    I've recently bought a book by a guy called John Eliot called "Insights in Jazz" ([url="http://dropback.co.uk/"]website[/url]) which covers this exact topic. It's extremely thorough (I'm still new to it) but it discusses breaking songs down into "bricks" and learning them that way, with "joins" - meaning you learn the tune simply, inside out and can play it in any key! (Darned vocalists, am I right?) I highly recommend it - I'm only just starting out but he's mapped out something like 200 jazz standards showing how simple it is to learn!

Beautiful bass for the money, sounds fantastic. Only selling because my fretless is now a Gary Willis 5.     Hi guys, need a quick sale on this. People who can pick up preferred - can ship as a last option! An almost mint condition of this bass - and genuinely one of the best I've owned. The reason I am selling is that I play my Sadowsky almost fulltime now and need the money for a Sadowsky 5 - plus precisions don't really figure in my plans. In my opinion, adding a jazz pup to this bass would make it the ultimate passive bass! Here are pics: Price is [b]now £520[/b] firm and I am in Chelmsford, Essex (CM2) close to the A12 which is near to M25. I don't mind driving a little way to meet somebody - any further and a few pounds towards petrol would be appreciated.     I generally like it. I really only get it for Janek's improvising concepts article which in my opinion is worth the cost of the magazine.
