1. Well, the bass didn't sell on eBay. Will have to try again another time, I guess.
 2.
It's not actually a Stetson. It looks more Australian in design, but it was the biggest leather hat I could find.
I like it! Nice photo, too. You look cool
 3.
I finally had to make myself a hat stretcher to get a leather Stetson to fit me.
oooooo..... leather Stetson.... nice
 4.
Time likes to make you look like your head's on upside down.
I bet a lot of those guys are wearing hair extensions to make them appear as if they have more hair than they really do
 5. Your story was an interesting read. Glad you are leading a happy and productive life. Always nice to hear these things!
 6.
The ousting of Jon Anderson while he was seriously ill put me right off them as well to be honest. The band, and Squire in particular, lost any respect I had for them with the way they treated him.
I agree with you. I'm more drawn to the older YES albums, like Close To The Edge and Relayer. Don't even get me started on Chris Squire....
 7. Hi, Chris, I won't be of much help since I'm only learning, but just wanted to welcome you to BC.
 8. Hi, Julien I have a music producer friend who lives in France in Lorgues. Are you anywhere near there? The reason I ask is that he has a 2nd CD coming out from his band, but I know his bass player lives in Italy, so he might be interested in someone who lives closer. The band is MultiFuse. My husband (bass player) played the bass on their first CD. Cheers.
 9. Hello, Eljay, from another American, but I'm on the correct side of the pond. I was an eastcoast USA girl. Glad you enjoyed your time in England. Cheers
 10.
Now you're talking, though sadly I've only seen him once, a long time ago at the Hammersmith Odeon.
It's great that you got to see him, though. In the old days he was known to do trampoline stuff and acrobatics on stage during performances. lol A lot of people don't realize he used to play with Neil Young's group, which he joined when he was a teenager. He played the piano and guitar on "After the Gold Rush". Since he grew up in my home state of Maryland, local radio made sure to play his music when he formed the band Grin. He's not only a good musician, but a great guy, too, from what I hear others say who've worked with him.
 11. Save the bass, buy my car. lol If anyone has friends on the eastcoast of America who are into classic muscle cars and considering buying one as a project, please let me know. Then Tom won't sell his bass.
 12. I have no clue about whether it's inherited or not; however, musicians were dominant in both sides of my family. Most of my dad's relatives played instruments, my dad played (or tried to) the ukelele. All my brothers played instruments. My mom's side also did (all my cousins and their father). In fact, my mom's brother used to play trombone in a band down on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Went there to see him. Now my nephew's in a popular band that just finished touring all over the USA.
 13.
The first album (KIck Inside) is very inventive and 'The Man WIth The Child In his Eyes' is always a goose-pimple inducing song for me.
I play that one on regular guitar in order to sing it. Always loved that song, too. I never knew much about Kate Bush until I came over here, but really love her music. When she paired up with Peter Gabriel for "Don't Give Up", it had me all misty-eyed. That's still one of my favourite songs ever.
 14. I'd probably only go to a Springsteen concert to watch Nils Lofgren play. There are only a few songs of Bruce's that I like. Would be much better to just wait until Nils Lofgren tours on his own. I remember when Nils played at our local high schools. Any American gigging over here should take the time to know the laws.
 15. Welcome aboard. Nice video
 16.
He can make it UK only, for collection only and do a buy it now or best offer price. Having done a bit of research, I think he should put it on for £3000 and see what offers come in. The trouble is generally that nobody has any money at the moment.
He listed his last one as Collection Only and still people ignored those words and were only interested in it getting shipped. I hear you about the money situation Thanks for doing the research, though, that was very thoughtful of you! He'll be happy to know you recommended £3000 Worth a try, eh? I'm still hoping my car sells soon in the USA so he won't have to lose the Musicman. There's someone who wants the vehicle but has to sell their own truck first. I'd secretly buy Tom's bass to hold it for him, but I think he'd notice the money missing from our bank account.
 17.
Hi, I'm still lusting after this bass but bearing in mind your predicament, can I suggest you put it on Ebay too? I think you could easily get £2500 at least for it.
Thanks for the advice I will tell Tom you suggested that. He isn't too fond of eBay, as the last time he sold a bass on there he was inundated with responses which asked him to ship it to another country. He hates shipping his basses because it risks getting damaged (based on our prior experience with other items that became damaged upon arrival, despite being packed extra well). I do think he'll go that route, though, if there are no takers here. He hates losing the bass, so he isn't in much of a rush yet. I can't blame him.
 18.
Bit late to the party but I wanted to say welcome to the UK and to Basschat. There's a few of us bass playing girlies on here So come on in, the water is lovely
Very nice of you, SpaceChick, thanks so much!
 19. Sounds like an interesting life. Welcome to BC!
 20.
Haha Black Sabbath, another band I've only recently come to appreciate Geezer is quite phenomenal and underrated giving what band he's in. Awww that's sad but really sweet, you seem to make a great couple by the sounds of it and think very highly of one another, besides spoiling him at Christmas well we've been together almost 5 years now and still going strong through thick and thin Where you come from sounds amazing, I don't eat fish (or eggs ) but just the smell of some of this food would make my mouth water no doubt XD It seems in a sense you miss living there, do you?and I take it your a fan of food and cooking? BSB
Sounds like you and your girl definitely have a good thing going. That's so great to hear. I've only known Tom for 7 years, only married for 3 (took a while with organizing the immigration and all). You said you don't eat fish or eggs, so are you a vegetarian? I come from a long line of famous bakers in my ancestry, so cooking just comes natural to me. My mother was known for her cooking back in our old neighborhood. To answer your question, yes, I miss Maryland very much. Last time I was there was in 2010 to bury my mom, so wasn't a very happy trip. Tom also loves Maryland and the food there. We had fantastic times when he'd fly over to visit me years ago. I'd drive around in my old 1972 Buick Skylark GS as we sampled various restaurants. He wouldn't mind moving there. But it isn't feasible to do so with the high cost of healthcare back in the states. However, it's tempting when I see how cheap houses and land are.... and I do miss our big rooms back home, wider stairways, nice closet space, etc... I could write a long list of what I miss. lol But it's safer over here in England. I don't have to worry about guns. I also love the weather temperature here. Don't have to worry about tornadoes and hurricanes.
