    Speed!

Tie your mother down is fairly easy to speed up with a few minor tweeks. For the open A to C run, just flick/hammer on the C and that will cover both notes. For the chorus just run the line as in the first chorus - ie dont attempt to make it swing. It works equally well both ways. That should take out the delicate pauses etc. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi all, Seeing all the love for the J&D jazz basses, has anyone any experience or opinion on the 63 precisions they do? Im thinking of getting one and modding it. https://www.musicstore.de/en_GB/GBP/Jack-Danny-PB-Vintage-1963-BK-Black/art-BAS0007156-000

    Speed!

I trick i eas told years ago was turn everything up so you only have to tickle the strings rather than dig in and have perfect technique etc. That will speed you up a bit and stop you cramping up etc. Someone told me thats what Steve Harris of Iron Maiden did.
  4. Whats the black one at the back with no logo? Looks great.
  5. Im selling x5 lanta fireball par 64 par cans. Superb lights for djs, bands and uplighting. Very lightweight but very powerful. Has a whole host of features including: 1. Sound to light. 2. Dmx. 3. Static colours. 4. Colour mixing. 5. Fade. 6. Strobe. 7. Whole host of pre programmed scenes. 8. Double yoke brackets for ease of use. 9. Iec ins and outs. Very easy to use. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. I am selling these as some of the blue leds have either gone or are on their way out or flashing. I know some people replace these for a few pence and in effect have brand new lights for next to no money. The red and green are in great working order. Please ask to see the photos for the rgb and leds working and i will post on here. These therefore are sold as seen but will be fully demo'd so you are happy. These retail at around £70 each so grab a bargain. Pick up from Leyland in Lancashire.
  6. Ive a spectracomp and no noise issues at all.
  7. Bass is a funny instrument that some people just dont get. Its about feel and groove. If your drummer goes too fast you cant fit the feel of the groove in, although you may be able to fit the notes in. This is not the same thing. Im sure some people who dont play bass think the same thing played faster will still have the same result. That is definitely not the case.
  8. Its a fair point to say you cant really criticize until you know the acts in question etc. But its just a natural progression. The problem i had with djing was the absolute lack of longevity in songs and artists. Literally everything from last year wont be tolerated this year and everything this year will be shunned next year. There are some great tracks out there every year, but that longevity aspect is gone now. Might be interesting to see brit winners from the last 5-10 years and see who fulfilled potential and who dosappeared etc.
  9. The Brits, like the Oscars, should both be about celebrating their respective art forms. Unfortunately all they have become os one person telling another person that another person is better than them. Without any reasoning. Why anyone would bother with this kind of awards is beyond me. Now, that Abe Simpson shouting at a cloud cartoon would be perfect about now!
  10. Thats the exact look i went for last week. But with a red thin tie and black leather jacket. ....and a lot less skill.
  11. Why was the crowd full of bloomin footballers and tv celebs? Complete garbage. Youd have thought it could have been full of musicians for a start! Holly & Phil - cant stand them. What on earth have they got to do with anything to do wih the Brits??! ...... and who in the wide wide world of music should we get to present an award?.... hmmmm i know .... lets get Harry Kane!! and the Brit School pit next to the stage every year says it all.
  12. The Brits is always a fine example of why i gave up djing.
  13. Yeh, loving the music. What a player John is. We are kind of doing the Kind of Magic tour look - hence the black fender p.
  14. That looks cool, but id like to see in the flesh first before buying anything.
  15. Ive got one on order! Couldnt find one identical but took a pic of hilda and having it printed!
  16. No such luck! My hair went years ago!
  17. Haha! My legs are even worse than his! Wouldnt wish that on the crowd
  18. Cheers. One thing i remember about my precision is it had a gloss sticky neck, whereas my bb is silky smooth which makes it easier to play. I'll keep my eye out for some mx precisions.
  19. Hi all, Im now in a Queen tribute band and as we are getting better and more well known im now starting to look at Johns basses for more authenticity. I currently use yamaha bbs as i love them to bits. I can get any sound i like, theyre easy to play and sound great. Ive previously had a usa precision years ago and the yamaha bbs neck width, neck material and finish and size suit me much better. With there being a million fender precision models out there, are the any black fender p basses that are similar to the yamzha bb's? (or is that a daft question). Also, it must have fender on the headstock, not a squier decal as the more clued up in the crowd etc will whinge and judge and defeats the purpose of trying to be a bit more authentic.
