  1. Just ordered the Babicz three point replacement for my Thunderbird. My question is. Does it need the shim plate or not? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  2. Yeah I have a Classic Pro which I've been modding with Chrome Hipshot parts, (Bridge and Machine Heads) I put it on hold when these new ones finally started appearing, but now I'll just carry on where I left off with my CP.
  3. Well I for one will not be paying £600.
  4. Both Andertons & Gear4Music have recently upped the price of these new Thunderbirds by £100.
  5. I want a Black one but the car is slowly going tits up and getting in the way of any purchases in the near future Will the deteriorating situation at Gibson affect the availability in the future, or is Epiphone a stand alone company again these days?
  6. Clean, as in it's straight up sound, no effects.
  7. Any of you new vintage pro owners fancy uploading a nice clean sound clip or two?
  8. Great player, but here he just proves that his surname is very apt!
  9. It'll have been new that year. Gibson never produced the Thunderbird again after 79 until 87.
  10. Hope you did and hope you liked them? Bass player on The Black album (Paul Gray) is also on the Eddie & The Hot Rods album
  11. UFO - Strangers In The Night. Eddie & The Hot Rods - Life On The Line. The Damned - The Black Album.
  12. Thank you, I thought that was what they were.
  13. I'll be having a Black one when they finally land, though t he sunburst looks better in your photo than it does in the official pics. What make are the Machine heads?
  14. Nice one mate, what great memory for you, bet his sound was a raw as hell then.
  15. Yeah, and sadly it appears to have sold, someone has been robbed!
  16. Yeah that doesn't surprise me, he and Mogg's working relationship was coming to it's end. Infact he'd left just before the U.S leg of the Lights Out tour the year before because of Mogg and he only returned because Pete Way had managed to locate him and talk him into it.
  17. It certainly is! UFO.....Nice! I saw them on the Lights Out (June '77 Newcastle Mayfair), Obsession (June '78 Newcastle Mayfair), Strangers In The Night (Dec '79 Middlesbrough Town Hall), The Wild, The Willing & The Innocent (Jan '81 Middlesbrough Town Hall), Walk On Water (Feb '98 Newcastle City Hall) and the Conspiracy of Stars (May 2015 Exeter Phoenix) tours!
  18. Look at that headstock! Squier infinity series at best. Messaged him and reported to ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-jazz-bass-guitar/332491485097?hash=item4d6a096fa9:g:xGUAAOSwyGZaN7gn
  19. Bowie - The Spiders from Mars era. Uriah Heep - Gary Thain & Trevor Bolder era's. Hawkwind - Lemmy era. Eddie and the Hot Rods - Life On The Line / Thriller. Gillan - Mr Universe / Glory Road. The Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette / The Black Album / Strawberries. The Jam - All albums. Toyah - Sheep Farming in Barnet. The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus / No More Heroes / Black & White / The Raven. Rush - All The World's A Stage / Hemisphere's / Permanent Waves / Moving Pictures / Signals. Japan - Adolescent Sex / Quiet Life. Talk Talk - The Party's Over / It's My Life / The Colour of Spring. Kings of Leon - All albums yeah some song are stinky poo, but the lad brings the four string to the fore in a way I like.
  20. This! Especially after starting work 6 months prior to it's release!
  21. If the one you got from Gear4Music had the strap button on the top wing it was the first version of Epiphone Thunderbird with the bolt on neck. The one in the link above has a through neck and Gibson pickups and is light years ahead of the old bolt on version, it's also the newest model available in the UK at the moment, though it is soon to be replaced by the Vintage Pro, when they finally decide to get their fingers out..
  22. Shame this wasn't available back in August, I'd have had it. Since then I've gone with a Hipshot Supertone.
  23. UFO. I would like to have had the ride Pete Way had alongside Michael Schenker (minus the Heroin habit of course). I asked him what happened to his Natural Grain 1976 Bicentennial Thunderbird (of which only 224 were made) which was last seen around 1980. "I don't know" was his answer, so sad.
  24. Well judging by his notes at the bottom of his ad someone has has had to point it out to him (apparently rudely) just what it is he's selling.
