SOLD..SOLD..........For anyone not familiar with Paulman,he's based in Huddersfield and has been building high-quality Basses and Guitars since the 70's..This particular model was made around 2005..34"scale.....Body is mahogany with quilted maple front..neck is flamed-maple with rosewood/bubinga/ebony inserts..board is wenge with dot markers on the side...Pups & actives are Goldo[Germany] and feature simple bass/treble cut/boost with passive switch on rear volume control..heavy duty bridge is also Goldo and offers lateral adjustment for string spacing..Tuners by Schaller....Medium weight..Superb cond, usual light playing marks..Neck is quite substantial in that Paulman tends to use oversize boards - it's also quite wide..It plays really well due to the beautifully rolled edges...I seem to favour flat profile necks nowadays hence my reason for selling...trades considered for 5/6 fretted or not, mark head, aggi cab or similar stuff.....£450 with soft case....................................................http://www.paulman.co.uk/index.htm.
I play in a ska band and my style of play isn't what i'd call that traditionally skaish. I play a lot of melodically bluesy lines as it's just my style and how i write things. Big bouncy fun catchy basslines. When i try and be skay i end up just using loads of 1st/3rd/5th arpeggios. What should i look at doing to give myself as ska-ish vibe as possible?
.........................How about listening to some Ska and figuring what's happenin'

Tokai Jazz Fretless...SOLD..SOLD
Beneath It All replied to Beneath It All's topic in Basses For Sale

Never thought I'd sell this, times change however, and I don't get on with 4 strings nowadays..Tokai early 80's neck with extended unlined rosewood board, original tuners and plays like a dream....Body not too sure about - it appears to be alder..Pickups are schallers with adjustable poles..This bass sings and ideally it needs to be seen and played..Very light..£250 or would consider selling the neck only for £150[p/x for fretted neck possible]..
