1. Still not been arsed ebaying this BUMP
2. I exchanged quite a few e-mails with Alex when I was considering a Big Baby too. I just loved the look of them and the idea of having a complete one cab solution (I was playing mostly pub gigs at the time though). In the end, after discussing the kind of tone I was after and the kind of players whose tone I liked Alex pointed me in the direction of the S12T. It's brilliant. I've had it a couple of years now and I have suffered no cab GAS since. It might not necessarily be a better option for you but it would definitely be worth kicking the ball around with Alex before you get so besotted with the BB that you're unwilling to consider other options. Either way, I suspect you'll be a happy man.
3. I keep threatening to ebay this but I've not got round to it yet because I've been too busy watching The Olympics-type bump...
4. These were Bass of the Year in one of the bass magazines just a few years back! I'm probably shooting myself int he foot here as I've presently got my own Zoot up for sale but this has got to be a steal at this price.
5.
Where abouts are you? The bass looks cool always liked the shape.
Sorry, BR, didn't see your reply until this morning. I'm in sunny Chester. Probably a couple of hours up the M40/M6 from your neck of the woods. You're very welcome to pop up and put it through its paces if you like. Tea and biscuits gratis!
6. Still can't believe this hasn't gone yet. If I had the money I'd have it off you in a flash. And I do't even play 5 strings and I don't really like maple fingerboards!
7. Pre-weekend bump ahead of me ebaying this thing of beauty...
8. Folks, as my ACG has now arrived and my lovely Zoot is now officially surplus, I'm happy to consider offers in the £800 ballpark. You know you don't want to make me to have to ebay this now...
9.
I know that I shouldn't have had another look......Aaaah..GAS!!!
Go on, Mick, make me an offer - I can only say 'no'. And who knows, with my ACG arriving in the next day or so I might even say 'yes'!
10. Really, no one wants these for a project? It's not hardship to keep hold of them but I'm genuinely surprised no one's come in for them. Oh well, one last bump before I withdraw them...
11. Oooh, I'm off to Latitude. I shall have to seek you/it out!
12. BUMP for price drop. Can't go any lower than this, folks - they'd be worth more to me melted down for scrap!
13.
This is probably one of the only Zoot basses I have actually liked the look of!
You too, Sir, are a man of impeccable taste.
14.
Having just had the 'Zoot shaped hole in my life' filled when I bought Marks other Zoot, I can wholeheartedly recommend one of these basses to anyone! Whoever's fortunate enough to buy this bass certainly won't regret it!. Oh; and Mark's a top bloke too.
Thanks, Gary. Glad to hear to you are enjoying the fretless too - I knew you wouldn't be disappointed!
15. This is a bass that's looking for love, who just needs the right soul mate to share their life with. So what are you waiting for, gentlemen, ladies? Come on, somewhere out there's got a Zoot-shaped hole that needs filling, I know it. The first step is admitting it to yourself. Then the healing can commence!...type BUMP
16. Oooh, I like, now if I just manage to sell my Zoot...
17.
Well I am sad to say I have neither the cash or aught to trade for this right now as I find it captivating!
As ever, Chris - a man of impeccable taste and critical facility!
18.
The only thing I am noticing is that there is a lot of unwound string at the bridge end, which brand are they?
La Bella Super Steps, Chris. Piano string design a la Rotosound Contact Cores - obviously (!). Never really noticed that there was that much core over the bridge before. You don't notice it playing at all either, and I tend to pluck pretty near the bridge too. Nice strings actually. Tried them on a whim and I've stuck with them on a couple of basses for about a year now. To interested punters, I have got a recent set of Roto swing bass RS 66LB I can swap them out for if desired - 35-90.
19.
Absolutely awesome. You'll love the ACG, but I doubt you'll ever forget this beauty. As a former Zoot and ACG owner, I approve!
Ha ha - thanks, Chris, and nice to hear from you. Yes, I thought longs and hard before offering this. I think I feel more attached to it after doing all the mods on it. But, sadly, I just don't think it's going to get any playing time once the ACG arrives, especially with me being band-less at the moment. Still, if it does go it's my loss and someone else's gain; if it doesn't, well, it won't break my heart to take it out every once in a while and put it through its paces.
