1. Absolutely go with the Big Twin II! Used my Blacksmith + Big Twin II pairing at a festival this summer and didn't turn it beyond 1/3 of its power, ridiculously loud, but a great experience to be stood in front of. Enjoy!
2. Bargain! I paid £135 for mine and it looks to be more used than this! Great bit of kit these.
3. Thanks Paul very kind! Having found, fallen in love with, and purchased a GPS Warwick Streamer LX fretless, I am now only looking for straight cash deals!
4. That would be Dingwall's magnetic battery cover! Top idea, saves getting the tools out to replace the battery.
5. https://youtu.be/BfvCemUU1Uk Video added bump!
6. Put it up on the marketplace here! I've always loved the look of them and will own one, one day, I imagine. They seem to be going up for around 1.5k on the marketplace recently and 2 have sold in the last 3 months I think? If it's never seen regular use I can understand the want to move it on. I'm in the same situation at the minute. GLWTS!
7. Bump and Demo of the bass here: https://youtu.be/dangfU1kh_A
8. Bump for new pictures and the weekend!
9. Yamaha TRB6II MIJ - £550 I've owned the bass for probably 9 months and bought from Hector of BC. Used once or twice out, and enough at home to really get me into having a 6 string. Moving this on because I found a MM Bongo 6 in London and I'm a big Bongo fan! This is the price I paid for it and seems reasonable as it's in the same condition as when I bought it - there are dings and I've tried to give you as good a representation as possible in the photos. Comes with a Carvin leather strap with the Schaller locks and a case, which I was also given when I bought it - it certainly does the job! It's my most complemented bass when it's been out and great looker, even better in the flesh. Postage can be arranged, I'm sure, but collection as always preferred! Based in Maidenhead or can be viewed in Bath on request. Thank you for looking! 10. [s]Change of heart and reassessment of what I'll genuinely use has led me to the conclusion that a Musicman /PJ pickup'd/ Jazz fretless 4 would be the way to go. Musicman Bongo 4 fretless would be the bass of choice but Stingrays or Sterlings would be considered too! Anything PJ or jazz fretless will be looked at as well, all as part of a trade + cash deal.[/s]
11. Thank you! Feel free to send me offers - [s]things of the acoustic double bass, Sadowsky and Musicman variety will be of particular interest, but something else may grab my interest, you never know![/s]
12. Ooops, that should read fretboard! Thank you for pointing that one out!
13. Dingwall ABII Walnut 5 String [s]£2475[/s] £2225 I've owned the bass for 2 years, bought new from Bass Direct. Active/Passive switchable with the Glockenklang preamp. A great sounding bass with a beautifully comfortable neck profile and a great mid presence from the all walnut body and neck with a wenge fretboard. Harmonics ring incredibly strongly and the bass retains a semi acoustic air to the sound from its cutaway. The bass has mostly stayed at home, being used only on one recording and for a couple of rehearsals in the time i've owned it. I'm only selling it because I treat it with too much respect and thus it never leaves the house and it's too good to be sat on the wall for the rest of its life. The bass has no blemishes or marking except for one very small white mark on the top of the headstock. It comes with the original Dingwall gig bag and tools! The bass is in Maidenhead, between Reading and Slough, or can be arranged to be viewed in Bath. Postage can be arranged. Thank you for looking! Video of the bass found here: https://youtu.be/BfvCemUU1Uk https://youtu.be/vt9s7x8BFX0 - Second video! 14. Sold! Apologies to all in the queue and thank you for all the interest!
15. I bought Theo's Darkglass Duality pedal. Paid for it late Wednesday night, it arrived Friday morning. What a service! A great Bass-chatter to deal with, and I would happily do so again. Thanks again Theo!
16. PMs replied! As it stands the bass is awaiting viewing on Saturday and won't be sold before this time. I guess it's on hold, therefore?
17. As it stands I have one visitor pending on Saturday. Looks like it won't be around long!
18.
400 notes? Are you mental?
Haha! I no more than I bought it for, seems fair to me!
19. Gibson Grabber G3 1976 [s]£400[/s] SOLD An absolutely phenomenal sounding instrument which is both incredibly resonant and light. This bass has clearly seen a lot of love and is very well used. I bought it a few months ago for around this price, and it has sat relatively unused at home since then. The body is stamped late 1975, but the rest 1976. A phenomenal instrument for this price but having ventured into upright bass and been drawn into the associated cost, as well as having a Musicman Bongo on order, means I need to balance the books a little. The bass doesn't have a case with it, thus it would be preferred if collection were possible. However I can ship at the buyer's expense, with as much quality packing as possible. Due to the age of the instrument this would be strongly discouraged. The bass is in Maidenhead, between Reading and Slough, but can also be viewed in the South-West in the Bath area, if prior arrangement is made. Thank you for looking! 20. Another +1 on the TRB6. Picked one up earlier this year from the marketplace for around £500. TRB6II and couldn't ask for anymore from it, especially at that price! They are very wide, but that's a good thing from my perspective...
21. Used a 4H on my first ever recording and it was phenomenal - despite my then 14 year-old self not necessarily having the most developed technique... Never forgotten that tone and am now awaiting news back from my dealer as to which 5HS Bongos are available in the UK. GAS for Bongo no. 2 was going to have to be addressed at some point!
