1. Hi all, For sale is my Ashdown MAG410 Deep cabinet. It's about two years old, has seen many gigs and is road worn to that affect. It's always been reliable as hell, apart from a faulty horn which has been replaced by Ashdown (I have the repair receipt too). I'm sure most people know the specs, but power handling is 450W RMS, 8ohm, and weighs in the region of 30-37kg. I've tried to detail the condition of the cab as best I can in the photos, collection or meet up in Essex only please. Any questions, please ask away
2. My first bass was a Marlin Swordfish. I'm trying to find one again for nostalgia purposes, I'd love to hear how it sounds again.

4.
Another who's used an Ibanez GSR200 here, as well as my Precision. I've actually taken my Ibanez down to BEAD when my 5 string was f*cked, without any issues whatsoever. Liam
My Ibanez is currently in BF#BE and it's fine - I am using the lowest four strings from a 5-string set though

6. My Epi Thunderbird handles drop C absolutely fine, as does my Ibanez GSR200 and virtually any other bass I've played over the last year. I use Dunlop Stainless Steels .105 gauge for my low string and it sounds brilliant. As chrismuzz said, I wouldn't go any less than a .110 gauge string though - I'm purely using a .105 as I haven't found the time to file down the nut on my Thunderbird so a .110 would actually fit through. Getting a decent setup done would be extremely beneficial too.
7. I swear by my Tour 700, loud and reliable, sure it weighs a bit but it's more than manageable. The sound when running the EQ flat is good, but any EQ'ing I tend to rely on my Sansamp PBDI for. Played it once through a TX410 but didn't really get on with it too well, but the newer TVX210 I tested in a shop was brilliant.
8. A huge amount of people online think that Johnny Cash wrote 'Hurt', and that Nine Inch Nails covered it, but of course it's the other way round.
9. As much as I'd like to keep two 410s, the worsening state of my back and my car leads me to off the MAG. chris_b: Peavey Tour 700 and I play metal with both my bands, and unfortunately, 500W at 8ohms from the Peavey just doesn't cut it with hard hitting drummers and two guitarists in each band - that extra 200W from running a 4ohm load makes all the difference.
10. Hello all, I've recently acquired an Ashdown ABM 410 as an upgrade from my MAG 410 and I'm very pleased with it indeed. Now that I have a spare 410, I may be trading it with another BC'er for a Hartke VX115. Anyone know how these two cabs will sit together in regards to any differences in tone and sound? Ta
11. Bought three sets of Dunlop stainless steel strings from Michael and couldn't recommend him as a seller enough. Quick and helpful with his messages and replies, got the bits posted out quickly and most importantly, it all turned up as described with no issues at all. Buy with confidence
12.
I use the Senheisser Freeport. Had it 5 years. Never a problem. Andy
Ditto, I've borrowed a Freeport from a friend numerous times over the past year, never had a single problem with it, even with the antenna on the receiver gaffa taped up as the wire had been stripped.
13. The temptation is so great, in my town, a brilliant price...but a lot heavier than I'm able to manage, on my own at least...
14. Bump, want this gone ASAP due to my incoming Thunderbird IV Classic in September.
15. A while ago, a friend of mine gave me her Encore E4 Blaster due to her not playing it anymore. I took it off her hands with the intention of having it as a project bass, and as I've been hankering for a good precision for a while now, and after seeing some of the wonderful custom P-bass builds you fine folk have done, I think it's time I looked into starting on it. As a complete newbie to this, I'm thinking of the following mods: replacing the neck (a good, preferably unbranded one with the intention of spraying my band's logo on the headstock), putting some nice looking tuners on it as I'm not keen on the butterfly style ones, new pickups (going to stick with passive electronics for the time being) so hopefully I can keep the wiring inside the same (or possibly changing the pots too), and maybe a custom scratchplate, or no scratchplate at all, while keeping the body the same, save for a possible spray. Hopefully, it isn't a completely stupid idea, and I will actually be able to turn a cheap starter bass into something brilliant, so any tips, recommendations, must-buys, stuff to avoid, etc, advice for me?
16. It's only just hitting home but my band Walk In Coma are supporting Welsh post-hardcore giants Funeral For A Friend tonight in our home county of Essex. The venue is The Mill Arts Centre in Rayleigh, so if any Essex folk are about and like a bit of hard rock and metal, come down! Tickets will be available on the door for £15 and doors open around 7pm. As some of you can imagine, opening for a huge band like this is a massive opportunity and is a huge, huge deal for us. Our biggest gig yet, I'm terribly excited and petrified at the same time! Any nerve-killing advice for me?
17. I've got an Encore P-bass copy laying about at home, so I'll swap over the jack sockets tonight - I can't remember if my mate already tried that but I'll give it a shot. @Al_Heeley, the pickups are passive, no battery required. Cheers for the replies gents, I'll grab a few photos this evening before hitting the studio.
18. Morning all, To summarise, I've been having no end of problems with my ESP LTD B-15 recently. The problem is a 90% loss of volume from the bass, it's been to a local guitar shop for repair twice now, the first time it was "re-wired", the second time I didn't get an explanation as to how it had been fixed. It's fine for a few days, then it'll crap out on me again. Getting a bit fed up, I took it to a friend who's knowledgeable on these kind of things and unfortunately he couldn't find an explanation either. He got it working again, played it for a few hours, then when I came to pick it up, it had gone again. He's tried everything, short of replacing the pots and pickups. As pots are the cheaper option, I'm prepared to buy a replacement set in the hope that that solves the problem for good. So, in short...can anyone tell me what I need to buy and where from? Many thanks
19.
£282 for either from Dawsons.
Lovely stuff, cheers
