1.
I had exactly the same setup for five or six years - it's good, reliable UK-built gear. I think you have to put a price on it though - not just invite offers. GLWTS
Thought I did, whoops, amended. €200 ONO.
2. FS €200: as the title says, my Laney DP150 4x10 cab and head. I've taken delivery of an EBS Gorm, so it's forcing the sale of this. It's got a great sound, and has a few nicks and scratches (it's 20+ years old) but in full working order 9 Band EQ, Noise gate, Limiter, 2 line outs etc. Looking for reasonable offers cashwise, or trade for a bass of similar value. I'm based in Ireland as most know, so shipping isn't really an option. Cracking amp!
3. Love EMG. My Kramer has the MMCS pickups ( 9v ) and it sounds amazing through the EBS! Crisp and a helluva lot of punch! I want to put the 35HZ into the fleabass, and maybe JHZ's in the SJB down the line!
4. Got the amp. Sounds brilliant, there is an issue, but seems to be the gain pot..... Sound may fade, and fiddle with gain and it will come back. Really impressed with the sound from it! ( Al for the bargain price of €50 )
5. I have the opportunity later, to buy one for very little money. The current owner says it is fussy (Sometimes it works and sounds great, other times it doesn't ) What do ye think? Could it be something as simple as a switch? Or maybe a capacitor or two, or even the whole PSU? I'm going to test it later, any info appreciated as I'm not familiar with this amp. Cheers!
6. Strings are brand new. Unplugged they sound bright, but the PUP just does't pick it up with any volume. It picks it up barely, but with no balls or volume. I'll try rotating them 180 during the week. EDIT - I'll try a different E string on it, just for the fact it could well be a dud. Brain Fart moment before I posted topic.
7. Apologies if this has been covered, I couldn't find it. I have a Stellah SJB ( Jazz Copy ) and the ONLY fault I have with the bass is the fact that the low end is non existent. ( It doesn't seem to pick up the E string ) Every other string is boomy, and really does sound great, but the E is like a whisper, which is a shame as the bass otherwise sounds great. I have raised he PUPS, lowered the action and this didn't help. It makes no odds which pickup or both are turned up, or the tone shifted, the E still whispers. I'm guessing it's a pickup issue, and nothing else. If so, what budget Jazz Pickups are of decent quality? I'm thinking wilkinsons again. Any thoughts or opinions? Cheers BCers!

10. Now, I do buy stuff off ebay, but NEVER an instrument. I do browse though, and found this! http://www.ebay.com/itm/FENDER-SQUIRE-P-BASS-4-STRING-20TH-ANNIVERSARY-/350483582364?pt=Guitar&hash=item519a730d9c
11.
Their diy kits look very interesting.
They do indeed!! Was thinking of getting the P-kit for a full custom paint job now I have time to do one
12. Having FINALLY played this through my own cab, the ONE criticism I have is that the E string needs more oomph. The pickups are slightly lower over the E and need to take the guard off to rectify. Boosting the low end on the DP150 fixed it for rehearsals, but I'll need to adjust pickup height. VERY boomy mids, and nice highs. I'd buy another sometime for a complete custom paint job, and I have a great idea @rallyeluke Have you taken delivery yet?
13.
What are the strings like on your Vintage? The ones on my VTBM were absolute sh*te and needed urgent replacement to get a great sound.
The were dead strings for a long time as it's a backup backup bass. New strings and proper set up should have it sounding good soon!
14. Strings going on my project Wed, looking forward to setting it up and seeing how it plays after a proper set up! Must set up the Fleabass and SJB aswell actually while I'm at it!
15. Even the Modern Player Jaguar has seriously dragged me in....... Gah, decisions decisions!! Local music shop will match Thomann prices too. Hmmmmm!!!
16. Getting a Squier raher than Fender. From 99% of squiers I have played, I can't fault them at all, and compared to the price of Fenders in Ireland, why pay 2-3 times more? Question is, which one? Brand snobbery is something I couldn't care about ( As my lineup shows ) . One day I will have a higher end bass, when I win the lotto..... but until then, what are your fav Squier models ( 4-stringers )? Thanking ye!!

20.
Have you seen '50 Sheds Of Grey' on Twitter, very funny at times.
There's also and Irish version...... very funny aswell
21. There have been many variations on the 50 shades of grey trend on Twitter. I have started a musicians version. Those familiar with the 50 shades virality will know the sort of writing. Basically, making something sound filthy, but actually talking about music eg: she responded to the slightest touch, I lightly fingered her, making her voice quiver. The chorus was too high... 22. Hey all you Twitter folk, I have started a 50 shades of grey rival, for us musicians on Twitter! Let's get to it #50notesofgrey
23. Oh yes!! Oh yes indeed!! Deef likey! Also, watched the video.......... *drools*
