1.
Nicest Ibanez I've ever seen... Also, what's that bass in your signature photo??
I don't know if you missed the post of my 8 string... and I noticed, we apparently like multistrings and we have the same amp, different cabs (I have two markbass 804 with "ferrite" magnets), but same SD1200 (incredible head in my opinion!). The Ibby is still here protected in its case.
2. This is a bass designed by me and build by a sicilian luthier Francesco Distefano, figured poplar body, spalted maple top, 5 section neck in padouk, ebony and flamed maple, ebony board with 28 "frets", gotoh tuner, ABM with piezo bridge, custom Magnetics pickup and electronic(Amazing!), and the graph tech ghost system... It's MY BASS for life!
3.
That's such a beauty!! GLWTS
Yes it is! It needs a new home and has to be played!
4. Hi all, I've for sale this incredible bass, bought new and unplayed. It has the Hipshot A style bridge and you can set it from something like 18 mm to 17 mm spacing but my other basses are 16 mm. For this reason it's absolutely immaculate with is original case, Ibanez multi-key, a key for the bridge and manual. The quality of the instrument is outstanding, I had a SR1206 before and I can assure this is on another level. Woods are impressive, the quilted top it's a beauty and it's more than 1,5 cm, ash on the back, maple-purpleheart slim neck, purpleheart fingerboard, Gotoh tuners, Hipshot bridge, Bartolini USA pickups and preamp with 3 positions switch for middles... plays superb. I invite you to listen to Bruno Tauzin videos on the tube to have an idea. I'm located in Italy and I've the original packaging actually, I can ship without problems in EU at cost. It costs much more than what I'm asking and I think it's quite rare too, so if you have a little gas don't lost this one and PM me with a sensible offer. If you offer the money I'm asking I'll include a Gruv Gear Solostrap, the 4" one, this is like new too, it's a little longer than what I'm used to. The only basses I'm after for trades are Ken Smith Burner 5 or 6 string (becouse I always wanted one and they have 16mm spacing... ).
5. How do you find the TTE 800 vs the Tube 800 in sound and power? Expecially with the 804, I own the same cab, so...
6. I had a ny122, that is the best cab Markbass make IMO. It's really balanced, it's a really small 2x12" but it's a full sounding cab and I don't mean full like their 4x10 that tend to be really muddy, it has good bass, superb mids and it has a much better tweeter than the 4x10. Doesn't have strange voicing in the upper mids like the 102p. I would define it like full, clean, defined and warm at the same time. Volume wise, I used it with a GR700+, an italian made head with the usual 700 watts power module (a very clean and transparent amp) and with a SD1200, really good results with either heads, I think it's difficult to have volume problems with this cab, expecially if you drive it with the right watts. I now use a 2x12 from GRBass but the 122 was really impressive considering its performance and footprint.
7. I never liked the Markbass 10" speakers... Always boom, mids and no highs. Totally different story with the NY122 or the 804 (discontinued), these are much more flat sounding and with the right head sounded amazing. I had a Tube 800 and liked it but I had it with other cabs... I used 2x804 or the NY122 alone with the SD1200, superb combinations. If I had to choose today I'll buy a Tube 800 or SD1200 with the NY122 or 122 Ninja, the cab it's really light, portable, powerfull and balanced in sound. I used the 122 with other heads too and it represented them perfectly.
8.
I've got one of the Thomann bags from that other thread http://www.thomann.d...g_e_bass_br.htm I have to say for 25 odd quid it is brilliant, well padded, a variety of straps to carry it with, and feels really good quality! Go for it!!
I have that one too, for the price it's really really impressive!
9. I tried them, I usually use D'Addario EXL, I can compare to them... I ordered round core and nickel plated, less tension than D'Addario, a little softer feeling and a little less aggressive on the upper mids, so I think they are similar in tone and feel to Sunbeams but they have a better price, you can order custom sets... good in life too. I never tried hex core ones but at the end I like how D'Addario EXL sounds and feels on my basses.
10. I think I use EXL from 2003, I've tried many other brands, I liked some, hated some... the ones I liked were just different, not better but costed twice as much. I tried Chromes too, super powerfull strings, I turned back to EXL only for the feeling and tension on my fretless, it's an 8 string so 8 string + flats was like asking a little much to my hands! Anyway, if I have to recommend EXL against other nickel plated strings it's becouse they have something in the mids/high mids that other strings don't have. Another thing to consider, from 2003 I encountered only a bad E string, so, + or - 10 sets a year, that is a bad string over 130 sets of strings, Amazing! D'Addario, I beg you to not change the EXL formula, please.
11. I've to not recommend these strings. I'm from Italy, I contacted them for a 5 string set and some "particular" strings for my 8 string... The 5 string set was just a so so set, good for the first gig, then they were just dead, keep in mind that I usually use standard D'Addarrio exl nickel strings and there's no comparison here... For the 8 string, I ordered a plain 0.012 and a wound 0.020 for the high F... the plain one was really disappointing, seemed a used string, the wound 0.020 was a simple guitar string with a guitar ball end, not long enough to reach the tuning key. Obviously I wrote them an accurate mail with all the details of the bass, the scale lenght... and that single high F was 6 €. So, you can understand why I can't recommend. If you want to try other "exotic" strings you can't find in stores, I can recommend Newtone strings, I asked them a complete set for my 8 string, nickel plated, round core, those were really good.
12. Have a free bump, that thing is Amazing in every aspect, good warm flat tone, superb EQ and filters and of course has the power to drive any possible cab, still at 8 ohm it works really good, one of the best heads I owned for sure.
13. I was searching a neo one, so I'm considering alternatives at this time, I'm in Italy anyway.
14. I bought a Darkglass B3K from him, fast transaction, superb price and the pedal it's like new. Thank you very much!
15. So, no trade for a Markbass SD1200 in perfect conditions and working order with bag? I'm in Italy
16. I've sent a private message to you... let me know
