1. Thanks Rolf... Glad you like it
hi torben, it's me your friend from switzerland - have a great day and happy packing rolf
2.
Oh my wow.i must stop looking on here.bloody gas
Already tried that... Doesn't help at all...
 3. Thanks Graham... I perfectly agree. Seems however, that the Brubakers are a rare breed (in Europe at least), why I do not know - But I suspect that they are not cheap instruments, and that could be the reason. Anyways, it is attracting quite some attention on another forum, and as it is with brands and things - What is well known and popular in one country, is lesser known and less popular elsewhere . //Torben
 4.
Nice bass
You have no idea - Bargain price IMHO (but again, I would say that... Wouldn't I ?!) On a serious note though: This is a virtually unused High End bass. Looks are of course subjective, but it sounds and plays fantastic. Just can't justify this for 3 rehearsals pr. month, and maybe 2 jobs a year...
 5. Price drop to 1250 (for a while) . Close ups upon request to anyone interested.
 6.
Hi , Mr Brubaker is still very active and still building. The Brubaker Brute you are talking about are done in China under his control and supervision.
I stand corrected (sorry Mr. Brubaker... Truly !). Have to admit I don't know a whole lot about him or his work - The Lexa is a serious piece of kit though, and read about Mr. Brusker somewhere that he was compared på Mr. Smith (amongst others). Guess I assumed that all the basses on his page was produced in China.
 7. Doing the Brubaker-bump . I believe these things were regarded extremely high quality in their days, before Mr. sold the brand to Asian mass producers and retired... In the same league as Ken Smith etc..
 8.
Very handsome
Thanks, it is indeed !. The attention to detail this luthier had is simply amazing...
 9.
Whats the structure Torben? I see flamed maple, (ash/alder body maybe), is that purple-heart and walnut mid-sandwich?
Sounds likely... Neck and top are definitely maple, fretboard is padauk. I think alder is not a bad guess, judging by the weight (and my limited experiance).
 10. Bought this fantastic bass a while ago, but in all honesty the condition and looks of it is just so nice, that I don't dare using it. Therefore I have primarily used my fretless for the past months, and became even more attached to the sound and feel of it... So, I am moving this. The condition is mint, I cannot find any dings or scratches. Frets are as new and everything works as new. Bartolini pups/pre etc. All case candy is there... A cliché maybe... I read a lot about the versatility in sound of particular basses. Personally, this one is the only one I ever owned where I would claim extreme versatility a real strong point. The combination of pickup placement and preamp is just spot on. Also the deep neck pocket gives the sustain of a neck-through without sacrificing attack. A matter of taste I know, but this is one of very few basses I would actually trust having flats or half rounds on and still sound great. Scale 34" String spacing 19/17/14/9 mm at Bridge, 24'th, 12'th and nut. 13. Anyone got any info about the 2000'ish Brubaker bass guitars ? Particularly Bartolini equipped Lexa models ?. Regards. Torben
 14. No prob... Is this the same as was on sale here not too long ago ?
 15. Definitely watching this !... Would be an excellent partner to my Human Base fretless (although mine is the cheaper US-made model). Gorgeous thing, GLWTS ! //Torben
 16. Dusting off the old thread... - Uhm yeah, sorry for being indecisive about this. The temptation to replace the Dolphin (luckily) went away. Kind of forgot about the thread by then, as it was getting a bit old and dusty down the piles of other nice instruments on the list. Still tempted from time to time, I could possibly try to resurrect the thread if temptation gets the best of me again ?! Regards, happy new year, and apologies !. Torben
 17. Not hte best pic, but it is what I have until I get to the rehearsal room again...
