2. Hey, I've got a skyline bob glaub bass, but looking for a new scratchplate for it, was wondering if any of you guys know of anywhere in the UK that makes custom scratchplates or even lakland plates?!! cheers
3. I recently became an EBS pedal endorsing artist and so now I have the issue of the EBS pedals no longer fitting on my current board... so I'm looking fora decent pedalboard/ pedalboard case... does anyone know of any good companies or can recommend what is good and what should be avoided. I need to something professional standard as I tour a lot, usually on buss's with trailers so need something that can withstand the carnage that takes place on the road!
4. I hope that people actaully learn my real parts on bass - that would be totally awesome I think! Guitar Hero I've found is really good for really hearing the basslines that are usually hard to pick out on records - for example early metallica.. only problem is you have to be able to play them on the game really weel to hear them properly!!
5.
You're on tour with AC/DC? Well done!
haha no - that's the answer who were the last 'uknown' band to be put on the game last year.... hoepfully we'll get something cool like an ac/dc tour lol
6. Hey, Not quite a gig but wasn't sure where else to post this! I'd just like to mention that my band will haveone of our songs featured on the next guitar hero game. We're a UK band called Attack! Attack! (not the US one) I've been sitting on the news for a while now, trying not to tell anyone but I simply can't wait to see how Activision have interpreted my bassline on the Game, and how easy or hard it will be to play, if i'll even manage to play it - not the greatest GH player! If you want to check out the band it's www.myspace.com/attackattackband here's an article about it if you're interested http://www.mcvuk.com/press-releases/...-AT-MIDEM-2009
7. Orange amps rock!!! All tho i'm biased in saying that as I endorse them, but seriously cool tube tone that's a little bit different to the Ampeg tube sound. Sounds absolutely fat with a fender precision. My rig - Orange AD200B 4X10 and 1x15 with a Lakland bob glaub or Fender jazz re-issue with quarter pounders Going to pick up a tiny terro bass for a backup when they go into production.
8.
Thanks. Bringing our own backline is not going to happen this time round, as we need to travel by plane in order to meet other commitments (we're based in Ireland). I think I might start another thread regarding backline rental outfits in London... Nathan
Get in touch with the other bands playing the gigs and see what you can arrange to share backline.
9. Played the Windmill years ago in my old band as a secret show. It's basically a pub from what I remember with a pretty small stage. I thnk from what I remember the sound was ok - nothing spectacular but it was good. It was about the time bloc party jsut broke out and I can remember they had done a similar thing. In terms of backline - i'd bring your own, I haven't been to a venue ever where they have supplied backline that was of any quality. Crowd/Industry - It's unlikely that there will be any industry people there unless you have either invited them or they go to that bar or pub on the offchance. Same goes for crowd, especially london... people don't tend to go to gig when they don't know the band, unless they're there for a drink/night out or are there to see the support acts - best way to get a crowd is to message your fans on myspace from london and get them down there. Also playin twice in London back to back can affect turn outs sometimes. Hope you have a good gig and the turn out is good.
10.
Hi everyone, Whilst in my local PMT I noticed a number of Blackstar Amps valve distortion pedals. I came home and had a read. UK based, valve distortion pedals. Sounded familiar, as I've been GASing for a DHA Dual Custom for about 2 years (no impulse buys here!!!). Anyone know the major differences, or why the Blackstar equivalent of the VT2 Dual Custom is a lot cheaper? Many thanks, Dan
yo! I own the blackstar distortion pedal. The distortion is almost a fuzz when you crank the gain to max... it can get very fizzy... also it loses a lot of bottom end from you tone. I use mine in conjunction wit ha parablender fx blender to blend my clean signal to the distortion to add bottom end. It's a cool pedal.. the distortion could be a bit thicker on it. I would look for a bass specific pedal or a dist with a blend on it. For what I use it for live it's cool as I want some nasty distortion fuzz blended in with my clean to try and recreate a two amp scinario... (the classic a guitar amp blend with a bass amp sound) Try out the MXR blowtorch or El grande or the Boss Bass Overdrive.. I also own a tc electronic bass distortion which is awesome but they stopped making them.
11. thanks dude.
12. What I would like to see - altho it's probably not totally viable due to weight and space - but a dual channel bass head with an ad200b but with the added preamp from the thunderverb 200 or from the tiny terror guitar head.. it'll never happen but i think it would sound like a monster.
13. A good month of touring around Europe and the UK with my band Attack! Attack!. Check out some of the dates if you can. 14. I'm likely going to pick one of these up when they go into production, i hoping it might serve as a backup head to my orange ad200b. If not it'll be a cool little amp to have around.
15.
