1.
What are these massive differences?
As Dom in Somerset pointed out, the first and biggest difference is gonna be your neck scale length, one is short, one is long. Depends which you like best. I have an SG at home and feel that it's short scale neck is really quick and easy to get around. By comparison my main gigging and recording bass is a 5 string jazz so they both feel totally different! Pickups again are a significant difference between the 2 basses you are looking at, so it really comes down to what you like. Can't get any better advice than to try as many as you can, see what YOU like. Taking time to try them out will pay off for you in the end.
2. Bump to top. Had a sale sorted, but fell through.
3. The SG's are surprisingly light, far lighter than Epiphone EB0's. But as said above, there are some massive differences between your two options, so just have a play of a few, see what feels right.
4. Big price drop - Selling loads of stuff, Xmas has knacked me!
5. He has indeed
6. Sold! Cheers all off to a very good home!
7. I use mine to play my bass through my Nintendo
8. That was quick! Time to flog mine!
9. So many people just after a Hot Hand! Unfortunately for you all, I'm not looking to split them, cheers for the interest though!
10. BUMP! Back up for sale as it still hasn't been used since I withdrew it and Xmas has hit harder than an alcoholic stepfather
11. The best tip I ever got when I owned an SVT-3 Pro = Gain on full at all times and work from there. Never ever had volume qualms.
12. Haha, cheers, most of my sales tend to be 'reluctant' ones, prob why most things tend to hang around, not get sold, get withdrawn, then get relisted again at a later date...
13. Up again now just cos of Xmas funds needed Now has a black hipshot bridge that cost me about £90 which is miles better than the standard Gibson bridge, set up by Steve Robinson here in manchester, and it plays amazing. Only selling this cos it's my play at home bass rather than a gigging bass, so it's first to go up for sale when dough is needed. I won't be sad at all if it doesn't sell, but the wife says I should try
14. Yeah, the Class D Matamp prototype is tiny!
15. First proper amp I ever owned, and never ever let me down, even after literally being thrown around. I'm always tempted when these come up, even though I don't really need it. A workhorse of an amp for whoever buys it!!
16. I found my love for the Novation Bass Station through a great band I was into a few years back, called 'Peace Burial at Sea', (since split up, believe a few people are in a band called 'Ghosts of Old Berlin' now) The Bass Station was on my radar cos of Radiohead, but it was these guys who made me want one.
17. There was an Gibson SG not too long back. I traded for it, I love it, and then it gt even nicer when I put a hipshot bridge on. Someone buy this so I don't start thinking I need another!
18. Scan this and have a listen - (or if you haven't used QR codes before, just head over to http://www.dresdenmusic.com ) Lemme know what you think Cheers!
19. Withdrawn, as I need to pull my finger out and just learn how to use it properly. Apologies.
20. Right, I bought this from Thomann on 30/09, cost me £262 for both. I've seriously only used it for about 10 mins, and I haven't got the attention span at the moment to fiddle with it, and I have my eyes on something else, so... It's mainly up for sale, mainly listening to trades in case someone has anything interesting. As its literally perfect, and almost unused, I would like to be looking at getting about £240 picked up. Cheers for looking!
21. Someone buy this, I need some space in my man-cave!
22. I've always wanted to try out a Sunn 300t, but I absolutely adore my Matamp! I probably will never bother with another amp after this.
23. I'd have totally had this if I could afford it, I've missed thunderbirds since I sold mine about 8 yrs ago, always said I would get another. People need to realise how much of a difference the hipshot bridge makes too, it made my SG bass about a million times nicer! (that number is a rough estimate)
24. TONIGHT! Any more for guest list, lemme know today. Ta
