I met Vlad Naslas in the 90s and played through one of, if not the, first Meatballs. Nice chap. Nice pedal.

Anyone just given up on dynamic filters and just gone for a foot operated wah? Probably the wrong place to ask. Do I just need convincing/ more money/a slap?
  3. @Risk101 thanks. Not a finish I would normally go for but it’s growing on me quickly. There are a lot of sounds in there, and I like the look of the single pickup, and I’m keeping the blend right down the middle. Playing-wise it’s a dream and I couldn’t leave the shop without it. It was one of those occasions when you just find the right one.
  4. 1997 Pro-M with an East preamp. Purchased this Saturday just gone. Colour is Almond Sunburst. After over a decade I finally return to owning a Warwick and bloody hell I’ve missed them.
  5. Sister Sledge - Thinking of You. Nard!
  6. Fender Mustang. All kinds of ugly wrongness.
  7. I’m more black body and maple neck. Brownmark, Prince & the Revolution.
  8. If any of you want to bully me into buying a maple necked early 70s jazz bass, fill your boots!
  9. You need to play that bass, man. Do it, we only pass this way once!
  10. Perhaps then the title of this thread should be; “Is there a popular bass player, that you DO get, as far as their popularity is concerned, but cannot for the life of you understand why because as far you’re concerned they make a horrid noise?”
  11. Binding intact. Fret ends smooth as a baby’s whassername.
  12. As requested but I actually took the D and the G half a turn up at the bridge after a few days of playing. This thing sings!
  13. Well I had to get my money’s worth!
  14. This part of the neck was particularly battered beforehand and I now just marvel at how it looks, and feels.
  15. Good question. Don’t know! It was the size bigger than the one Jon initially suggested and they’re stainless steel.
  16. I had the same fears but they all disappeared as soon as I plugged it in and played it. Think of it like this; everything else has aged wonderfully and now it’s ready to be played like the day it was made.
  17. Over a month ago now, with a little trepidation, I left my 74 Jazz with Jon Shuker for a refret and new nut. Also had a little of the slickness taken off the back of the neck. Had it back a couple of weeks and could not be happier. Plays like a dream. If you’re considering doing this I’d say get it done, you’ll wish, just like I have, that you’d have done it sooner.
  18. My Warwick Thumb bolt-on 2001 Ltd Edition swapped on here with @Rich_uk77 for a 2004 Stingray, which was lovely, but I never got on with it and sold it soon after. I’d love to have that Thumb back. What was I thinking?!
  19. John Entwhistle - over amplified clatter.
  20. Bought a Boss LMB-3 Limiter Enhancer from Rob. Pedal arrived really quickly in excellent condition and was well packaged. Do not hesitate to interact with Rob who is a top bloke and a credit to Basschat. Highly recommended.
