  1. I often use your videos, really appreciate the work you put in
  2. Singer in that particular band has a great attitude. Even if there's only a handful of folk, it's their Saturday night out, and we are there to entertain them.
  3. Played to one man and his dog on a dark stage in Bath last night. Got paid, could barely see my bass, but we were ok. The owner was embarrassed for the poor turn out and very complimentary about the band.
  4. The neck now feels smooth. When the tea is still wet it's an invisible repair. Who knows? It might gradually stain down and match.
  5. Yes! Get in. HB make it so easy for us don't they?
  6. 🤣🤣🤣
  7. Larkin Poe in the Marble Factory, Bristol last night. Mind blowing. I knew I liked them, I had no idea how good they are. The musicianship was extraordinary, and the singer has one of the best voices I've ever heard. If you like the blues, and you like to rock you can't go wrong, go see them.
  8. I took my courage in my hands, watched a minute of a youtube video and broke out the soldering iron and damp flannel. My tiny little white mark became a deep series of rippling dents 🤦‍♂️ Tip: Don't press the iron, just let it create steam. GENTLY! So today out with the sandpaper, wire wool and tea...
  9. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me!
  10. Some of the older HB basses were heavy. I have a jazz 4 string fretless which could save you in a tornado. But it plays and sounds well..... except for the intonation! I feel the bridge needs to move back a mm or two to get it where I want it. Glad you're happy with your purchase. I was put off this model because of the angled pick-up design. Looks so wrong to me, but interesting to hear it looks good in person.
  11. That's a really good review, thank you. The stealth black MM and P are sooo nice to play aren't they? I like reviews where you tell us a bit about your other basses, what you like and don't like in them. It gives context to your analysis. Rather than saying this or that is rubbish you are clear that it's an area you've been unhappy in with other brands too. I have put a 4 string JJ in my basket now. Just in case the money fairy visits..
  12. I shall have to consider this carefully 😉
  13. For me the absolute star is the all black Pbass with the tort plate. It cost me less than 100 quid, but that's actually irrelevant. In looks, sound, weight, balance, feel, stability, it is everything I can ask for in a bass.
  14. It's purely my personal opinion. I don't want to influence anyone else. Some models are just good considering the price, some are amazing for the price and some are literally amazing at any price.
  15. Nathan Navarro's opinion is not to be sniffed at. I'll take his word over the snide asides of those who automatically want to believe HB can't be any good because it simply doesn't cost enough.
  16. When is it time? When Harley Benton goes out of business.
  17. Almost exactly my set up but a Midget 12" rather than a one 10
  18. Yes indeed. I have gigged mine in a couple of bands. Into a couple of mismatched speakers (a 1x12 and a 2x8) it filled the pubs with bass and never missed a beat.
  19. I have one just struggle to get the best from it
  20. What a wonderful resource, thank you so much. I'm no computer programmer so much of it is gobbledegook to me, but it's still very good of you to do this
  21. Got any settings you can share?
  22. The problem is less the depth of the dent than the pale wood showing through, but I will try this to level it up. Then a bit of stain or something.
  23. 100% certain. It happened either in the case or at the rehearsal. Weirdest thing. But I look all over a bass when it arrives and you cannot miss this.
