No, they are the 'right' way - the B and G machine heads are reversed, so the B turns in the same direction to tighten the string as the E and the A, and the G in the same direction as the D. And vice versa to loosen. Also the pull is slightly straighter.

Fair enough, it's been a while since I had mine. Every days and education 😀 - GLWTS!

The price of Yamaha basses are hilarious.

How they can sell for as little as they do is beyond belief.

£550 for a bass as good as this??

    Ridiculous!!

I have a 4 string version of one of these. Truly fantastic basses, I'd love a 5. Truly crazy price for a bass of this quality.

I’m happy to accept higher offers! 😂

  3. *SOLD* EDIT - I should add that I have the original pick-ups and loom, scratchplate and pickup cover that will be included in the sale:

So the clear-out continues, Classic story - I need to raise some money, I have basses I don’t really want to part with to sell to raise funds for the next bass. I’m listing a load of basses so as soon as I’ve hit my target I’ll withdraw the rest. Please feel free to hit me up with near offers - I’m willing to listen.

Ok, so this started out life as a stock Silver Series (MIJ) 93/94 and I added a Seymour Duncan Quarter-pounder pickup, CTS pots, Orange drop cap, cloth wiring, Genuine Squier tort scratch plate, the pickup and bridge covers and a set of Labella 760M flat wounds which are beautifully worn in. So it owes me at around £250 in extras. This was my attempt at a Jameson ‘Funk machine’ and it works great. It has unfortunately sat in the cupboard for a while now and needs a new owner who will play it. It has a fair amount of play wear and the back of the neck is wearing nicely down the business end - see pictures. I’ll even include my bit of foam I shoved into the bridge to improve the thump. I should add that I have all the original parts that I will include in the sale.

I would very much prefer collection in person here in north London (N21) as I can demo the bass with an amp and make sure that the potential buyer is happy. However I do have a couple of shipping boxes that I would be willing to post basses in at the buyers risk. Or I may be able to meet within a reasonable distance and I’m always in central London for gigs.

1995 MIM - This one is a real wrench as I love the neck, literally the best bass neck Fender has ever made in my opinion. I was so enamoured with this bass when I got it that I decided to tart it up a bit so I added a full set of black Hipshot HB-7’s and a BT7 D’tuner and a black Gotoh 201 bridge which improved things no end. This has a slightly smaller body that your standard P and has active electronics. Great weight, sound and playability. Overall in very nice nick, but there is some flaking of the paint around the cavity at the back - see pictures.  This was there when I bought it and hasn't gotten any worse since.

EDIT - I have the original tuners that I will include in the sales too - standard Fender 90's MIM chrome.

Classic short scale that sounds like a weird Jazz bass and weighs literal nothing. I can find only one tiny dink on the edge of the body otherwise it’s immaculate. Hardly played, still has the shop sticker on the back plate. Unleash your inner Carol Kaye! Fun little bass - needs a new home please.

Got this in a trade on here a few years ago and loved it, however the fact is that I just don’t use it enough to justify keeping it. This thing produces an enormous tone for a passive instrument this amazingly well built and feels great to play. This one is in very good condition no obvious chips or dings. It does have little wear to the bottom stringer at the back of the neck, but this doesn’t affect playability. It comes with its original soft case. My one downside with this is that it is a little on the heavy side, but not as heavy as a 1025X! - I’ll weigh it and add to the post shortly. EDIT just weighed it on the bathroom scales - 4.5 Kg, pretty typical for these.

Great Jazz this, actually my favourite sounding apart from my custom shop! It’s basically a Classic Vibe Jazz (one of the nice early ones too) that was offered as the guy from Biffy Clyro’s signature instrument. I did briefly install a Kigon series/parallel loom in this, but put it back to stock as it is now. Very good overall condition with some play wear as expected for its age. Small chip on the headstock - See pics. All the look and feel of a 60’s Jazz without the need to remortgage the house. Now discontinued so grab it while its on offer. No case I'm afraid with this either.

