3. I think there's a clue in his description I've bought two excellently priced brand new Mighty Mite necks off of him in the past (both outside of eBay), he's a good bloke and his listings are always honest. I think there's a fair few more on BC who can vouch for him too.
 4.
Yep. Very good too. Had the guitarist who was in the Saints for a bit too if I remember correctly.
Aye that's right! Bruce Calloway and Mark Wilkinson. They had good solid bass players in Jim Dickson & Christian Houllemare too!
 5.
Still sounds fresh, fast and nasty.
Quality all the way Always thought Rob Younger sounds like a young Dave Vanian. Have you heard The New Christs?
 6. Well I got no reply from the bastard when I quizzed him about it, and no action was taken by Greed bay when I reported it last week! now some poor f****r has just unwittingly shelled out £275 for a piece of tool shed abused Chinese made sh*te.
 7. Had a few surreal times listening to these lads & lass back in the day. http://youtu.be/iiy5K81qvbg
 8. I agree! These tool shed sander jobbies are abominations. Though Fender did make a good job of the Rory Gallagher tribute Strat.
 9.
How very dare you! :-) Thought you might spot my comment was somewhat tongue in cheek. CB
I did mate, but I thought I'd just play you along a little hence the
 10.
We're actually talking about tight radii on the headstocks of copy basses! Stop the world - I want to get off! CB
It's not just the tight radius, it's the whole headstock shape! A dead give away that indicates that this is not the genuine article, CB you seem to be having some difficulty coping with the fact that some of us care? Tell you wot mate, I'd rather bring attention to it than possibly read a thread in a week or So, with a title along the lines of " Guys I Think I've Been Ripped Off" Just a thought, you're not the bloke selling it are yer?
 11. In the end it really doesn't matter wot Fender did and didn't do regarding skunk stripes, as it has no real bearing on the fact that the bass in my OP is well dodgy, and even if it did have a skunk stripe the fact remains that the headstock is NOT the right shape to be a 90's MIJ Squier, end of.
 12.
Ref stripe - I've no knowledge of what goes on with various copies. But back in the days of just Fender P's and J's, all the ones with rosewood boards were stripeless. CB
The bloke 2nd from bottom on here http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?p=59965 seems to know the in's and out's on Fender's use of the skunk stripe.
 13.
You never know, the poor guy was probably told this bogus info when he bought the bass himself and took it for gospel being none the wiser. Happens all the time.
True it does, and this could sadly be a case of that! But I sent him a message stating my concerns but up to now have got no reply.
 14.
Have you reported it?
Aye
 15. Every P bass I've owned (apart from my old Hondo II and my sadly long gone JV) have had a skunk stripe, whether they had a Maple or Rosewood board. I've had a few cheap Affinity's that have not had the stripe. This is the last of such, no back shot but you can see the Headstock is the same shape as the one in my OP.
 16. Lack of skunk stripe and headstock shape. Only the JV's, some of the Affinity's and more recently the CV's don't have them. Also The headstock shape is more in keeping with an Affinity. See link below for a proper '90's MIJ Squier. 17. MIJ early 90's Squier my arse. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200814601881&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123
 18. That's a lovely bass mate! Not wanting to piss on your pyro's here, but that 'Badass' bridge is a Schaller 3D.
 19. This!
 20.
I know I've posted this before, just did a Google Image search for 1978 Fender P's and there it was...along with several potentially embarrasing pics of myself..
There you go, that's sorted it!
