1. Not the best picture, but this is what ive been using: Slowly been building up to this, thought it'd be perfect for the things I want to do, aaaaand....no. Thinking of having a big overhaul and probably downsizing too. The oxide and rat tail arent doing it for me, the schism seemed right on paper but im just not getting the results i was expecting, and im still searching for the overdrive for me. I miss the days when I wasnt fussy.

Jackhammer sold. Just the tremolo left now.
  3.
+1 Always stick compression at the end of your chain...
Depends what sound you want. I hate having a compressor at the end of my chain as I find it muffles my dirt pedals and takes the life out of them. Really dont like it.
Top row, second pedal.
Cheers
and how harsh can it get
Tbh I havnt checked its limits, though I think the depth can be adjusted internally. The toggle switch changes the wave shape too from smoother to choppy, so I reckon you could adjust it to get pretty harsh. I'll be able to test it out but I wont have chance to do it for a few days.
  5. Top guy to do business with. Received money quick and easy, good comms, no problems! Easy. Cheers!

    Chorus on hold.
I use a Marshall Jackhammer a LOT! Vastly underrated pedal especially for £30!
Yeah, its surprisingly good on bass! Plenty of low end on tap with the eq, and a decent drive for its price.

So its time to thin the herd again and make some space. Not looking for any trades as I need the money for moving out in the near future! All pedals have velcro on the bottom except the Red Dragon, and all have their boxes except the SFX pedals. Bank transfer preferred, Paypal is good. All prices include postage. Right then, we have: [s]Analogman Mini Chorus - this is the version with deep mod and blend, you all know about this - SOLD[/s] [s]Foxrox Octron 2 - Probably my favourite octave pedal, but I dont need the features anymore so cant justify its size - SOLD[/s] [s]SFX Micro Red Dragon - Tiny dirty boost pedal, top quality as always from Max. Not needed since change of amp - SOLD[/s] [s]SFX S&M - Great for clean blending or mixing signals, just not using it anymore - SOLD[/s] [s]Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter - Versatile phaser with a lovely thick sound. Central graphics slightly faded - SOLD[/s] [s]Babyface Tremolo - Tiny trem in a custom 'worn' enclosure I nabbed on ebay - SOLD[/s] [s]Marshall Jackhammer - Its old and battered, but in perfect working order. Take it off my hands - SOLD[/s] Any questions, just ask! Cheers.
  13. Ahh thats a bit of a buggar. Ive had a love/hate relationship with my M9 over the years. I kept switching between it and single pedals, sometimes because I wasnt using many effects so wanted to cut down the bulk, sometimes because I just really didnt want the bulky power supply! I kept coming back to it though because its just such a useful pedal. Ive only had about 15 mins with the Rat Tail so far, but yeah I like it. Still got that classic Rat sound, but it can be tweaked to taste with the clipping switch and the hi/lo clipping knobs. Need to spend more time with it but I like what I hear so far.
  14.
Lovely board there, mine is going to look very, very similar when I get it together. Gas'ing for an Aguilar Octamizer to add to try against my OC-3. How much did your Rat Tail come to imported?
Cheers mate. Yeah ive noticed that from some other threads, great minds think alike! How you been getting on with the M9? I think the price of the Rat Tail was about £125 posted, then £20 import vat and handling. Took about 2-3 months to come through though as he makes pedals in batches.
  15. Just got my Rat Tail in the post today, which now leaves me with this: Ive stripped it down and got some new cable so I can hopefully sort it all out properly tomorrow. Signal chain goes: EB VP-jr Multicomp B3k Schism --- Channel 1 - Hoof Fuzz --- Channel 2 - Oc-2 > TAFM > Xero > Rat Tail Line 6 M9 Ive had the Schism about a month now and its one of the most useful pedals ive used. Its allowed me to create more sounds with the same pedals by having the different blending and switching options. This board does everything I need but I cant help but think it feels very...'talkbassy'. I need some mojo in there!
  16. I think with the Moog and SA Distortion, you'd be looking at a PT-2 maybe? Try http://www.pedalboardplanner.com/. Its not all that accurate but it can get you in the right ball park.
  17. I have all my EQ set to 9:00. It feels so wrong to look at at! I dont like the mids on the OTB so I cut them to give me a smoother, fatter sound. The bass booms out far too much for me so I have to cut that down too to stop it drowning everything out, and I always cut treble on my bass and amp.
  18. One of my favourite fuzzes with an octave to get that synth sound is actually the MXR Blowtorch. I dont like the pedal on its own, but kick that octave in and I think it sounds awesome. Same thing with the Oxide too. On its own i find it too boxy and spitty, but its great for the good ol' octave > fuzz > filter combo.
  19.
Got myself a TAFM today and ebay/basschat permitting I will have an M9 soon too. Really looking forward to how my set-up is shaping up. After playing with them both at length, I've also decided to keep my Xerograph Deluxe as my only filter and to shift my Proton
Sounds like we've got quite similar setups here. Awesome!
I'd be keen to hear what you think of it when you've had a chance to play with it - have been quite keen on one of these for my board!
I picked one up myself just last week. Ive only had a little play with it but im liking what I hear. Ive always been a big muff fan, and I can still cop a similar tone with the TAFM. The sound can be tightened up though and almost sound gated, so theres definitely some versatility there. I need to spend a bit more time with it but I'd recommend it for sure.

    Line 6 M Series

I guess it depends how much you like your modulation. The delays and reverbs are great on this and thats the main thing I use it for, particularly with its versatility and tap tempo. Modulation is...ok. I rarely use it so it gets me by, but I can understand others finding it a bit uninspiring.
  21. Just bought a pedal off RK. Received it straight away and everything was just as described. Top man and an easy transaction. Cheers!
  22.
if it's smooth you want, the Blowtorch is ideal, with three band eq.
I wouldnt call the Blowtorch smooth at all. Its a very buzzy, synthy fuzz.
The new MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe may be worth a look also, it's a Tonebender type fuzz with separate wet/dry volume controls.
Id go for this one too. Ive had a Tonebender clone before and it had that big, smooth sound that you're after. Ive not tried the MXR but it looks ideal.
  23.
Well the £/$ conversion means the El Capistan is around £188, so comparable to the TC stuff price-wise I'd say......just that TC is more widely available over here without horrible postage/customs charges Si
They're retailing for £249 over here. Looks perfect for what I want, but not in a million years am I paying that price!
  24. How about the Badger Effects Schism? http://www.badgereff...com/paraxv.html Ive had an eye on this recently, not sure on the price though.
  25. Do GigRig do any adapters for AC pedals? I couldnt see anything on their site for it so im gonna guess not. I hate the power supply for my Line 6 M9 but havnt found anything else that can power it.
