  1. Sold this chap a book. Paid promptly, good comes - perfect!
  2. Blurb below, but this is a classic debut album, remastered on double vinyl and with lots of bonus content. RRP £28.99, yours for £18 posted UK. Still sealed, factory fresh! Now £16. Now £12 Twice Removed From Yesterday is Robin Trower's first solo album after leaving Procol Harum in 1971 and hooking up with Frankie Miller in the band Jude. Featuring ex-Stone The Crows bassist/ vocalist James Dewar and Reg Isidore on drums, it was originally released in March 1973 and heralded the beginning of this legendary power trio, paving the way for Robin to be the deserved guitar hero that he is. A mix of hard bluesy rock, the album contains nuggets of genius throughout, none more so than on the title track, I Can't Wait Much Longer, and Daydream amongst others. This new deluxe version is housed in a gatefold sleeve and is remastered for 2023. It features 3 unreleased versions of album tracks, the B side of the "Man Of The World" single (Take A Fast Train) and 4 BBC John Peel sessions.

  3. Probably also depends if its the icing on the cake or the cake itself! From what I saw, New Orleans bands do an hour tops and then move on to another bar, another audience.
  4. You are the expert Daryl! 🙏 I was thinking of Nashville and New Orleans where there are bands who I was told get tips only. In NO I learned the importance of the bass solo in the penultimate song - it let the guitarist circulate with the tips jar!😂
  5. If you don’t mind me asking, is the tip bucket a regular thing or needed to top up your fee? I’ve often wondered, but have aeen them most in the States where bands often play for nothing.
  6. The above is a truly excellent post!👏
  7. Do you know, noted football fan Jeff Lynne should consider a celebratory version of Mr Blue Sky re-titled Gareth Southgate. Or maybe not… 😂⚽️
  8. My gig is a postponed one from last Saturday. I shamelessly intend to change into my 1966 World Cup shirt for the encore, and alter change the chorus of Mustang Sally to Win England win… 😂 Sadly, I think Y Viva Espana would be more accurate.
  9. RRP £15. Price £8 includes UK P&P. Excellent condition. Fascinating read from a man who produced the greats.

  10. Was in a band with one of the later Records members. They were a good little power pop outfit. My then girlfriend dragged me to many a gig!
  11. And another perfect transaction - this guy keeps delivering!
  12. What kind of notice did they need (ie how early do they plan?) Were they general fests or generic? Is it for money, exposure or both? Questions, questions!🙏
  13. This is the time of year I always rue the fact we never get on any festival bills. It anyone has the secret to this, and how to sort the worthwhile (financially and otherwise) from the really not worth it, please feel free to share! 🙏
  14. Thankfully it seems it’s not coming to that. But take it from where? The studio? The lockup? The stage?
  15. I wont be mean and ask name of band and brand of basses😈 That would really be nerdish…
  16. What are you called and what was your gear set-up?
  17. Whereabouts geographically is this, my friend? Hope it goes well.
  18. You’re not in a very strong position, unfortunately. When do they propose paying you off? If it’s just the one gig I am not sure I’d be fussed. After all, how can you stop them playing?
  19. Put sold in the heading (edit) and it will lock thread
  20. Is he the artist formerly known as Sire?😈
  21. Hillbilly Vegas - The Great Southern Hustle About to tour the UK, this Oklahoman outfit are stupendous live and pretty hot in the studio. Grab their latest, still sealed and pristine, at a bargain price! Yours for £8, UK post inclusive. Now £6 Here they are in action.

  22. May I say Pete is a gentleman and a scholar who looks after his instruments impeccably and goes the extra mile when it comes to a deal? There, I did! Good luck with the sale.
  23. Indeed. They’re an anomaly, a band without a frontman whose drummer uses a hand-held mic to converse with the audience every third song or so. We could spend hours discussing the use of the gong…😂
  24. Guy Pratt watch… Poole, 25/6/24. Alternated a Ricky with two Precisions, once donning a Telecaster guitar! Put a Quadrophenia bass riff into Arnold Layne and a Jam riff into See Emily Play. Did a surprising amount of lead vocals. Cued Nick Mason in numerous times, only to be repaid by the comment that ‘both bass players I have worked with have been…awkward’. All in all a solid 8 out of 10 on a night when England were decidedly missable. I would recommend Saucerful of Secrets!
