Nope but it looks bloody awful!
You got that right, looks like a homebuild jobby, as an O-Level Project!!
The sunburst looks dreadful, I've never seen a Fender body that dark by the edges.
The picture is definitely of a real 1960, this dark edged burst is very common on 1960 Jazz basses, almost all original '60 sunburst jazzes i've seen are like this, they fade to an almost 2-tone appearance. (See examples below for reference) Is the auction real............yeah right!! Has all the signs to avoid, zero feedback, especially rare item, poorly described, almost no pictures, starting price of £1, and no replies to questions.
Hi there, I'm also the proud owner of a 1966 Vox Foundation Cab. Solely made with Macca in mind, for their upcoming '66 tour, where he stated he wanted something smaller and lighter, but as punchy as the Super Foundation. So from this I would guess what you've got is actually an early 1966 Vox cab. I may be mistaken, but obviously they never toured after 1966, so I'd be suprised if its 67.
Surprised if that were true, because this is larger and heavier than a foundation cab, being the super twin foundation, its the biggest bass cab they did in this series, as a 2x15. Also, if it was a '66, it would be a JMI badged model, they are'nt, they are Vox Sound Ltd, which would suggest late '67-early '68, after applying serial numbers etc. Anyway, someone else is now the proud owner, i sold it last week, and miss it already, just don't have the space, and the sound wasn't great, as with most solid state vox amps!

Which Basschatters bass would you most like to own? (and why?)
Anything from Ricksfine52 collection would probably secure at least two of anything anyone else suggests but that would be cheating......I will come back later....
Thanks Pete, I'd swap them for more ability in the bass department though, I hit a wall a few years back, and can't seem to improve anymore! Hey, ho! -
John Entwhistle's Jazz Bass?
Rick's Fine '52 replied to dannybuoy's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
quote The vintage and rare shop in Bath had an original Entwistle Jazz bass in stock for sale of course. It was from his collection and was considered to have been in since around mid 70's and was being offered at 34k or there abouts poss two years ago?? It was featured in a book called "Bass Culture - The John Entwistle Collection". so had some documentary historical evidence of sorts.quote It was this one, actually in their London branch, an almost mint 1960 stack knob in see through blonde, it was offers around £34K, staggering condition, simply stunning, almost new stacker, worth £20k without the pedigree. Apologies for the picture, i was trying it out whilst down there one day to pick up a '56 P, and they left me in the basement with it while they went up to the shop, and couldnt resist a picture, with what is arguably the rarest bass out there, so had to set the camera up on a side cupboard for the pic, not the best!! Anyway, getting back to thread, the ebay ad is hilarious, nuff said!! Someone will be dragged into it though no doubt, shame... -
Looking at your equipment list this might seem a silly question but... are you ONLY interested in vintage and/or Fender stuff?
Generally speaking yes, nothing else works for me i'm afraid. Cash sale is my preference, and every day i'm prepared to accept less!

Original Beatles 60’s Vox Bass Rig I'm selling my Vox Super Foundation Bass Rig. This is the amp that Paul McCartney used with the Beatles for recording Norwegian Wood, Day Tripper and Lady Madonna, and there may well be others, although these are documented (Based on some quick research). Prior to me purchasing this rig, it had one owner from new, and is all original. A fine example of a super rare, matched rig. Amp Head VOX SUPER FOUNDATION BASS. Serial Number 2680, which I believe, from research (I’m no expert, so please check for yourself), that this dates from 1967-1968, although they are not always entirely accurate, from what I’ve read. Twin channel, 200Watt Solid State Head. The ‘Big One’. Effects and distortion knobs, footswitch, plus controls and inputs for each channel. The cloth is all intact, and in excellent condition, the corner protectors are all original, with VOX decals. The top grilles are also original with VOX decals. Handle again is original, with VOX decal. All parts are original. ‘VOX’ badge, and ‘Super Foundation Bass’ badge are intact and original. Rear, metal, serial number plate label intact. Channel 1 is not working (?), although as its solid state there isn’t much to check/repair, sadly I don’t have the knowledge for such things, its been like this since I bought it, and I just haven’t got round to looking at it, and if I’m honest, probably never will. I originally bought this to pair, and display with a Hofner Violin Bass, but it never materialised! Speaker Cabinet VOX SUPER TWIN FOUNDATION BASS, Serial number 327, which I believe, from research (I’m no expert, so please check for yourself), that this dates from 1967-1968, although they are not always entirely accurate, from what I’ve read. It was purchased brand new with the head, so assume dating is consistent. 2x15” Vertical stacked speakers, the diamond cloth is all intact, with some scuffs expected with this age, and in very good condition, no rips or holes, the corner protectors are all original, with VOX decals. All parts are original. Vertical ‘VOX’ badge, and ‘Super Twin Foundation Bass’ badge are intact and original. Rear, metal, serial number plate label intact. Cab comes with original trolley casters on rear, and metal holding stands to front. The top comes with the original chrome tubular handlebars, used to push/pull the unit around (despite its size, this addition is an extremely simple design, and makes the unit easy to transport around. These chrome tubular bars also act as the support cradle for the amp head, which locates itself on top. These original chrome stands are extremely sought after in their own right. Overall, this is a fantastic, all original, rarely seen, and importantly, a perfectly matched vintage sixties Vox bass rig, cosmetically it shows it's age with the expected wear and tear but nothing major wrong as the pictures show. The unit is quite large and so local pick-up is the only sensible option available, which can be arranged from Cambridge . It’s large, but the cab fits on the backseat of my Mondeo (Yes, i know, sorry about that ), so you don’t need to rent a HGV!! I‘m not big on amps (Vintage guitars is my thing), so have based the price on recent sales prices on similar items, and after some advice from someone far more knowledgable. So if you're interested, please make an offer of what it's worth to you. I need to sell this rig, as i need the space, so get in touch. Apparently worth around £1200 Uber cool rig though, wish I had the space to keep it. Thanks for looking.
