1. Googled "BG1080C 8" and they are the normal speakers. In this old thread another BCer asks my exact question, and gets some interesting answers. I like the one about the Goliath being a 6 ohm cab!
2.
I had a goliath iii 8 ohm cab which measured at approx 5.9 ohms I would check the drivers and wiring to be sure they should all be marked individually
Thanks Winterfire. I didn't really want to open up the cab but it was easier than I thought. The speakers are not marked with any brand name. Each has a sticker "BG1080C 8", and the surface has "104-38" and "082 04" printed on it. Photos attached - are these the normal drivers?? I disconnected each individually, and each gave 4.4 on the multimeter. They are wired in parallel pairs of series, which means the overall reading should also be 4.4. Why it's not closer to your 5.9, goodness knows. But the dial thing inside is clearly marked "8 ohms" so at least I know what it's "meant" to be!
3. Unsure if my Goliath III is 4 ohm or 8 ohm. Have measured with a digital multimeter and am getting 4.3 ohms. Various forums say indicated reading will be about three quarters of real impedance which suggests I have approximately a 5.7 ohm cab!? Same multimeter gives 5.4 ohms on an 8 ohm Son of Bertha which seems about right. Any BCers have a Goliath they can measure so I can compare?
4. Great 4x10 in near mint condition. Chrome grille, removable castors. Only gigged four times and kept in a smoke-free, pet-free house. I paid £660 for this new about eight years ago. Marked "made in Corona, CA" and s/n CR-292594, it is the 8 ohm model. Price includes delivery within 75 miles of Dunfermline. I have had enquiries from Newcastle and Bradford from people who know what great cabs these are.
5. Wonder what would happen if someone clicked "Buy it Now". Anyone care to volunteer? Btw if you don't have four basses, I notice same seller is offering one single hanger for a slight saving. Lol!
6. They should include the basses at this price.
7. Collect for £265, or i can deliver free within reasonable distance. I'm based in Fife, Scotland.

9.
The SB900 is the passive version of the SB1000 isn't it? (googles) Yes it is.
Perhaps you mean the SB-900 is the two-pickup version of the SB-1000? The SB-700 is the passive version of the SB-1000, with a single pickup. Fwiw my 700 is the best constructed, most solid. most playable bass I have ever owned. £450 is maybe a tad steep for a 600 but they are fine instruments.
10. I take your point Kev, but am not willing to sell for that. Afraid I'm not up on tech and don't even know what X3/HD means, sorry. Bump.
11. Am I asking too much for this? Please let me know! I rejected an offer of £250.
12. Line 6 Bass Pod XT Pro multi effects unit plus FBV Shortboard foot controller. Very versatile and well made gear in superb condition and full working order. Effects unit is rack mountable (2U and that is where it has been kept. Foot controller connects via a network cable (supplied). Comes with power lead, instruction manual and in original boxes. I paid over £600 for this lot and think I've only ever gigged with it once. Sad, yes I know! Kept in a smoke-free, pet-free house. [s]£295 delivered within UK.[/s]

14. Dunno but it's quite cool. Two of the knobs look like "Warem Scarems." Anybody else remember them?!
15. Sold a Yamaha TRB-4P bass to Jamon. Great communications throughout, and payment made by bank transfer within a few hours. A polite, trustworthy and helpful buyer.
16.
Been looking for one of these myself. Any idea on the weight?
4 kg showing on my rather low-tech Aldi luggage scale. It's certainly not a heavy instrument.
17.
Ooh nice - if I wasn't getting married I'd snap your hand off
Lol, when I was married I once had to hide a bass I'd bought in the attic
18. Yamaha TRB-4P in dark teal finish. This was one of Yamaha's top basses from the 90s. A very well-constructed model featuring through neck, active electronics and gold-plated hardware including Schaller strap locks. What really makes this bass stand out is the piezo pickup built into each bridge saddle. You can get an awesome range of sounds from the TRB. Control knobs are for volume, pan, bass cut/boost, treble cut/boost and piezo blend. The flick switch is labelled "low cut" and I think it affects the frequencies through the piezo. I had been looking for one of these for ages and bought this for £750 on eBay recently. It is in near-mint condition and I can only find one light surface scratch on the neck near fret 8 and a small ding on the back of the body. So why am I selling it so cheap? Well unfortunately I find the action is a bit buzzy. I have tried adjusting it and it's not too bad. Some days I play the thing and think "Wow, this is great", other days it pisses me off. Maybe I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but it certainly doesn't play as well as my Aria SBs. Most folk could probably live with it. If you took this bass to a luthier for some work on the frets you would end up with a top-class bass but I can't afford that just now. The other reason I'm selling is I'm now involved in a punk/New Wave tribute band so I may be looking for something a bit more in tune with the era, eg a black Precision. Perish the thought! Obviously I would prefer potential buyers to try this bass out, but I will make a video for anyone who is seriously interested. £425 delivered within UK, comes with Yamaha's own flight case.
19.
The o p liked them here.
I suspect, as a non-bass player advertising on this site, he was probably just being polite. It sounds like his musical project is about the politics of food, so he clearly has a serious point to make. I guarantee you he'll have heard jokes like these many times before. Believe me the novelty effect soon wears off and it becomes hard to laugh sincerely.
Some veggies need to lighten up
Ray, I love good humour as much as you do. Please tell me why you think people feel the need to keep referring to meat, ham, beef and so on in a vegetarian post. If an ad says "Female bass player wanted for Grrrl band" do these same people stick up posts saying things like "I'll e-male you" or "I'm a bloke but what if I wear a bra to rehearsals"? If an ad says "Christian bass player wanted" do they feel they have to say things like "Promise you won't get cross if I don't quite nail the line"? No. They may not agree with these "belief systems" but at least they respect them.
20. Why is it that meat-eaters often resort to "humour" when they encounter a veg*n? Perhaps what we have to say might make you feel a bit uncomfortable so you try to deflect attention away from the real issues? Guys, the jokes are crap and pointless. Please leave it out, we've heard them all before.
21. Yeah I looked at that one too and was put off by the headstock shape.
22. 1) Perhaps the music is "political." It's no different to a Christian band asking for a Christian bass player. 2) It won't, but you may live longer.
23. Not an odd request at all. You're halfway there Gweb, you just need to give up dairy and eggs as well

25. Beautiful finish. Check out items 6 and 7 on a very similar model here.
