1. Can anyone recommend any good books/dvd for fretless bass playing/tuition. Amazon has a few but no idea if they are any good or not. Thanks
  2. I have 2 x GS112 and they really are amazing sounding cabs. I run them with my Genz Benz Shuttle 6 amp and I have no need or desire to change either.
  3.
I can chime in a little. I really wanted to like the ex demo Streamer 5 $$ I had for about 3 days but I just didn't gel with the neck, and more so first fret position. If you already know you like that, you might like the $$ as it sounds very different to the Stingray. Totally different tone to me. Hopefully this helps.
Hey Gareth, yeah thats a great help. My Corvette has a super thin neck. It did take me a few month to get used to the longer neck and the first fret position but now its fine. So how would you descibe the sound if nothing like a Stingray? Tight, punchy, clean, smooth. Would be really interested to hear your thoughts.
  4. I've sold my 75 Jazz so now I am thinking about getting a Streamer $$ or LX. I like the idea of an LX but its too expensive new and very unlikley I will find a second hand one in natural Ash. The other option is the Streamer $$ but again quite pricey new and again unlikley to find a second hand one in natural ash. I'm also a bit worried the $$ will make it sound too similar to my stingray considering it has the same pickups.
  5.
I think this might have been mine for a while - very nice bass. Replaced it with an NYC Sadowsky which cost over a grand more but wasn't proportionally better!
Hey Barrie, Philly now owns your lovely Fender Jazz that I bought from you. Is there any bass that you have not owned on here? :)
  6. I saw this bass last night and had a quick play and it is a wonderful. The neck is so nice with great action. Its also very light. When Philly pulled it out the case, it was a case of "WOW". Someone's going to get a very nice bass.
  7.
Yep will do Michael, had a practise last night and shes a beauty! Good to meet you too, I just have to sell one of the family now to recoup the money! I must stop looking at this marketplace!
Really pleased you are happy with it, an amazing bass for sure. The thing I liked most was it was so reliable. You could plug it into anything and play any situation and it sounded great. A really good work horse.
  8. Now Sold. Many thanks to Philly. Great to meet you and look after her for me.
  9. Did we ever find out a price and what colour the bass is?
  10. Tell him under the laws setout by Ebay that the price it sold for is the price you buy if for. So unless he sells you if for that, you will not pay him any different and will leave negative feedback and report him to Ebay.
  11. Beautiful bass. I have the fretted version and its amazing. Good luck with the sale.
  12.
I would be happy to model it for free at my house for an extended term Linus T
13.
There's only one thing that could make that bass look any sexier. have it modelled by one of your avatars Linus T
Not sure thats possible. All the girls in my avatar are busy tonight :) I could offer to model it myself but I think that would de-value it quite considerably
  14.
And I suppose it has a nice low action and, it will be perfect for my small hands to play, sumbitch, why did I come on here tonight? Having a crisis...
HEHEHE erm, I would not say I have very big hands, maybe medium and its lovely to play. The neck really is beautiful. If I could afford to keep it and buy a Streamer I would but something has to go
  15. *** NOW SOLD TO PHILLY *** Hi All, Not sure I am doing the right thing here as I love this bass and I'll probably regret selling it, but I have major GAS for a Warwick Streamer. For sale is my MIA Fender Jazz 75 Re-Issue. It's a beautiful bass and the nicest, easiest bass I have ever played. It is effortless to play and has a wonderful Jazz tone. I bought this from Molan for £750 last year but after buying a Warwick Corvette earlier in the year, I am totally bitten by the whole Warwick thing and really have GAS for a Streamer. I am not after making any money on it so I would be looking to get back around what I paid for it from Molan. The bass is in mint condition as you can see from the pictures. No dents, scratches, buckle rash etc. However, there is a very small mark on the first fret between the A and D string. It can't be seen visually and does not affect the playing in any shape or form. Molan and I were both aware of this and found it did not cause any problems, either playing or adjusting the truss rod. I have tried to include a picture of the 1st fret but like I say, you can't really see anything. The bass comes with a Fender fitted hard case, new Elite Stadium strings and polishing cloth. I am based in Surrey and any inspection/trial is very welcome. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I would like around £750 for it plus courier at buyers cost. I am also willing to meet part way if not too far away.
  16.
if you were to put him into a category I suppose he would be 'Classic Autism' - but when I started working with him about a year ago I was told he had "Severe autism, learning disabilities and other challenging behaviours". He can't speak, but can understand what is being said to him to an extent, whether he chooses to acknowledge what you say is another story! I firmly believe that he is a genius in his own right. He uses his little book (which is there in the picture) to point at a picture of something that he wants (usually a jigsaw puzzle, pancakes or 'the shop') and we can communicate by using hand gestures such as high fives or waving. I gave him my first ever bass, an encore P bass, and he loves it! ...however he just puts it in his mouth...we'll get there though!
I really admire people like you who do this sort of work helping others who really can't support themselves. I think it takes a very special person to do what you do. Keep up the good work fella.
  17.
A photo from a recent band practice for a band i was depping with
There is something so very wrong with the picture. The bassist is fine and the bass is fine also. Its just they should not be together, the bass is with the wrong bassist
  18.
female guitarist? HOTTTT
Singer looks ok from that angle also
  19. U2 - New Years Day (Adam Clayton) Simple Minds - The American (Derek Forbes) Duran Duran - Rio (John Taylor)
  20.
I set it by playing normally, turn gain up until clip light just starts to flash, turn gain down slightly, turn master up to achieve desired volume/structural damage.
Yep, same as me.
  21.
BUMP. P's are so yesterday ;-)
Yeah to right, the hot kids are all playing Warwick's now Come and smell the real flavour, join the party and get yourself a Warwick :)

    SOLD.
Not unless she's wrapped the box up....... June? haven't you sold the natural as well?? That's torture!! Go for it mate.
Yeah the natural is sold but the teal one is just in the case upstairs, screaming to be opened and played
  23.
You wont be saying that next year when we all have Sandbergs lol.
Well, I'm over the moon with my Warwick. Plus my Stingray is great and my Fender Jazz is a great all rounder. However, in the back of my mind I know that there is a distinct possibility that you could be right. For once I actually fear the future
  24.
Yeah, a bit like a P bass :-) I loved the PM5 i played a few years ago, and while i dont regret getting a Lakland instead i always thought i would get a Sandberg one day. I think im on a active bass trip at the moment and by all accounts the PM4 does active in a very passive sounding way.
WARWICK Sorry, had to mention that one
  25.
I know what you mean about the sandbergs. Pretty plain and sightly ugly to my eyes but they do seem to offer everything i want. The Sterling is definitely out now. I just dont want a skinny neck any more. Still up for a SR5 though. That would offer me narrower string spacing and the lower notes. If i got one of those i would sell the Ray34 and buy a cheap P or PJ. Go one, have a sneaky play. She will never know.....unless she comes on here ;-)
I would imagine the Sandburg is a bit like my ESP. Nothing special to look at but the most amazing tone and playability. I get the impression from Nick that his is like that and from other people's comments. Probably one of those basses that does not grab your attention in a shop but if you ever pick it up and play then you will be blown away by it.
