17.
i like the smaller neck and body...
I said this until the 'Ray appeared. Go fat, you know you want to!
 18. chris_b's 55-94, even if it does have too many strings
 19.
If you want to be 100% safe the best advice is to go wireless and always use an RCD with your gear. The wireless transmitter makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get lethal voltages through your guitar. The RCD will protect you against faults on other equipment. There's a PDF file about shielding a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass on the guitarnuts website here http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/shielding/bass.php If you can't get that site to open them PM me with your email address and I'll forward the PDF to you.
Ah, I'm in now and it's making sense, cheers.
 20.
try this link for tips http://www.tunemybass.com/strings/bass_gui...trings_faq.html
What an excellent idea, ta.
 21.
Not only is this a potential shock problem, (either DC or AC from the amp) but it also turns your strings into an aerial. Its a cheap way of keeping hum levels down rather than shielding the cavities properly.
So, good cavity shielding (both pup, control & back of scratchplate presumably) & bin the earth strap - is that the way I read it? (I can't get the guitar nut site to open). Ta.
 22. And now it's 'Assault Attack' by MSG. Chris Gen rocks.
 23. The Hanson Brothers - 'Brad' EP
 24. System Of A Down - 'Chop Suey' (where's that plectrum?) Foos - 'The Pretender' RATM - 'Know Your Enemy'
 25. For what it's worth, I've just acquired an old 'Ray and the thing that does it for me is the fat neck - it feels so much easier to give it some welly than the Geddy Lee's. That and there's something 'organic' (listen to me, what a hippy) about playing a large, heavy slab of wood. I don't seem to need to use me pedals (compression & tuner excepted) or eq the amp anymore either. Wish I'd known this a few years ago.
