5. You'll find loads of tabs on www.bassmasta.net A lot of these with have a few wrong notations in but youlll soon figure it out. Some good suggestions on this thread. might also be a good idea to get a tutor who will give you a grounding in tecnique and the ability to read music. Hope it all goes well. Cheers Matt

9. I found it! Im not sure if this what you actually want, but have a look and if there is something there for you, then so be it! Other wise, listen to all your fave songs! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=31035 You might have to cut and past that, or youll find it on page 10 i think of the general bass discussion thread. there are a few of them on here. Cheers Matt
10. Hi Eight, and welcome. I started a thread about this a while ago, Ill see if I can find the link for you. Matt
11. Hang on Sean, that might not help the situation. if the thread gets to you, perhaps not reading may help calm things down,or choosing not to get involved may be the answer. You cannot blame one single person for others who have chosen to leave. Cheers Matt
12. Yikes. Easy everyone, i can read music in all FOUR clefs, but i still need help sometimes. We can all work out the basics of the music if we stick to R5R5 and watch the changes. I think that someimes we all want to see if those fun fills and classic bits are written down . When you start playing you always want to reproduce a song as it is played by the original bass player until we are good/competent enough to play our own. AM reads music well enough, but it was a request for help, not a request for critique. We all take time to get used to this forum. I did, as im sure you all did. my 2p worth. Matt
13. has anyone actually played this yet? Matt
14.
You could always try playing bass like Joegarcia who posts here on basschat. there is a post explaining why he plays like that but i cant find it at the moment.
Blimey, how does that work??? Matt
15. Thats not a bad idea, we could get a few serious looking BCers to go along and make sure everything is done ok! If we can fix other problems on this site then we can sort this. I dare any one to get in the way of basschat! M
16. Hi. Thanks for the replies. indeed, a gig it is not, but just a small amout of bass here seems to reverberate around the four flats in this house. Its an old house not a purpose built block, so the place can shake a bit! Mostly i play through headphones, which isnt perfect, but there are very few times when I can use my amp, even quietly without someone complaining. Hi Jay, and thanks for the PM. The problem is that i cannot do Saturday. We did in fact talk about this earlier in the year. But thanks for the response. Perhaps you could ask id anyone might be able to help me out. I just thought it was odd that if anyone advertises as a teacher, then you would have somewhere to teach in. I think that it is the norm for the student to go to the teacher not the other way around. Perhaps I am being old fashioned about this. THanks for all your input. Cheers Matt
17. Hi Paul. Thanks for the info. cheers Matt
18. I have been trying to find a Bass tutor in Bristol. Most seem to want to come to my house to teach, but I have noise issues here. Im sure they must have noise problems with teaching at home as well. I was under the impression that if someone were to teach, then the ywould have some kind of space to teach in. I spoke to one person who said that he wasnt insured to teach at home. FFs Im not 8! Am I being unrealistic here? Matt
19. Mines a quality '59, but to be honest no mattter what I do, the noise that comes out of it sometimes is just not good. I have no idea what im doing wrong.
20. Hi having auditioned for music college and got a place, albeit years ago. Perhaps something along the lines of one piece to show technical, and one to show control. How many pieces are they asking for? Cheers Matt
21.
Great gig on Saturday night to a rammed-out and very enthusiastic Fiddlers club in Bristol. Debuted a couple of tunes and a new intro, all went down very well. Crowd were absolutely brilliant, up and dancing from the off, and they never stopped. Just for a laff, we did it in fancy dress... 3 fairies, 2 pirates, a French peasant, a convict, a Mexican wrestler, a clown, a naval officer, James Bond, Al Capone, and Darth Vader Thanks to Matt for coming along! glad you enjoyed it, see you again soon
Am bringing a small crowd next time. Awesome gig Rich.
