1. There yer go! It's a bit closer to home, but the price is an absolute joke! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Thunderbird-IV-Bass-Ebony-/230995245135?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35c863b84f
2. IMO it all went downhill after Signals, and with the exception of Presto they've never recovered!
3.
Epiphone should make a black classic pro I really, really, really want a black Thunderbird.
They probably will when they've sold their target figures for the VS and AW.
4. I wouldn't worry mate, it'd only end up sitting in the corner, as It won't play as nice as your Classic Pro! I sold a 1998 Korean made bolt-on last year which played excellently, but having recently acquired a Classic Pro meself, I would not buy another bolt-on. The Classic Pro is indeed in another world.
5. This has got to be it! http://youtu.be/HzpCcNdhy5w
6. Only when used by a lefty Eg. Jimi Goodwin of Doves.
7.
Is it an older version of one of these ? http://www.andertons...ge-sunburst.asp
No, manufacture and sale of these only started last year. If I had a spare £250 I'd have it meself. Just amazed at how many people are so confused when the description is in the title of the thread!
8. As the title says it's the Classic Pro IV produced in 2012 Not the active Pro which has been around since 2008 or so. If I hadn't have bought mine last month this one would be well on it's way to Somerset by now!
9.
Not bad. Only £50 more than they cost new ...
Well your attempt at being sarcastic fell right on it's arse there matey. They're just shy of £350 everywhere without the hard case, which itself can cost anywhere between £70 to £120.
10. There you go, excellent basses as a few on BC will testify! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-thunderbird-iv-pro-vintage-sunburst-b334108-bhh-/161132448717?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item25843e0bcd
11.
I'm convinced that one was a 2cv4 though, so he can knock him for that.
The only difference between the 2cv4 and 2cv6 is the engine size, So whichever one he's putting them into, it's basically the same piece of sh*t, so you can't knock him for that! Anyway Carry on
12.
I once played in a band where the guitarist used two full flightcased Fender Twin reverb amps that never once travelled further than about 40 miles in a Citroen 2Cv.
You can't knock him for that! If ever a flight case was justified for short journeys, putting them in a 2cv6's is it! I remember seeing one get rear ended by a milk float when I was doing me paper round in the '70's, the Fibre glass constructed milk float came off a hell of a lot better, the Citroen's arse end just folded in like it was made of kitchen foil.
13. Could you be thinking of this? http://youtu.be/rtZAzh0TSAo
14. Cheers for the replies everyone! I guess I'll just hope for the best and expect the worst from the robbing twunts!
15. I've just ordered a Hipshot Supertone from the US via ebay Does anyone know if I'm likely to get stung by Customs once it arrives here, and if so wot's the cost likely to be?
16.
Taking Bill Nelson as an example; Here's one of the most prolific and influential British guitarists of the last 40 years and there is a school of thought amongst his diehard fanbase that he hasn't been invited on to Later because he gave an (allegedly) less than flattering review of a Jools Holland album a few years ago. Could be a conspiracy theory, could be true. I don't know but there does seem to be a weighting towards Jools' pals on the programme.
Excellent point! Seems that the BBC do like holding their grudges. and I'm guessing the reason The Damned have never been invited has something to do with the Sensible/Ward/Scabies Parkinson's Party Punch bowl event that alledgedly occured during their 1979 visit to the OGWT studio's.
17. If it were one of my basses that little bastard would not be returning home with his ponytail intact that's for sure.
18.
Mmm...I thought this was a special edition in the 'standard' range, so in between the Affinity & VM ?
It is from the Standard range
I have come across a special edition Squier Precision Chrome and Black Edition for sale: I have a Squier one already but I am seriously considering swapping it for this as I love the colour matched headstock, jazz neck and option of jazz pickup. Are they any good? Will it be much of a difference/step up from my Squier Affinity Precision? Anyone got one or played one can give some thoughts and comparisons of where in the squier line up it sits. If not I will wait and get a VM jazz or summat.
IMO they're far better than the affinity's and not that far (if at all) behind the VM's. I've owned both the Special and the VM in the past, there's nowt wrong with the special if you wanting that P/J sound, sadly that pup combination didn't work for me and I used mine with the J pup constantly off. Decent basses all the same.
19. I bought an Epiphone Classic Thunderbird IV last Wednesday, it's brilliant and as for the infamous neck dive problem, it's a thing of the past!