  8. Boss GT-10B - £185 - *now £175  now £165 Now £150!?

Offers before I put it on eBay!

The last great Boss multi FX dedicated to Bass. Dual signal paths and some very hi-fidelity effects (even by todays standards) make this a great multi. The number of effects and phenomenal  programmability will satisfy even the most hardy of knob twiddlers. Combine this the the amazing (and free!) FX Floorboard software and it’ll pretty much cover anything! Good condition, some signs of use. Original PSU and the original (albeit very tatty) box - No manual though, but this can be downloaded here:

Price includes UK mainland postage - First class, signed for. Happy to knock off a good few quid for collection from north London - N21

Any questions or further pictures please PM me, happy also to demo here - free tea and a biscuit included!

  9. Following a realisation that I'm sitting on a lot of stuff I just don't use anymore - the clearout has begun. Expect to see more stuff in the other areas of the market place soon. First up some pedals:

    *SOLD - Mooer Ensemble Queen - £35

The bass version of the ‘Ensemble King’ - apparently based on the Boss CE-2? VG condition. Boxed with instructions. Velcro on base, but original the rubber ‘foot’ has been removed and is included.

    *SOLD - MXR Bass Dynacomp - £80

The bass version of the classic MXR Dynacomp. As you’d expect - coloured squish in a tiny package. Good condition with some signs of use. Velcro on base, no box

    * Withdrawn - MXR Thump Bass preamp - £75

Based on the EP Preamp with added tone controls. Designed as an always on tones shaper or coloured boost. VG/almost new condition. Velcro on base, original box with candy inc. MXR sticker included.

    *SOLD - Zoom B3 - £80

Classic multi effects from Zoom, great sounds, very easy to program and also editable with the software. Fantastic 1 box swiss army knife for any gig. Can be run off batteries too. It also has some very useable amp sims. This also has the essential integrated XLR/ DI out (which seems to missing from many more contemporary multis). This one has seen some action and has the scars to prove it, but everything works as it should. I have all the original packaging which I will also include (Box, manual etc.) Velcro on bottom and 3 of the 4 original feet!

    *SOLD - Zoom MS-60B - £55

The now legendary single pedal multi FX from Zoom. Almost worth putting on the board as a catch all fx pedal or just to cover that ‘one weird bit you have to do it that one song for a bit’. 50 presets, 142 effects 6 amp models  - blah blah blah. Very good condition a couple of small chips on the corners. Boxed with the original manual etc.

    *SOLD - AMT Slap Bass - £75

Now here’s an odd one - a Siberian made bass overdrive intended for Slap! - I know!

Heres the blurb - “The Slap Bass Compressor Pedal is a specialized effect designed for bassists who use funk and slap techniques. It instantly provides the compression, depth, and snappy attack this playing style requires. It can be used by non-slap players for distortion with its adjustable drive level. It's also an amazing tool for guitar players, allowing them to plug directly into their recorder and lay down a quick bass track. Built-in cabinet emulation circuitry ensures that it sounds equally good whether run through an amp or used for direct recording.”

Now long discontinued and I suspect not that well sought after. Might be worth a punt? Maybe Chris Wolstenholme or Flea will start using one and it’ll rocket up in value? Probably not! Good condition with the original box.

Please PM for more pictures or details. All prices include UK mainland postage first class, signed for. equally happy to knock off a couple of quid for collection from North London - N21

ahh that is a good point im more of an analogue man myself, so we can set up camp in the stupid wasting money area together ahha

The MXR poly has a mode switch. One side is analogue style (not sure if it’s actual analogue - but convincing enough and I’m a proper octave snob) and the poly side is digital. That’s part of the reason it’s so cool. Chuck in the fuzz circuit, all the different blendable ocatves (up and down) and some modulation and you can hit Royal Blood, Pino octaves, POG organ sounds, synth, sub octave and everything in between all in one MXR sized pedal!
