1.
Nice, thanks for putting the effort in to find out... I'll see if it's possibly cheaper to re-fret here in the UK. bump until then!
Most likely less hassle... I would, however, also consider it a fairly difficult task. The ebony on the fretboard is of real high quality it seems (it's pretty damn tough !, the sustain in this thing proves this as well).
 2.
Would you be able to find out if the possibility of fretting it exists?
Here is Chris Stambaughs reply, upon my request (answered same day as I sent the mail... Nice after sale service !):
Hi Torben, It would be rather difficult, so the price may be unattractive. I would estimate that for the time involved it would run about $350. You may be able to find a local repair luthier that could do it more efficiently. thanks, Chris
3. That is one nice looking piece of hardware... Interested in something like this : http://basschat.co.uk/topic/171617-feeler-fender-p-bass-american-deluxe-us/
 4.
So whatcha looking for trade wise? 4/5 P, J, PJ, M, MM??
I'd like to know as well
 5. Sold (Don't know how to fiddle with the headlines...)
 6.
Would you be able to find out if the possibility of fretting it exists?
Sure I could... but there are numerous possibilities for this, I would assume. Either it could be done here in DK (probably expensive as hell !), in UK, or at Chris shop in Chicago.
 7.
Wow, nice woods!
Thx... Pics does not really do it justice. It is truly beautiful .
 8. Wow, don't know really... I am almost certain that Chris Stambaugh will remember this particular bass (it is not often people spend on a 'Pope' preamp section, I reckon). I would consider asking Chris personally ?. There are Mahogany fretlines inlayed in the neck - These would have to be replaced...
 9. Selling the lot, to start over on my bass collection... Change is needed !. Peavey Cirrus 5, perfect working condition, but a bit cosmetic wear. Most noticeable on the headstock, that has a small crack in the laquer (as shown in the pictures). The headstock aside, condition is really ok... Only minor wear from 'the road'. Looking for £660... Trade for good 4/5 String 34" scale length will be considered +/- money either way Located in Copenhagen Denmark, will ship with absolute care !
 10. Custom made Stambaugh fretless Six. Double cut with Mike Pope preamp system, and 4 band eq. (was about $400-$500 alone back then... It is the 'old' non-modular model) Afzelia top, ebony middle layer (thin black stripe) and Mahogany back. Ebony 'fretboard' with discrete mahogany stripe inlays. Pickups have same 'sandwich' of afzelia/ebony/mahogany, and mother of pearl inlays marking placement of the magnets. Maple/purpleheart neck. Great condition, fretboard has very, very minor marks from strings - nothing that will show up on pictures... Tonewise I have never heard anything like it... Not on recordings, live nowhere... Even with dull strings, it sounds fantastic !. I would not call it 'that Jaco sound' - This is much more punchy, with a tad more warmth to it. You can ofcourse roll off the bass, and pan to the bridge pickup if you want, but you will find that the sound is just as 'snappy' at full blast... But with alot more going on in the bottom end. Very versatile, pickups can be switched active/passive individually etc.. Neck is ultra thin/fast, so even at the wide string spacing (19 mm.), the bass is a blast to play. Action is stupidly low, put new (black) Pyramid strings on it a while ago, and adjusted the action way down, and no buzzing or crackling. Pictures of 'new' action height upon request... There is quite a bit of dust on it when photographed... Apologies, but it does not get used much... If you are into fretless sixers, this is pretty much as good as it gets... Both tone and feel is absolutely top shelf !. With the Pope preamp section and Aero Pickups I suspect it to sound close to a Fodera, but at <1/3 the price... Trade for... Well don't know really. Maybe a four string fretless for playing occasionally.... An Elrick (fretless ?) would be top nice... Maybe a Warwick ?. Needs to be wide string spacing !. Located in Copenhagen Denmark, will ship with absolute care ! - Comes with Tribal Planet top shelf Gigbag, or Flightcase...
