  5. I fear the wink emoji may have been too small to register that my comment was made in jest
  6. This lot might be them: https://thebandpunch.com/ 😉 If so it looks like they've had a few lineup changes and none of the original members are left — as discussed in the Bands of Theseus aka Trigger's band thread

  14. I was umming and ahhing about getting this one as I only have the sunburst and white versions, so it would be logical to complete the set, although the missus would disagree. They are fantastic basses - certainly my favourite long scales. The pickups are magnificent. I tried all kinds of flatwounds on mine until I found EB cobalt flats (the lightest set with blue graphics) which keep the growl in the tone very nicely.
  15. Across 110th Street - Bobby Womack
  16. Is this the first verse of Bob Dylan's latest song? If so I'd love to see the rest of the verses.
  17. If you were to list it on ebay as an extreme limited edition from a boutique builder, you wouldn't be the first to do this.
  18. The best example I can think of is probably The Drifters who have been going since 1953 where the name was owned by the manager George Treadwell, then his widow Faye Treadwell, and since she passed away, their daughter Tina Treadwell. The list of members and lineups on their wikipedia page is massive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Drifters
  19. Interesting article in the grauniad about bands that carry on with no original members. Dr Feelgood weren't mentioned though which seems to be a bit of an an oversight. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/aug/04/meet-the-bands-with-no-original-members-left-yes-soft-machine-odyssey-molly-hatchet
  20. If I didn't already own at least three practice amps and a Waza Air Bass I'd be all over this - it is cute as a button. GLWTS!
  21. Interesting pricing on that dean. I'm pretty sure the new price was less than half that when I tried one.
  22. I've only used (medium scale ECB81M) chromes on mustangs and the tension although higher than Thomastik TIJF324s it isn't excessive.
  23. I bought a red one of these a few weeks ago when I saw it hanging up in the secondhand section of Guitarguitar in Epsom. I've put an old set of short scale status hotwire flatwounds on it, a Fender hi mass bridge from my spare bits box, and a red pearloid pickguard from Brian Pillans. It looks incredibly cute & cool especially with the ridiculously chunky bridge. After setting it up it plays really nicely. I rather fancy putting in an EMG Geezer pickup but I don't know if it would be worth doing as I'm unlikely to record or gig with it in preference to my JMJ mustangs. I told the missus it'd come in handy for getting the grandkids into bass, but the eldest in only three so it'll still be a while before she grows into it.
  24. Pat's Delight - Led Zeppelin
  25. Cheer Up Charlie - Primus