Mansons in Exeter can get them but that doesn't help much if you ewant to try - how about asking the distributor - in Oxford I think.
i've been offered an endorsement from them..pretty sure they are based in cambridge. want to make sure it's the glaub i want and not the jo. ill double check where they'er based. thanks anyway
16. Hey I'm looking for a skyline bob glaub to try out but im finding it hard to find one in a shop without travelling hundreds of miles!!! Does anyone know where they might have one in the South Wales or South west area?!! any help greatly appreicated! Cheers
17.
Ive just A/B'd several pedals at my local shop. Ashdown Lomenzo - too brittle for my ear, not impressed. Various Boss/ Ibanez jobbies. Ok, but too much dist on the lower frequencies. I want them let alone. However, I tried a Blackstar HT Dist valve pedal. Blimey, what a lovely product. Warmed up the bottom end and gave a nice controlled overdrive to the highs. Anyone alse tried these? I know they are guitar effects but they sound great.
Yeah I recently bought a Blackstar HT Drive pedal - Really cool distortion.. can get a little fizzy if you max the tone and gain control but back them off and it sounds ace... I blend this pedal with my dry bass tone using a goldworks fx parablender. Sounds awesome!
18.
Have you considered the Moosapotamus' Paralooper? Thread here about it, with comments from the designer & builder himself, with a lot of good feedback. Harmony Paralooper thread One of the many things on my Christmas to-build list
I wish I had more time to get some cool boutigue thing... my mate works in a music store in london and has come up with the good for me... a solidgoldfx parablender.. should do the job! thanks for your help!
19. lol i think you just replied to my talk bass post! Does the ls-2 not effect your tone at all? I just have had bad experiences with boss... you rate the boss over the barge concepts?
I've got the LS-2, Custom Barge and Xotic all on my board at moment and I rank them like this Xotic LS-2 Barge They all do a similar job and have their own pros and cons, well the Xotic's only con is cost other than that it's flawless. LS-2 isn't noisy unless you crank the volumes and then you'd be boosting your signal and you don't really want to be doing that. The LS-2 is always worth having around it's so useful and does so much stuff. I've not tried the Radial but it's top notch stuff and while I'm not the biggest fan off boss there isn't really anything more roadworthy
20. Hi, Basically which pedal would you recommend for blending a distortion pedal into my clean bass sound? Obviously the boss is cheaper.. but it's a boss and I'm worried about the clarity of my tone with it. In an ideal world I would get a barge concepts pedal from the states but time is a major factor in this.... Is there any real difference between the boss and a behringer?!!
21. If you're interested check them out... 22. I've recently got an endorsment with Orange which has meant ditching my rack gear as the orange head alone weighs an absolute ton by itself!! SANSAMP RPM This is about 3 months old in mint condition and in perfect working order. I'm actually gutted that I have to sell this but needs must. This is the same sansamp that geddy lee uses and for good reason. It sounds amazing.. from cool svt tones to full on grindy distortion. It has a parametric EQ which is very handy and two xlr outs - one sansamp and one unaffected, which were handy in studio situations. These cost about £350 new.. so considering it's condition etc I'm looking for £290 for it. Korg DTR 2000 Rack Tuner Top of the range Kord Tuner. This is the industry standard rack tuner. Tunes very accurately even down to a low B. Has a lot of different modes of tunings and features. Has a rack light built in to light up gear below it. The tuner is in good condition and fully working order.. I does have some rack rash on the top and bottom from being put into racks but ocne put into a rack you dont see this. Cost about £180 new - looking for £90 ABS 6U FLIGHTCASE Good condition.. hold up to 6U. Had for about a year and has served my gear well! £20
23. getting repeated messaged asking me to call someone about an item i have sold through the forum. Totally un-related to the person i actually sold the item too and the number in not one i would recognize. is anyone else getting these messages. i received two tonight. i've blocked the guy.
24. Just seeing if there is any interest on here for this rack awesome preamp/DI. I've had it for about 4 months and it's been safely racked in a flightcase... only selling now due to no longer needing a rack case or rack gear. This unit is so versatile, it has a number ways to hook it up to your current rig and also has two DIs out.. an unaffected and a sansamp which is really cool for recording especially. The rpm does svt clean to full on thick cutting distortion. This is the same sansamp that Geddy Lee uses! It's in 'as new' condition, with box, power chord and manual. Costs about £330 new so looking for about £290 due to its mint condition. I am open to offers tho . Cheers
25. 6U FLIGHTCASE FOR SALE. Cost £60 new.. had use of it for just over a year. Selling it now due to the fact I don't need it anymore as my new head is an orange ad200b. In good condition. It has been holding an svt 3 pro, a sansampo rpm and korg tuner for the past year. Yours for £25
