3.
Doe's it have a DI output?
Hey, I've never used it but there seems to be one on the front
4. I always find in the local cash converters, rather than old equipment they have lots of brand new, no-name, crap copies. Maybe one day I'll find the funk machine. Maybe.
5. http://oxford.gumtree.com/oxford/61/72241561.html Maybe having no pictures is for the best, it sounds like a right mess...
6.
In my experience, the majority of bands in the metal scene are more than happy to share gear. Once you have a head sorted most of your troubles are sorted. The Ashdown Mag 410T is a good cab in my book. Lots of lowend and really cheap secondhand. I've seen them go for €100 over here.
Yeah I've never had any problems with sharing with anyone, but you never know, one day someone might say no and I'd be scuppered! I've heard good things about Ashdowns, will keep my eye open! Cheers dude. Also, nice tshirt, Down are such an underrated band.
7. Just got back from practice, I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow after work
8. Whereabouts in Kent are you mate? *scratch that, just had a good offer on an amp I'm after...Sorry, looks like a bargain though, I can't see this being here long!
9.
Im with you sir Billy is a Shihan (I like that). Just love the Attitude sound.
I saw what you did there, and I enjoyed it.
10. Thanks for the offers guys, I have my eye on something but if that falls through I'll let you know
11.
don't be a dick
Good advice, that!
12. Price drop bump, now looking for £100 collected.
13.
Wonderful piece from Opeth
You sir, (you are a sir and not a miss, right?) have stunning taste.
14.
The Laney DP series is so underated. I bought my DP150 head 18 months ago from a local music shop for £70 - they had had it for over three years with no-one even remotely interested in trying it out. It's a real shame because you can get some really good sounds from it with all the different switching options. I use mine with an Ampeg SVT 1x15" cab & a Trace Elliot 2x10". It is a bit under-powered for larger gigs but DI'ing it sorts that. Realistically, how much are you looking for for it?
I've updated the original post with a bit more info and a potential price, though as I say I'm open to offers as I have no idea of its value and I want rid!
15. Porcupine Tree, Heartattack in a Layby. Almost always makes me upset, never good to listen to when you're feeling down but to me, very powerful music.
16. Laney DP150 Bass combo, like this one: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24886 It sounds great, no real problems and as it's big, it's pretty loud. Condition wise, it's a bit scuffed but considering it's from the 80s it's pretty damn good. There are no casters on it but it has handles on the side which make lifting/moving it easier. We're going to be gigging a bit more in the future but I can't imagine hefting this thing around, I've injured my back and I have my eye on a super lightweight head/cab job. I honestly have no idea how much this is worth, so I'm going to guess around £150. However I am keen to shift it so if you want to make me an offer, feel free I'm located near Oxford if anyone wants to come try it, it's far too bulky to post so it'd have to be collection only. Cheers, J Edit: Pictures added!
17. Just finished showing some stuff to my dad. Wild Thing went down ok. Smoke on the Water went down very well, didn't stray much from root notes but he really seemed to enjoy it. Ball of Confusion was awesome, but the fretting hand proved difficult. Any more songs with just root notes not played too fast and without too much movement round the fretboard?
18.
Just started a 80s glam band, for a laugh and all that, not that we really love the music, just cos it will be fun and all that... We were just going to our first rehearsal this sunday, all booked and ready and today the bass player (I happen to be singing) decides to walk on us saying she wasn't ever in the band despite the fact she gave us the idea to form the band and was coming up costume ideas. Really really annoying for me, the guitarist and the drummer who have learnt our parts. Especially as all the othe rbassists I know are already in bands or not interested in the idea! Sorry had to vent this on here...
That sucks man, but as a bass player had you considered singing while playing? Or getting someone else to sing?
