1. Right here goes, its time for some naked pics!! finally got all the paint off, whoever made the body then used that amount of primer must have been some kind of sadist! Ive just had a read through your thread xgsjx and i really like the look of your Ibanez so ive decided to go with that kind of finish and as a complete novice in wood finishing its going to probably be hit and miss but i like the idea of not having to spray anything so what the hell im going to give it a go. Mind you id better get some beeswax sharpish before MDP snaffles it all up! 2. sorry to hear that but i had the same experience in 1990 and im still bitter about it cos it was the singer that wanted rid of me and it was the singer that the record companies didnt like! lets face it Stu Hamm isnt slim line and it hasnt done him any harm, you werent in a boy band were you?

7. the good news is that what looks like a repair in the wood just above the scratchplate on this pic is infact bugger all? so clear is still on the cards

9. im thinking of a colour now as ive just discovered what i think is a repair done to the wood on the front of the body just above where the scratchplate sits but as yet havent sanded it right back yet as it started raining and sanding it outside is my only option. Im fancying surf green or similar or something completely opposite like the orange they paint rs focus`s in hmmm decisions decisions

14. the back has now been sanded right back and apart from a couple of scratches that need sanding out its nearly finished, im now off to lie down in a darkened room cause im knackered!
15. does this count as a build? my last creation, cheap thunderbird copy body, cheap jazz neck and emg pickups sounds and plays wonderful!
16. ive had a bit more sand today, not much as i spent the day with my son but managed to sand out a couple of dings also managed to shape the scratchplate to the control plate with just a stanley knife! i think its definitely going to be just clear coat when its finished, but here is a pic or 2 as to where im at plus the bits ive got, im waiting on a reply of a bc member about a jazz neck which will fit just nicely! hopefully tomorrow it wont be raining so i can get outside with my sander and get rid of the rest of the primer
17. forgot to mention the body was £20 plus pap it would be nice to keep it under £150 just to see what i can kit it out with!
18. If youve ever fancied trying fretless but have been put off by the the cost of the extra guitar think again!! for £70 you can try it, ok maybe you wont but im stuck with trying to sell stuff thanks to my sons good results in his gcse`s ive just been lumbered with a £350 bill for bus fares for next year, so my fretless is for sale, itsa bitsa but plays very nicely. and for £70 and whoever buys it will not regret it.
