1. Try this place, very nearly half the UK price and you should get them within a few days, I tend to buy a couple of sets at a time to save on postage. 2. I had one a few years ago. I found that the EQ section was very limited, especially the mid section, there wasn't enough control at the correct frequencies. Others have found this too, I remember seeing a review in bassplayer magazine, and also I think I've seen the same thing said on talkbass.
3. I've seen Steve Lawson use his, he gets some great sounds from it....but from what I hear they aren't very easy to program, but once you have then there's no looking back. Did this come with the floor unit as well ?. I've been using a TC M-one XL for the last few months which I really like, I'm not too good at programming things, or adjusting parameters, I find the M-one to be a plug in and play thing. I'd definately like to try a G2 though, the reverbs are meant to be class.
4. I remember years ago, I used to spend most of my pocket money on guitar mags. There used to be a magazine called Music UK, one of the first ones that I bought featured some reviews of ER basses built by Manson, I think there was a 5 string and an 8, I can't remember the other, but for their time, the designs were years ahead of what everyone else was doing.
5. I have a 6 string fretted version of this, I can't believe that this hasn't been snapped up.
6. I'm after a new stand for my bass, I'd really like one that grabs the neck, the only trouble is it's a 6 string, so it has quite a wide neck. I've tried Hercules in the past but they aren't wide enough. Cost isn't really important (within reason), it just needs to be good and reliable.
7. They're great things aren't they, you only need listen to a Steve Lawson album for an insight into what they can do.
8. This was about 10 or 12 years ago. They were on the high street, I think by the railway station, it may even have been called Station street, I'm not sure, they were opposite a car park.
9. I remember the Embassy well, I bought two of the Wals from them, a 4 string and a 5. The original shop was fantastic, it had a really nice vibe to it.
10. A very, very nice bass. Burr myrtle facings on an ash body. Bartolini pickups and a John East preamp. The neck profile is great, and best of all it just doesn't move. The sounds available are amazing, deep and full, yet bright and clear, no deadspots and great sustain.
11.
It'd be cool if Michael Manring and Steve Lawson could make it as well.
Those two plus Gary Willis, that would be fantastic.
12. He's a regular on talkbass, he has a nice collection.
13. I've bought a few things from them over the years, whenever I go in the shop I always sort of get the impression that they'd rather I hadn't.......strange really because I kind of thought that they were there to sell me things. They don't seem to have grasped the concept of seller/buyer. Something wierd that happened regarding one purchase from them..................I bought a Roscoe from them about two years ago, it was a commission sale. Anyway, about two months ago I had a phone call from the basscentre asking if I still had the receipts for it, he sounded pretty desperate and wasn't at all happy when I told him I hadn't................sounds like something similar to the other replies from people who've had problems with commission sales. I've had loads off stuff from the Gallery, their prices............I find anyway are competitive, and their customer service is excellent. I'm about to order an F-bass from bass central in the US, they really have embraced the customer service ethic, they answer emails promptly, and seem to go out of their way to be helpful.
