1. leave the strings in a sealed container of methelated spirits over night and you'll find most of the finger meat has collected in the bottom of the container by morning, get a clean cloth (dry) and wipe of the rest of the methelated spirits and with it any left over finger meat.
2. I HAVE IT I HAVE IT IT'S SOOO COOL heres a rubbish webcam pick (sorry don't have my cam)
3.
I managed to think of this in a rude way.
there's allways someone
4. I agree with pretty much all of this thread (I'm a yes man) except that the forum has lost it's touch etc. If this site was full of people putting up post about this or that and everyone just said 'yes, good point' this would be a very un exciting forum. I agree there's a thresh hold which people may reach quicker than others but instead of abusive returns at maybe 'offencive' highly opinionated topics maybe one should think "If you don't have anything nice to say (or constructive) just don't say it" and leave the topic to burn itself out without ever getting wound up over what is really nothing to get wound up over. Personally I love this site, it's become my no.1 forum for posting on, and if people want to say something that may cause annoyance like "I hate Jazz", fine by me, i don't have to read it afterall. P.S: 2 days till christmas!!!!
5. I was once given a carlsbro bass amp to play through when we did a performance at my school, so willingly i put my bass into it and plucked the first note of our song..... no sound, my mate said he had tested it which probably means he'd turned it on to see if the blue light appeared i played the song through the mic... irritating as hell. yeah from what i've heard peavey is good, plus if you want to really change your sound theres allways basspod
6.
How much you betting you end up breaking your fingers and cant play it for ages anyway lol?
you have no idea how much wood i had to touch just then!!!!
7. i seem to have this thing going on where if i update one piece of kit everything else has to rise to the same level, i've got a new bass, this means i'll have to trick out my old one and make it a similar standard just because, i got a new amp therefore i had to get a new bass, there are allso litle extras i keep getting round the side, like a looper pedal and just yesterday i bought guitar brackets to mount on my bedroom walls.
8.
Remember to check leads and your amp as well !!
Ok this is the status: 1. My sis is buying me 9v batteries for christmas (and she has i was there) 2. The ultra high quality leads i ordered have arrived (and are a pleasing standard) 3. I only got my current amp in september so thats fine 4. the box containing the item in question is in storage under the tree I am totally ready for christmas day!
9. personally i would stay fretted but home 'adapted' basses I feel deserve to stay with their creators, one of my mates has a peavy and has reipped the frets off (done quite a good job) and has given it a few scars over time, he doesn't play it but can't bear to part with it. however on this ocassion i would jump for a fretted but thats just me... i know get drunk and see how you feel after that
10. leaves alot to the imagination thats for sure
11.
Despite my avatar I only ever have 1 pint before a gig.Left-handed Woodbines are a complete no-no for me(I used to indulge but all it made me was paranoid and hungry).
you're avatars pretty accurate then, after all i don't see two pints in the picture
12.
It's fine, i've had it over 3 years now and defretted it about 9 months ago. Sounds great - only the preamp lets it down (not much EQ control).
I've never found fretless basses that appealing for some reason, maybe because you have to be more accurate or maybe because i don't reallylike the 'wah', dunno really...
13.
Christmas morning chez Ergon: "There you go son. I know you said you wanted a Yamaha but the guy in the shop said this Squier was just as good"
If that's what happens i hope my dad likes the taste of wood.
14. i've tried playing after quite a bit of drink at home last new year and my accuracy deteriated quite badly and i was unable to play even quite simple tunes with enough accuracy, i allso dented the acoustic i was playing on. i don't smoke.
15. i would have loved to get a 775 but it's pricey, how does it handle?
16. aside the shape of the box and the fact my dad told thats what he was getting and asked me which one i wanted? In have a nack for guessing
17. 2 (including the one in my front room that i can't touch till christmas) =971
18.
Nice purchase though, what colour did you go for ?
had to be flat silver, just looks so clean and new
19. I absolutly cannot wait till christmas! there is in my front room a wrapped box containing a shiny new RBX 375 and i can't go near it , i feel like a 4 year old, except when i get my present i won't destroy it like a four year old. knowing my luck however it won't have a battery in the pre amp and i'll have to wait till the 27 to get the most out of the bass. can't.... wait.... dying..... urgh... urrrrgh.
20. That is one cool as bass! loooks incredible professional and all, kepp up the excelent work! I want that one
21. 3 months, i found the first year was very important to get as much practice in as possable with or without anyone to jam with, a good way to improve is to force yourself to practice once a day for about an hour, it's hard work but pays off also playing alotng to CDs is a close to jamming way of practicing.
22. i'm getting and yamaha RBX 375 to replace my westfield which is falling apart and a Boss RC-2 loop station oh AND chocolate etc. etc.
23. Ya this one is good welcome aboard
