2. only problem is that there aren't a huge amount of quality Les Paul / SG basses. See if he'll take some other shapes and then he's got a load of fantastic basses for that price range.
3. I'd recommend anything by Ashdown personally, their Electric blue combos are pretty decent for the money. Should be loads of stuff for under £200 in the amps for sale section of this site too
4. Well I'm sorry but I have no idea how I'd package this cab- maybe you've got some family or friends in the area who would drop it off for you? Just a thought.
5. I think it might be the angle you're plucking with as mentioned above, you'll want to aim to play across the string instead of through it towards the body. If you pluck as you would normally but in slow motion you'll be able to see if you're dragging the string to the fretboard with your stroke, and if so you can compensate by hitting it more laterally. Also it might be that you've got your amp at the same volume as when you're playing with a pick- a pick is naturally louder than fingers in my experience so it might just be that you're having to play harder to get the same volume. It'll all come with practice though!
6. bumpacles. Will happily consider part ex against a rack case/rack tuner/rack compressor (or even all three!)
7. (From the questions bit at the bottom) "You should get 2 grand at least" Hmm. Not sure about that.... especially if the electronics are buggered (as the ad hints towards) Nice lookin bass though
8.
Noel's referring to the fingerboard/fretboard (being a committed member of the Junior Pedants League, I only use the term "fretboard" to refer specifically to a fretted instrument ), touchboard isn't a very commonly used term but is correct in this context. It's more commonly used in reference to instruments like the Chapman Stick or Warr, where it's descriptive of the intended playing techniques. Jon.
Aaah! I see now! Wasn't having a go Noel, I was just unaware of what you were refering to But yeah it looks a bit light to me, like it's been sanded down?
9.
Er, what's he done to the touchboard?
The what, sorry? Also, bit on the pricey side isn't it? I'd have thought 2000€ tops?
10. Oh wow, hello tech21! Good to have another manufacturer on the forum To philipleonard I've only got experience with the BDDI but it's a really good pedal, you can get some fantastic tones out of it
11.
The GS cabs are slightly more midrange and 'clean' to my ears. The DB cabs look and sound a bit more vintage, to my ears! Lawrie
Hmm, in my (limited) experience, the DBs seem to have more of a mid-hump than the GSs... How strange! Love my GS410 though- brilliant piece of kit although I'm adding a 1x15 to get a bit more arse end out of it
12. recently gone off the "upmarket" basses but that's chuffing lovely!
13. I think it comes down to how much versatility you want. If you're willing to fiddle with the controls and you have no issue with the looks (I don't either btw ) then I'd say the bongo, if you just want a bass you set once and don't touch the controls again then I'd say the precision. Just my opinion of course
14. Ooh, also- PIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCSSSSSSSSSS!
15. ah that's a shame, I was hoping it'd be a 5er. Saying that I was thinking of doing the same thing with that bass when I first saw it haha! Contacted Mr Shuker about it and everything! Bet it sounds lush
16.
Hi all, Would anybody be interested in a 2006 warwick thumb fretted bass bolt on ( LEFTHANDED) ? Not totally sure of letting it go yet, its a bit of a feeler possible house purchase may force sale. Regards Patch
4 or 5 strings?
17.
Don't do it. Pre EB basses are wonderful and super rare in lefty flavour.
I agree completely but I feel like a precision might get more play-time and suit my band more... I want to see what's out there!
18.
Stingray no longer for sale as my finances have imprived somewhat
I've been thinking and I might be interested in trading it for a 70s Fender Precision if anyone fancies it.
19. want rid now as I've got a replacement, price drop once more

Just bought his Aguilar GS410, really easy to deal with and even dropped it off for me, what a legend!
