Congratulations! Do you guys ever get confused for the other band, of Stick Stickly fame?
Haha yeah sometimes... it's kinda a pain in the arse but mostly people are now getting their heads around their are two completely different bands with a similar name! We've had some funny moments of their fans coming to our shows buying our merch and then realising it's the wrong band etc

* NOW £85 DELIVERED!!!!*
For sale is my MXR 10-Band Eq in mint condition. It's still got the box and all the manuals and comes with a power supply. Great pedal, the faders have LEDs on them which light up when powered, really useful when on dark stages. It has very light use, used only a couple of times in a rehearsal room then used once on a gig. Selling as I've found I prefer the EQ of my sansamp and I need to have a clear out of gear! £90 delivered

yeah that is a really good point. This was the first thing that came to mind. Its not a horrific buzz, its just quite annoying, especially for recording.
I have the same bass. I copper shielded the control cavity which helped.. there are some threads about it over on talkbass. I've also found that it cane be made worse by certain lights in the house etc and obviously when you aren't running both volume on full. I never hear any noise at venues unless there is some sh*tty power supply going on.

Awesome distortion pedal... I just don't use it enough to warrant it cluttering up my bands studio and I'm preferring my valve drive for my distortion.... and the luxury of keeping things you don't really need has gone! lol. Pedal is in good condition and working order, no box or manual tho 'i'm afraid, but it can be downloaded. Will get pics when I go down to the studio next. Looking for £100 ono posted - I've seen them for £150 on thomann also have an MXR 10 BAND EQ in mint condition - only used a few times - would be good to get£100 ono posted for that.

I wouldn't go do a tour without a basic fee for each show - support fees are usually 100 euros upwards from my experience. This way you'll have a starting budget to work with as you will be able to calculate how much money your band is definitelty going to generate. You'll be able then to look at hotel/petrol costs etc Next thing you'll need to do if you want to at least break even is do the hard sell with your merch. Don't just rely on a merch guy to sell during the gig, get outside the venue after the gig with your cds and t-shirts and sell. I know from experience that this definitely helps, it also helps your band being remembered and gives you a connection with your fans. Who is your booking agent.. they should be negotiating a fee with the promoters of the shows. If your agent is not securing fees and taking a cut of money then you really need to take a serious look at your agent. My overall advice would be don't do it. If there are no guaranteed fees then you might end up in a situation that will financialy cripple your band. The prospect of touring around europe is awesome, but when you don't have any money coming in, playing poorly attended shows and you're hungry it isn't good. You should think how better the money could be spent, than touring europe and only playing to 100 -150 people a night. Perhaps touring your home country first would be a better idea, maybe supporting a bigger act to play to more people, this might require a buy-on. But my advice would be to establish yourself in one country first before going anywhere else.

Reason for not doing the UK tour... I don't know really, most likely because we're wrting and recording and we don't want to afttect the headline tour too much either. We've toured with Zebrahead before so we already know them pretty well, they're cool guys.
Your tour looks sweet! How come you aren't doing the UK leg of the Zebrahead tour? We're hoping to get the Glasgow date again. Played with Zebrahead at the Glasgow Cathouse last year. You're in for a treat if you haven't seen them or if you're not a fan, their awesome live show has converted many! chris
-

I don't think the bass has any shielding at all! Sometimes it hums sometimes it doesn't - quite strange. Going get some of that copper tape stuff and have a go at sheilding as best as possible. I've actually lowered the pickup on both sides about a quarter turn on each screw and it seems a lot better now. From what I can hear the closer the pickup to the strings the more mid it seems to have. I'm going into a ad200b orange head which breaks up really easily but if the pickups are too hot, somtimes it can push the valves too much in the amp, that's what I have found anyway. It now really grinds now tho. I'm sure some more messing with the pickup height will take place over the next month. How have you got your bass so silent? Bridge-wise I think i'm going to put a fender deluxe bridge on it, i usually love hipshots and especially badass bridges but i'd like to keep as much of the vintage looks as possible, and also the sustain on this thing is insane already, as is the high end - badass bridges i find usually help with makeing a bass brighter IMO. I'd love to put the covers on, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to play it comfortable with them on so I don't know - prob cost about £30 to get them. I need to get some straplocks too. ATM the bass looks very new, but i'm sure a month long tour in april will put an end to that and add to the vintage vibe
too bad son is a right tune!
Thanks.. that was actually one of the songs that came from one of my pro tools demos! who said bass players can't write? haha -
A CIJ 51 Re-issue Precision Bass, and I can't tell you how happy I am with this bass!! The finish, fit and hardware are awesome. Obviosuly the bridge and pickup are basic but they are supposed to be (altho I will be chanign the bridge to get better intonation) ! Frets are finished perfectly, and the neck feels really comfortable in my hands. The body is one piece ash finished in sunburst and the neck is one piece maple with a tint to it. The tone and sustain of this thing is amazing, for such a basic in design instrument the strings ring and sustain with that 'piano string' tone. Through my Orange bass rig the tone is wide open with a lot of depth and very grindy, perfect for rock (think entwistle), if you turn the tone down you get that old skool motown vibe from it. The bass is currently strung with nickel roundwounds so hopefully when i get my ernie ball steels on they'll up the sharpness of the tone again! I don't find the lack of contours on the body uncomfortable at all, infact I quite like the change and makes it look quite chunky in a cool way! I think the pickup is pretty good really, quite full sounding, the hum is a bit annoying tho so may look into shielding of the bass and if that fails maybe get a split coil pickup. One thing that bothers me, not much but the E string doesn't ring out as well as the other, but I think this me be down to the string guage being a step down to what i'm used to and so i'm playing it too hard! Over all i'm really happy with this bass!
I think they were all Korean (and 30.75 inch scale from what I've seen, so closer to short than medium). I've seen a few go for 300 - 400, and most seem to be fairly near mint condition. If you've got the spare cash you sometimes see them converted to Darkstars, which makes them very good indeed.
i sold mine a while ago for 250
