Anyone know if Norm is still gigging with the Blockheads? They're just down the road from us at the weekend and I'm not giging, but as much as I love them and have enjoyed watching them since Ian Dury passed, my £20 would only fight it's way from my wallet so I could stand gazing at one of my bass heroes.

Welcome one , welcome all: the LDCECC may be in it's very early days but we shall grow into a mighty movement. Until Thursday when the middle aisle gets changed.

I don't fully understand the whole Thumpinator /HPF thing. I get what it does and broadly understand why it is desirable. However your most recent post @Chienmortbbhas me questioning whether I actually have grasped it. I've spent my many long years as a bassist focused firmly on the jumping up and down pulling faces at the audience side of things, technical discussions always left me cold. Now I have an interest in learning anything and everything but I fear my brain is so much less malleable than it once was. I had formed the impression that the point was to save the speaker from wasted effort handling unwanted and unheard ultra low frequencies and in so doing enable one's amplifier to operate more effectively at lower volumes thanks to the cabs increased efficiency. This would save the amp and speaker from hard work and perhaps enable us to play at gig levels without shaking people's insides quite so much. If all this is vaguely correct then it wouldn't matter what room we were in as the Thumpinator /HPF is all about what happens in the amp and the cab. The vagaries of the room would be a job for the eq. At least that's what I thought. Now I just don't know.

Thanks for the review @spyderI don't have that set up but I do have a 2x8 cab (TC Electronic) and I agree that the weight and sound are just unreal for those of us brought up with old fashioned heavy gear. Interesting what you say about the Elf and the way it is designed. That lack of real deep bass and increased mid punch will always get you heard and keep the band mix clean. Sounds like a well thought out little amp.

Why did I read this? Want an Elf too now.

Desparate decision, my heart goes out to you. Depression and low mood don't play they are deadly serious. I hope you find something less tiring and closer to home, get the joy without the pain. Stew

So all fur coat and no knickers then. OK thanks for that.

More information: I've reloaded the firmeware and tried it with other power sources. problem persists. The problem is in fact more nuanced than I thought. When multiple effects are in a patch, stomping only turns off the effect on screen and not the whole patch. Is this perhaps the issue? If I want to use it as a simple stomp can I only have one effect loaded? Would make some kind of sense I suppose but I had hoped to have the thumpinator setting at the front of all the effects. perhaps i can't do this.

The look caught my eye. Also I have a gap in my experience which is Ibby shaped and at the same time Yamaha shaped. This and @TheGreek 's BB have got me itching.

Anyone know owt about this? Sure is a looker...

Ah that is a major oversight. I wonder if some sort of splitter cable could be made

Any ideas gratefully received on the following. When I assigned a letter to a patch or series of patches all is well, pedal behaves, stomp on the switch and voila! The next patch is selected. However if I want simply to use it as a stomp box (patch on, stomp, patch off) things take on a less predictable air. Sometimes I get the patch whether it's on or off, sometimes I get one or other of the individual effects within that patch, regardless of whether it's on or off, and sometimes it works just fine as you'd expect it to. Is there a fix? Am I doing something wrong? I did update the firmware other than that I have just followed the manual.

I had the Vox Amplug and it disintegrated under very little duress, I have the Nux GP1 which is much more robust a third of the price and sounds horrible. I have a Zoom B1on which runs on AA batteries and makes a great headphone amp and is very cheap but bulky. Same goes for the Vox Pathfinder, but does have a usable speaker for low volume practise. The one that got away was my Pocket Rockit which was just great. Actually I gave it away to a mate when I had 'given up' playing bass 🤦🏼♂️ and now you can't buy them. I like the look of this

so this thread led me here, I actually laughed out loud

In a pinch I'll allow a mirrored finish But only under very specific conditions.

Beautiful absolutely beautiful. Obviously needs a tort plate as they are always the best with any and every finish. But my goodness that's a work of art.

I avoid buying stuff if I have to organise a courier. No moral reason just can't be bothered. So I've always offered delivery or postage assuming others will feel the same and wishing to maximise my chances of a sale. However I recently sold something at a very very very reasonable price. Organised delivery to some pretty exacting specifications from the buyer. Parcel arrived late. Unhappy buyer. I refunded half the postage cost.No feedback and me out of pocket. From that experience I decided that future buyers can meet me somewhere, get a fellow Basschatter to deliver or take their chances with Hermes and the rest.

Needs fixing but i bet some of you can. I can't get to Staffordshire to get it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trace-elliot-gp7-bass-head-spares-or-repair/133241751394?hash=item1f05d3c762:g:y5EAAOSw2ntd0B6v

I attach this to this with this still on that to weigh it down. Then at the end of the night there is no stand to pack away and the heavy thing is still on the wheelie thing and ready (literally) to roll. Now if there was a way to grow a mic stand out of the wheelie thing then possibly this could sit on this and weigh it down whilst being protected by that from drunken punters. The main problem is it would be as sin.
