4.
Our own Umph is tutored by that guy in the art of amp tinkering. Subthumper is in Bristol and does amp work for me. If I had it, I'd fiddle with it myself and hassle those two for instruction.
I would break it beyond repair if I started doing that! My knowledge of these things is less than limited.
5.
Im sure someone here can give a personal recomendation for a trusted old school amp repair guy. Hopefully all he would need is several detailed pics emailed to him, to give you a ballpark repair quote. Maybe you could get the quote before making an offer on the amp.
thanks Daz. Do you know who to email? These are all the pics I have.
6. The owner tells me it doesn't work atm. So, is it worth owt? Not to sell, but for me to buy. I don't know whether to try and buy it or not. I know it would need a proper restoration. That could cost a few quid….. I quite like the idea of it but don't want an expensive paper weight. Any advice welcomed.. Thanks,
7. Thanks for the replies. I will try to get pics of the insides. The amp is not here with me.
8. Hi, I am trying to find out about this amp for someone I know. They are selling it on behalf of a friend of theirs. I have never seen one like it. Is it worth anything really? Thanks,

17. 45 - 105 tried thinner and didnt like them. I have tried did a 110 E string but it made my finger ache!
18. The first 5 string bass I played was a Wal many moons ago. It was awesome. Sound, feel, weight. I wanted to buy it when it came up for sale but I didn't have the funds. Ah well. Listen to Mick Karns playing. To me, that is a classic Wal sound.
