1. Absolutely beautiful!
2. Hey - here are some pics: The case is like this: I have just realised that I think I need to get the electronics serviced - as a I recall a year ago the active passive switch was only working in passive - an easy fix, I'm sure, but I always loved the sound of it passive (though the 3 band EQ is great) so never got it fixed! What sort of cash adjustment do you think you'd like? If I were selling I'd be looking for £400 or so (with the electronics fixed, of course!).
3. How about a beautiful vintage 1984 Ibanez Musician with original hard case? Colour is pearl, ebony board...etc
4. Thanks for this, ticket bought!
5. He was pretty much living on the streets at the time, he was essentially cleaned up for it. They were confident he was about to usher in a new era for himself but he was too self-destructive due to his mental illnesses. I think the DVD still captures his magic and attitude but not really at his best. Too many licks, maybe! An important watch though, I think.
6.
Nice to see this going', guys! Eh?
I'm guessing the exercises and pieces played on the Jaco educational DVD, which does already come with a booklet with it all transcribed ( in notation, thankfully )
7. I'm transcribing Mike Brecker & Pat Metheny's solos from Metheny's Song for Bilboa on Brecker's Time is of the Essence album, both brilliant!
8. In general, un magasin fantastique! My wife had some slight customer service issues recently when picking a bass up for me from the workshop but that is not typical of dealing with the Gallery.
9. I have two EUBs I'm looking to trade. A cheaper Dean Pace 4 with carrying case or a Bassix "Jazza" handbuilt EUB.
10. What sort of trades would you be interested in?
11. Not sad in the slightest. No-one should be snobbish about music. Play what you love and love what you play!
12. Thanks buddy!
13. Official Link I am so tempted by this, even though at best they're £1500. Could be a collector's item in future though. Anybody else thinking of taking the plunge?
14. Is that right? Never noticed! Well, I suppose it could be worse for people to confuse two fine establishments - at least there's no risk of wandering into the Bass Cellar!
15.
the change in name kind of makes sense, i mean, if you hadn't heard of it before, would you have really guessed "the gallery" is a bass shop? using the words bass merchant does seem a bit weird, but i guess thats just one of those things. they could have even done it to help against competition i guess, if you google the words "bass merchant" the gallery is now third.
I always thought it was (and thought of it as) "the Bass Gallery".
16. Well, I'm not confused, but I can see how confusion might arise - is it recently that the Gallery has been re-branded "The Gallery: Bass Merchant" ? Link. Might cause some confusion with the excellent Bass Merchant in Colchester. I use both stores and they are both excellent. Is this a new thing at the Gallery?
17. It's not the biggest issue but to my eyes using someone else's pictures without making it clear is a little deceptive.
18. I actually have considered that. I've taken it off, cleaned it, dried it, oiled it, everything. So frustrating! I don't want to have to buy special oil for one tiny saddle - do you think that's the only solution? Very annoying!
19. Hi all I have movable string saddles on my KS Burner -very handy, but the G string is all the way over so that the string is sitting very near the edge of the neck. I'd like to move it back but I cannot get it to spin round so it moves closer to the other strings. I have tried to get extra purchase by using various cloths to try and spin it with no luck. A bit of WD40 hasn't helped either. Any thoughts? Regards Mike
20. I've had problems with trevthebass before and warn anyone against doing any sort of business with him.
21.
Rule 3 - ignore them, for them it's all part of being American and twelve. Jon.
It's not just the Americans...
22. Great basses, this is a particularly beautiful one!
23. Wow, can't believe this is up already! She needs a good home, good luck whoever buys it.
