  1. I been trying to find a traditional Jazz Bass (4-string) or perhaps a P-Bass that has ZERO neck-dive. You woud have thought it easy, but I'm extra sensitive or in-tollerant to neck-dive because I have played a headless bass for the last 25 years. I recently went to a large retailer in the south and tried a lot of basses ranging from expensive American made Fenders to Sires to Squires. My conclusion was that they ALL seemed to suffer the issue to some extent with the best being a £299 Squire Jazz (Contemporary Model) This particular Squire model was the heaviest bass there, so I beleive its "cheaper" heavy body was able to counter balance the headstock better. Why did I not buy it? It was severly damaged. So before I finally pull the pin on the Squire, or similar cheap & heavy bass, has anyone else been here?
  2. What a lovely looking shape, I hope your not located near me.
  3. Sold last night. I very nice chap bought it last evening and then rushed off to London and done a gig with it same night. I am so glad it's being used.
  4. Will someone take this thing off my hands please. After elbow surgery on both arms, I have now just had hand surgery so having this around is just a reminder that I can't play it anymore. Again, sorry but I cannot post this.
  5. Not sure why this is not gone yet, maybe the price? or people have to travel too far? May try the Sei bass instead. Anyhow "for now" I have reduced the price of this superb 5-String to £520
  6. I do have a chap in the process of purchasing now so its "almost" or "nearly" sold, this will be confirmed end of this week.
  7. Due to illness a few years back and not being able to play now makes it time for me to make some space. This was purchased and never used in earnest, OK I have played it a litte bit whilst testing and mucking about with it at home when I got it. I have had a quick look over it and looks pretty much like new and it still makes all the right noises, both in active mode and passive It has been stored in its case, upright, not near a radiator and kept in spare bedroom in my non-smoking home. It has NEVER done a gig, a jam session or even a band practice. I did not like the original knobs so I replaced them with some matching black chrome with Mother of Pearl tops that match the neck dots, these are the ones on it now. It also has matching straplocks too. Build quality wise this thing is a real top-notch "through neck" construction, my "other" bass is a Sei-Bass so I know what I am talking about. It is a mainly Maple construction with Spalted Maple facings, has Bartolini pickups and the active eletronics are also Bartolini, even the tuners are decent Hipshot ones. The bridge is very adjustable inc. string spacing, but you do need to realise the spacing is only 16mm "before adjusting" so do consider this, as its about the narrowest you can get. It has a metal nut too, its an amazing specification, I also beleive it has new set of 45 -125 R.Cocco strings on it. Like the other gear I have been sellling, please do not ask me if I will take a silly price, I will not take one. The price is already good when you consider this bass is pretty much in a new condition. I am NOT going to be posting it under any circustances, if you want it you WILL have to collect from Swindon or I do visit Reading a lot, so I can take it there. Last but not least, "what does it sound like" it sounds very nice, deep & powerfull to me.
  8. Yep, same story as the Phil Jones rig I have up for sale, bought this but NEVER used it. This pedal has "honestly" never been used, I tested of course but it's never been near a foot. It appears to be the same as the one FEA are currently selling with the 7:1 ratio, they sell for $345 plus shipping, plus import duty etc. I can't find the box, but I don't think it was anything special but I will find something safe to put it in. I did find the instructions. Unlike the Rig, I will post this, so hows about £200 inc postage, for what is essentially a new and best compressor pedal ever made.
  9. Phil Jones Bass BG-300 Super Flightcase and a PB-300 Powered Cabinet, both in matching red. The huge packing boxes are included, the covers, the manuals and the leads. This need to be moved on now, I had to give up Bass playing a while back but just before this happened I purchased this rig, it has been tried out in the home of course and then stored "in the house" never to be used again. PS I have tested it again this week, all still working OK and 100% mint & unmarked. It is literally "new", its not been out the house, not even been out of the spare room where its been stored, obvously I am selling as used as I'm not a shop & it's out of warrentee etc., I'm just a guy whose arms dont work well enough to play bass now and one that takes great care of my "things" I will have some other things to get moved-on also, but this takes up room I now need. I remembered this site from when I was playing so decided to put up for sale here It will have have to be collected from me in Swindon, I cannot post or assist in the matter. I can get it to Reading if that helps? This lot when purchased was about £2000 "from memory", so I will ask £1000 and that will be final, I wont take no silly low offer as I firmly believe it's a serious steal for a rig of this quality. I took a load of pictures, I hope they show what it is OK?
  10. So I thought I'd pop back on here and sell on my gear, I've not used it for 5 years and can't play now. I'm a bit confused with the market place section though. Its £7 to sell an single item and for multiple items it states £20 + £18. Why two amounts? Regards DT
  11. I seen this a few months back and being an engineer it impressed me, it's very clever and I'd be interested in trying one to feel how that neck feels. It might be amazingly comfortable, of course it could be just as easily be cr*p. But as mentioned above, the body shape does look like a can opener and I think the guys that make it should have "re-think" about the body shape, it sure is ugly.
  12. Ashwood not got in touch, but thats fine. Just drop me a PM, then we can sort the details out
