1. The squiers actually have an ok sound if you intend to just twiddle/bash about on it. I've never tried an affinity model but I don't think they compare to the standards, affinitys are usually sold with starter packs & standards for seperate sale. With that said, there is always room for improvement. Put some Seymour Duncan SPB3 quarter pounders in there, they sound pretty good (IMO) My friend placed them in his Pewter Squier Precision & they were a huge step! or EMG select (if you don't wanna spend all that much) congrats on what you bought, £70 a cracking price.

3. That would look awesome on a 3 Tone sunburst or Tobacco-burst..IMO ofc Shame I don't have a precision..or a Fender bass for that matter , I cud have whipped this.. Good luck with the sale, have a BUMP... its on the house
4. The Silver serial number on the back of the neck looks like a quick job, the decal seems prominant so it hasn't been properly lacquered over....that well The screw in the middle is an odd thing  I have a gut feelin' thats bogus but I could be wrong, its hard to tell with Fenders since anyone cud take a cheap bass, add a fender decal, imitate a serial number and sell it off.
5. Looks mexican...I may be wrong.

11.
Give the Status Hotwires a go..... not bad strings and have a decent price too
Cool, I'll have to find out about them. do they have a "crunch" to them? or add that effect to the sound? (I think I might be moving on to pickups there ) it's just the Elites I have on atm give a sort of dullish tone..it's hard to explain.
12. The Few Years of playing bass I've used Elites, Rotosound, Warwick (Red label) & D'addario (Pro Steels)..they're ok, but I feel there might be (better) ones out there.. any suggestion to some good ones? nickel or steel, I'll take the gamble I need a change!! Thanks.
13. Trev (thebass) do you just buy and sell basses? it looks like the only posts you do tbh..
14. Trev if you're having trouble trying to shift it, advertise it elsewhere like the Gumtree, or your local classifieds..usually helps

16.
Gareth was going to buy the bass. The price, the method of payment and time of collection were ALL arranged, but trevthebass changed the price yet again!
lol at £400 it seemed a great deal, even I was tempted. But I don't think I want to anymore..I'm afraid if I offer the price might change..

20. I use D'Addario XL ProSteels 35 to 95's, they are pretty nice. I've depended on D'addario & Rotosound, plus (on the off chance) some Elites.. Sure they're little strings (gauge wise) But I love the sound! plus it helps for jazz scales  I've never tried their nickels, though I'll give them a chance someday Pedro
21. I love Warwick Streamer's, best basses man... Wasn't there a Topic on here about the LX models...apparently they have the worst resale values? I might be wrong!
22.
I do like that guitar. Shame i haven't really got the room for any more. Well, at least until i sell my Jag!
lol I can wait *twiddles thumbs*
