1. Sold to the gentleman from Belgium!
2. Pair of surprisingly high quality bass cabs in very good, clean condition. Each has two 10" woofers, a mid-range and a treble speaker with adjustable attenuators. The Low-B is designed to give a very deep bass sound and reproduce accurately the lowest frequencies on a 5-string bass. Some people even use these for synths. If you haven't heard of Acme gear they are well worth checking out. There are good online reviews, and at the acmebass website you can download an owner's manual for these cabs. 4 ohms each. £300 the pair. Will split but together they make a good portable rig. Based in Fife but can happy to deliver up to 60 miles, or courier at your cost within UK only. From a smoke-free, pet-free home.
3. Rare SWR Mo'bass in very good condition and perfect working order. Serious 900W power with awesome built-in effects! This particular amp was professionally adapted internally to suit UK voltage by the Bass Centre in Wapping, who were an SWR authorised service centre. 3U rackmountable. One of the rackmount lugs appears to have been bent and straightened in the past, see photo. A couple of light scratches on top surface, but you will struggle to find a better example. Home use only, from a smoke-free, pet-free house. Comes with bypass footswitch. I also have the Mo'control foot board which I will list separately. £600 for the amp delivered within UK. I'm based in Fife.
4.
Would that be Jason by any chance?
No, not Jason, but this gentleman sounds very keen and has some ideas for expanding the site. I will let everyone know soon what's happening.
5.
If you haven't sorted something already, we'd be happy to do this for you via the BC server and rescue it for you. I'm just talking to the others about the details so I'll give you a point of contact in due course.
Hi Ped, and thank you to everyone who has replied on here. I am interested in your suggestion of hosting it on BC. Is there anything similar on here already? How would you see it working? Do you have in mind someone with editorial control, I mean rather than just threads where anyone can chip in? A bass player from the USA has been in touch, he sounds very keen and well qualified, and I was just about to give him the nod when I saw this.
6. Hi guys, Trevor & Eric, and that must be you Carl! How are you all doing? It would be easy to transfer the site over to a free host. However I am really looking for someone full of youthful enthusiasm to take over the site; someone who has the time to deal with new contributions and maybe track down some of the "missing" models? Uploading files to a host server is easy. Creating pages takes longer. I learned basic html source code, but these days hosts tend to have their own creating programs which are easy to use. I'll stick an advert on the site itself. Meanwhile if anyone out there feels like giving it a go please PM me.
7. For years I have been running a website about Aria SB basses. I've been thinking about packing it in for a while now. My domain hosting is due for renewal in a month, and with other interests these days I can no longer be bothered maintaining the website. Plus I can't afford it right now! I would like the resource to keep running though, it has given me and some others a lot of pleasure over the years. Is there any fellow BCer who would be willing to take over the reins? You would have complete control over future content. Graeme
8. Check this Moonstone on eBay. Gorgeous. There's a Moonstone bass, albeit not this model, featured in an old book which I bought in 1983 called The Complete Guitar Guide. The photo is black & white and I've never even seen one "in the flesh" before. I still feel slightly stunned ... The reviewer in the book was worried the wood in the neck might want to move but be prevented by the graphite. He says "the consequences hardly bear thinking about" and hopes Moonstone pre-empted that one.
9. PM sent
10. Hey Pete, welcome to the forum. I'm interested in your amp and cab but where are you are located? Are they in good working order? Does amp have any faulty knobs or make any strange noises?! You should sell these quickly especially if you include a photo or two.
11. A fellow BCer recently reminded me that I still have this cab for sale. Call this a bump I guess.
12. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
13. Lol, so the strings are A and D then? Jon, what you don't know isn't worth knowing! Correction - it sounds like they are probably E & A. The band's name is an abbreviation of "Disneyland After Dark" not a possible bassline. The man in the photo is Stig Pedersen and according to Wikipedia Stig's bass guitars only have two strings or three strings. He found out in the late 1980s that he only used the E and A string when he played, and made it his mark, to have funny, good looking basses. He is also seen using a one string bass at gigs (only one string away from an air guitar). Stig designs his own bass guitars based on his own ideas and imagination.
14.
That particular seller appears to have over 2.5 million items for sale, check out some of the books for nearly £3K.........late Christmas present for that special person?
ROFL
15. Jaw drops ... Someone somewhere must be getting paid to come up with ideas like this. Do you think they cost so much due to the high cost of radioactive material?!
16. I'd not pay over £250 for this. That's one sixth of his asking price!! Does the owner know something I don't?
17. Wow, that takes the biscuit. Does the neck have a cover which comes off? If not you'd certainly have fun inventing bass lines on that. Uh, let me see. Maybe E, E, E, E, A. Or A, E, A, E, A, E, .... Come to think of it there are a lot of songs like that
18. Here's my winner - the Washburn B-20. An amazingly beautiful shape from any angle.
19.
Anything by Budgie the most underrated rock band of all time.
+1 for "Squawk" Best live album Motorhead "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith"
