2.
Nick has raised a point, Is there any other pedals in your chain Doug that might be the cause? Have you tried it with any other basses?
thanks for the replies guys. I seems like I've got a dud. I don't use any other pedals before the BD121, even when I was trying to 'protect' it by putting a limiter infront it still clipped really bad. also, if I took a line straight out of the limiter or even straight from the bass into the desk (to test the pups for problems) it all sounded like it should. Cheers, D
 3.
Amybe your bass is too loud for it. Got actives?
Thanks for your reply Mr. Foxen - I should have been clearer about that. I'm using a Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz with P and J pickups. The fault is worse when using the P pup so I think that the big hits from the bottom end are overloading the behringer but its a passive bass so I wouldn't have thought it would have been a problem. There must be much more powerful pups out there! cheers, D
 4. hi folks- a quick question about the controversial snansamp bass driver clone the BD121. I got one of these to try it out and my results are that it sounds VERY GOOD but there is a major fault. when the drive dial is turned past about 40% or the signal peaks through hitting a few big notes I get a digital sounding clpping noise. its a bit like a 'chirp', but not at all musical or even useable. any one else had the same experience? given the price I would buy another one (and test it in the shop) if this is a one off fault but if its a common problem then I guess I have to put it down to experience and start saving up for that sansamp! cheers guys, doug.
 5. thanks for the link Jake, Aphex says: For all types of basses with magnetic or piezo pickups, active or passive. Voicing is tailored to deep tone & sustain while adding life to the the bite or slap. Smaller rigs sound big; big rigs sound huge! What users say is that it it develops extra under and overtones based on your tone so you get a thicker fuller sound without more 'volume' - you basically take up more of the mix so you sound bigger. The bottom end part develops extra bass frequencies based on your sound without having to turn up your amp - your sound gets bigger and thicker and sounds louder without needing a louder amp. The Enhancer does a similar job at the top end, so you get more bite, clarity and headroom. their website explains it well here http://www.aphex.com/204.htm - (the link is to the 203 rackmount version, but the pedal is the same thing tuned for bass guitars in a stomp box format.)

 7. Hi I've decided to part with this cool little box. Its in 100% immaculate condition and has only been used to test that it works - which it does very well. As I'm not using it I can't justify keeping it since I'm now seeking a compressor. Price is £50 plus £5 for postage. Would definitely be interested in a swap or PX for a good compressor... BBE Opto Stomp in particular. It looks like this:
 8. sorry not looking to buy (i.e. can't afford it!) but I once had one of these and I have to say they are bloody excellent.
 9. head now sold - subject to a try before you buy session.

 13. not yet - still waiting for a new home!
hay man has the head gone yet?
14. hi mate a split is fine with me. I think a courier would cost about £20 (with someone like DHL through parcel2go). let me know if that's any good for you.
If you're prepared to split I'd be interested in the 2x10, depending on cost of delivery.
15. cab and head both sold. thanks guys This is an excellent small rig and packs a hell of a punch. The head does 450w at 2 ohms but with this cab kicks out 350w. This is the last head to be made in the legendary factory in Meridian Mississipi, famed for making near indestructable amps, as the new peavey heads are now made in China. Here are links to both products at the peavey site for full details: the head the cab Also, in case anyone is worried that the head is too powerful for the cab, read this from peavey on matching their heads and cabs: . There is also the DDT speaker protection for peace of mind. This is a powerful, very reliable and compact rig that will do the business in any situation and if you really need the full 450 watts its an easy job to hook up another cab... 300w from this is enough for any gig I've done in real life though (not my imaginary gigging life where I play stadiums with no PA, that is). Pics will come soon but they basically look exactly like the new ones on the peavey website etc. I bought them for a band project that never really got started so they've never been gigged and only used once or twice for rehearsals. The prices are £200 for the head, £100 for the cab. That makes £300 for the pair. Delivery will be at the buyer's expense or can arrange for local delivery / collection around Newcastle. cheers, D. 16. SOLD them both a 4U SKB rack case? Very hard wearing, been gigged no cracks or breaks. Black pastic job with clip off front and back. Like the one in the pic but with the older blue logo. Price... £25 a 1U rackmount DOD SR series stereo EQ. Its currently in the above rack but I'll have a look and get some spec for you. Looks like the one below. price ... £25 You guessed it £50 for the pair! all postage to be covered by the buyer. both the case and the EQ are in good working condition and will be a handy addition to someone's rig / PA. cheers, Doog.
