1. All about Ampeggy tones. There are a lot of people on here who will have more to say!
2. I do exactly this with my VTBass Deluxe, I have 6 presets and the bypass is very clean IMHO!
3. Great job, really liking this. Nice work fellas.

6. Three pedals for sale Wah One, MXR Octave and MXR Envelope Need some funds quickly, so... [s] EBS Wah One Bought from BC'er Paul McNamara a few weeks back - I'm not talented enough for it! Apart from the EBS Stanley Clarke Wah Wah Pedal (see last month's BGM) the EBS Wah One is probably the Rolls Royce of Bass Guitar Wah Wah's! Wah-wah and Volume pedal in one; select wah-wah or envelope filter character, equipped with awarded ”tubesim” circuitry, extremely wide frequency range, especially good for tone shaping and highlighting certain frequencies on a fretless for that Mick Karn sound; possible reversed pedal action. In excellent condition. Purchased new in March 2006, little used. RRP is now £180, though generally sell at about £160. Looking for £80 posted (its quite a heavy unit). Further details from http://www.bass.se/2009/wahone.htm[/s] [s]MXR M82 Envelope - SOLD Bought BRAND NEW last week from Absolute for £115.00. Save yourself 20 quid, yours for £95.00 posted MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe - SOLD Bought off BC'er, Jamesemt. Octave is in perfect condition, but I'm just not going to use the effect in a band situation. Selling for what I paid, £80 posted.[/s] PM me if you are interested, will answer immediately as I'm at a desk all day
7.
perhaps some sort of preamp/ boost before it? I have to have my sens quite low too
I'll put my Keeley Blues Driver in front of it tonight and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion.
8.
MB1. Just an afterthought!, Where do you hang your clothes?,or have you given up wearing them
Take one look at the avatar! fantastic job and a wonderful collection.
9. Thank you both. The treble certainly helps and I've played around with the sensitivy and Q controls too. Still have to play very hard indeed to get it to kick in. As I play fingerstyle rather than slap and pop, would that make a difference? Is it the flatwounds? Is it more about speed of attack rather than playing hard? I watched Ed Friedland's YouTube vid for Bass Guitar mag, demoing the M82 and he had to turn the sensitivety down! Watching his right hand, he wasn't being overly aggressive. http://youtu.be/opKs5ZGqVpg I'm practically twanging my strings like a Strongbow advert here! Very hard to get a quack on E and A strings - is that just the case with envelope filters? Thanks again.
10. I'm playing around with my new M82 with passive J's strung with flats. Even with the sensitivity maxxed, I'm have to dig in finger bleedingly hard to get this thing quacking! Am I missing something here? Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks very much, Chris
11. Nothing to see here anymore!
12. Quick bump before £Bay sucks up a huge percentage of my pedal fund!
13.
Oops this came out longer than I realised (as the bishop etc etc) Messing with a few clips found on my HD in the limited version of Live I have. Any good to you? E - 90BPM
Thanks so much for this.
14. Played this last night when the kids were in bed. I heard my wife stop what she was doing outside the door and listen - that doesn't happen too often! Decided to keep it for the time being, sorry if you have messaged me and are considering it. Edit: Whoops - didn't mean to bump either! Sorry.
Selling my Sansamp VT deluxe, as I've now got an SVT 2, and its become redundant. This is programmable 6 channel version with a DI. It's mint, but can take pictures if needed. £150 + p&p Cheers, Dave
What a bargain. I love mine.
16.
How about putting the effects in loop A,the U- Bass in loop B,and putting the VT Bass in the output after the line selector? Then the VT is always available, but you can bypass it when you use the U-Bass. Ok...your signal will always be passing through the VT,but it's not going to be a big deal.
Thanks for that, good idea, appreciated. Should I keep the reverb and chorus in the VT effects loop? Tech 21 says that time based FX should be after the VT or in the loop.
17. Is there a better way to do this? After spending time with a GT-10B, I decided what I needed (yes, I know it's a very personal choice and not everyones cup of tea!) and I'm putting together my first pedalboard. Everything will be on my pedaltrain 2 with Voodoo power supply. I've studied lots of posts on here and articles on other sites, even a couple of books. I know I'll need to experiment with the order, but would the order below be a sensible first stab at it? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bass into: Boss TU-3 Tuner > LS-2 Line Selector Send A: EBS WahOne > MXR BEF > MXR BOD > EHX Bass Big Muff > VT Bass Deluxe (VTBD Effects loop: Strymon BlueSky > EHX Small Clone) Send B: Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator (for my Kala uBass) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ One thing I would really like to do, but I can't get my head around how I would do it, would be to have an option that bypasses everything but the VTBD, so I would end up with 3 loops plus a bypass: 1. Only VTBD 2. All effects available (inc. VTBD) 3. Kala uBass setup 4. Bypass, straight to amp (which is a PJB Suitcase which has 2 channels with seperate EQ's) Any ideas? Can this be done? have I missed something stupidly obvious? Thanks for any help or advice you can give. Chris
18. Quick Monday morning bump before it gets ebay'd. Anyone fancy a beautifully setup electro acoustic with a neck to die for?
19. Thanks both. It is a fantastic bass, but I now have the kala ubass for unplugged practice, so it's not getting used. And my better half is seriously questioning the number of basses I have. No idea why.
20. Sorry, my bad. It's a head.
21. Don't they do a rack mount version? Sure I saw one on their site a while back?
22. We do some Old Crow Medicine Show covers and the kala uBass running through a Boss AC-3 Acoustic sim does the job for me. It takes many hours of noodling to get used to the scale, high action and the pups, but it's great fun, the sound is pretty much spot on. The best thing is, I take it everywhere! You can practice anywhere because it's virtually silent from 3 feet away. Oh, and it's almost weightless too. I'm loving it.
