unable to do a deal. Cheers Jon
10. Right I'm not likely to be on here on a PC for the next week (might have mobile access) but I have a final offer price of £1800 + P&P. If no sale has been agreed by the new year I will withdraw this. Get your Christmas cash/trades in quick or this goes out of site for the near future.
11. If only this had five strings. Beautiful playing. Have a bump.
12. Wow. That is a beauty and such a shame. Hope someone gets it back to a playable state.
13.
Still trying to part with my Martin acoustic.....fingers crossed I can get her back.
Hope the acoustic finds a new home soon.
14.
Well, as I've gone crawling back to Warwick for my main workhorse, I may as well update here! '96 Streamer Bolt On (pre LX), previously owned by Sambucadan on here.
That is beautiful. Think I need to update my collection on this thread. Maybe tomorrow.
15. Okay ladies and gents. Decided the deadline will be Christmas for pulling this so put together our final offers or i'll have to hide her out of sight for a while.
16. Bought a re-amp box off of Steve. Very easy guy to deal with. Packed and shipped next day. Arrived very well packed. Would happily recommend.

18. Bump. EDIT: New bass arrives in two weeks. Might already have saved enough to fund it. In which case this will come off of the market. If you want it. Be quick.
