1. I tried some 'alice' strings, they are made in china and "are brilliant for music lovers and enthusiasts" ha they didn't really feel good, and made my USA HW1 not sound as good as it could! Has any one used some cheepo strings that are good? i always feel more inspired to play when i have fresh sounding wire.
 2.
It was born 07/25/05. What about yours? Have you any pictures?
] 1994 with trans /flea/ bridge. ill take some photo's if you give me your email address
 3. Ohh!, thats shop is in fearham! nice! ill buy some for one of my basses and yes ive sold basses before falling out with em... they needed new strings. i think i knew in the back of my mind though ha/
 4.
Don't like the idea of posting?
Not so much at the moment!, selling two bases on eBay at the moment, so ill be posting loads of basses, including the music man ive just swapped. i'm only suggesting the trade as i not yet attached to the stingray yet! and don't mind a swap plus like black. What year is yours?
 5. I brought an sr300.. owned it for a few days.. then took it back as i wasn't happy with it! (i got a refund) you should do the same. just a tip.
 6.
No mate, why do I sound like a sailor? From Cardiff. As I am sure you know there is still some debate as to what you gain with the extra EQ though.
If you where down in Portsmouth or anywhere near ide happily swap, i really like black and it would match my rickenbacker! hehe (mine is an mintish condition natural with the Birdseye neck)
 7.
Ha!Ha! But not for me mate. In a past life I was a carpenter, and for me paint kills the unique look of wood. All painted basses look the same, but there are never two grains the same, rather like snowflakes.
Very good point!, If it were a 3EQ i would swap with you, (i happen to have a natural stingray with black pick guard). ide really miss the extra 3rd band. :/ are you far from Portsmouth?
 8. Will do! I think it also compleats the look
 9.
blimy give it more than 24 hours!
Haha yeah I know, I'm too impatient.

 11.
The bridges around 1994-95 had bolts in place of the string mute/spring/thumbscrew assembly. They can be retro-fitted and now with the Classic series they are available again. I bought my mutes/springs from Mark at Bass Direct. The bridge needs to come off to fit them. They cost me all of £25 delivered
Thanks man!, robert
 12. Indeed!, very well made!, i had the fretted version too! which was lovely
 13. Used it, about 10 times at college, and at home. Never used it seriously! saying that its is pretty awesome for the price. •german made hardware •just a nut 2 •easily removable cavity, all magnetically shielded too! •well i don't really need to explain the bass to you all, i suppose you can do a quick google search to finds amy exact specs of the bass. •Sorry no trades!, unless its a carl tomson/jaydee/alembic. (yes im joking) <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=30kczmr" target="_blank"><img src="http://i52.tinypic.com/30kczmr.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=2v2woxl" target="_blank"><img src="http://i53.tinypic.com/2v2woxl.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=2col8nl" target="_blank"><img src="http://i51.tinypic.com/2col8nl.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=e6oje1" target="_blank"><img src="http://i55.tinypic.com/e6oje1.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=25yy91z" target="_blank"><img src="http://i54.tinypic.com/25yy91z.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=a479mv" target="_blank"><img src="http://i52.tinypic.com/a479mv.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=2vj6dj8" target="_blank"><img src="http://i53.tinypic.com/2vj6dj8.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
 14.
Sounds like where the mutes would go, here's my '92 bridge if that helps
http://web.ecomplanet.com/TOWN8019/mycustompage0004.htm found out mine is a 'flea' trans bridge!, or something. no string mutes, but i could install theme simply
 15. I have a 94 stingray.. with the older larger style bridge with serial number stamped onto it. okay, so there are four allen key bolts in front of the bridge saddles, and a small gap underneath the bridge and the body... am i right in thinking this is where string mutes would go?! there bolts arnt hand adjustable like the other old music man basses ive seen... can some one help me identify if string mutes can be added? or am i being silly and there just to hold the bridge on securely! please help!
 16.
I have dealt with Richard in the past and I can say with 100% confidence he is a decent guy and not a rip-off merchant. If he didn't advertise this bass as a HW1 it would have been because he didn't know it was a HW1, I am sure. So lets stop kicking the man
Everyone is nice on bass chat?! I'll keep hush in the future! didn't mean to upset anyone. sorry everyone, am i now going to be famous for being nasty? i have a topic with my name on it! :/
 17.
For Some
Didn't mean to upset/annoy/course controversy toward you. just letting you know that your bass was a highway one. pop it on eBay, and you will get a decent amount for it. just not bass chat, because the fender geeks know a lot on hear!!! sorry.
 18.
Sorry man, I cant stand rosewood boards, dont like the sound or looks of them. Though on a black bass it looks great, good luck with the sale/trade of it. Nope would only be looking for a trade for something maple, and fenderish Also I'm based down in Portsmouth, I think I am one of the only few down that far south!
im based down south!
 19.
Robert the 'knows his Fenders'
haha, cheers! i prefere that.
 20.
Who are you. Robert The Saviour
No, robert manning.
 21.
Comments about the exact model or the official name of the colour are all fine, but comments on the pricing, even if you have legitimate concerns that it may be on the high side, are contrary to the rules of the forum. Just, FYI.
Okay, just not good, seeing honest people being ripped off.
