1. cool thanks! i've placed a wanted add, and i'll have a look around, i'm very sceptical about ebay these days as i've heard so many stories of blokes buying expencive things only to get half of what was advertised (in one case it was only half a motorbike - which i read in 'bike' magazine a while back-) however i'll look around on sites such as; GAK, amazon, Absolute music solutions etc. i'm quite interested in finding a yamaha cab or an ashdown cab (who i was going to -but didn't- buy a combo from instead of the cube at one point!)

3. you are probably going to say "AND?" but i don't really like the aethsetics of peavy amps, what about yamaha? one of my mates has a 500w cab by them that looks really good, and generally japanese products are cheap and build to last
4. i'm going to sound retarded when i say this but, you can get fretless acoustic basses???
5. i thought that list was gitarists?? slash certainly isn't a bassist
6. mines a westfield, no, i haven't hear of them either.
7. yeah it has all the right stuff! and external speaker jack etc. and i re-read my instruction manual too

hey everyone

is an extension speaker socket the three pronged one which says balanced out on the back of my amp? (technical talk here ) oh! maybe its the socket on the back that says {external speaker 8 ohm lol!} either way it said in the instruction manual somewhere that it could be used as a head to drive cabs i'll just have to re-read it
9.
Well guys, I'm a bit confused here... I have never heard about this Grolsch strap locks thing before. What is all about? Could anyone explain it?
Likewise!
10. you could get a head phone splitter for like £1 dunno what effect this would have on your amp but i doubt it would do much damage headphone splitter
11. i think i'm gonna be beaten to those T.E cabs anyway cos it will take me more than a month to earn enough dough! i had heard that behringer cabs are good but need reassuring, wont blow up is allways a good sign! would it be usable if i used a combo amp as a head like for example my Roland cube?
12. oooh i sooo want them! if i can source the money... don't hold your breath though.
13. whoa serious??? i only work part time so it would take me forever to make the money in time (school gets in the way god damn)
14. i was going to by a trace elliot cab but it has come to my attention that i am too poor instead i would like to go for this instead the Behringer ultra bass BA410 i will of course be buying a head of some sort but i haven't decided what yet, anybody got one/ used one? if so tell me whats good and bad please and if it's terrible whats an allternative thats affordable (around the same price of this kit on GAK) Behringer BA 410
15. horray for surrey! hi there i'm from the leatherhead area
16. 5 i got tired of? erm ok, well there was: -stu hamm who i thought was god at one point but listened to some other stuff by him and found it boring -never got into victor wooten enought to have a good opinion -errm yeah sting... yeah someone told me he was a good bassist but i've never seen him write or play anything of any additional complication or variation to his usual linier simple basslines errrrrm... stuck... bassists i love is easier: -oliver reidel, not amazingly complicated playing but seeman is some brilliantly written music. -john paul jones, excelent bassist and musical director -flea, hes good fun and very creative with his playing wow i'm bad at thinking of stuff... that'll do i say

hey everyone

thank you, i can rest in the knowledge that the cube was £300 well spent, one thing that does annoy me however is even though this amp is excelent, i still get drowned out when performing live! I only perform small gigs at the moment but my band is planning to get out to bigger ones soon (might be doing dorking halls at some point) and i really want to use the excellent sound of my cube, yes i know it's just a really fancy practice amp but i want to use it on stage and show off it's fancyiness, if i got a cheap(ish) cab around 100w or something and hooked it up to the roland (through the line out on the back) would i get the excellent sound quality the cube produces out of the cab or not?
18. that stuff looks trick! I don't know anything about GK but it does look very cool!

hey everyone

yup thats the one pretty much mine has a slightly different leather end to attach to the bass but other than that it's pretty much the same

hey everyone

here's a design close to but not the same as my strap the concept is the same but my elasticated part is in a different place and the build quality might be slightly higher, the company mine was from also did heavy weight distributing full leather strap as well whivch the website linked doesn't. padded strap similar to mine but not quite

hey everyone

the strap was actually a christmas pressie from my sister, I've seen the website before but can't recall the name and one thing the company hasn't thought of is writing their name on the strap!!! If i find out, and i will ... eventually you'll be the first to know.
22. Hi there everyone, i've been playing bass for just over 2 1/2 years now, some of my gear is excellent (in my personal opinion) some of it however is not so brilliant. My bass: Westfield B1000 -isn't actually that bad a bass considering it only cost me £80 brand new, my dad has promised to get me a yamaha RBX374 for christmas though which should be a good piece of kit.- My Amp: I currently have a Roland Cube CB-100 but i want to get a tracy elliot cab as an addition and use them in conjuntion which should be loud enough for when I perform live Strap: this is when you say yeah right, but no, my strap is one of my best pieces of gear, it's by a small company in the uk and is padded and elasticated at one end to help make playing for comfortable. Look forward to talking to everyone and getting to learn and share techniques etc.
